You never know what a child will cherish as a memory. One of my most favorite memories of childhood was riding on the back of my Paw Paw's mule Henry while he broke the ground for the garden in late winter/early spring. I was around 5 or 6 years old the first time I remember doing it, and I can tell you that I thought I was the king of the world holding on to the collar of that big old Belgian mule! I can still smell the fresh broke ground and the steam coming up off of Henry's back after he got heated up. From then on, it became a spring ritual that I would look forward to every year. Yes sir, you made memories with that ride, but then, I get the distinct impression that you work at building memories for your young ones, like a good Father should.
It was the 1949 "double dually" pickup that caught my eye in a video thumbnail late last year and made me a subscriber. In the year since then, this has become my favorite channel, and the channel itself has doubled in size. Don't let "big youtube money" change who you are or how you do things. Congratulations on the success!
Fantastic episode - thank you for the spirit of adventure and fun you bring to all your projects. You’re right - those kids will remember that ride for years. Merry Christmas 🎄
*- A number of the channels I watch have had EcoFlow want to sponsor them.* *- All the channel owners like the EcoFlow for the same reasons you do, but your presentation was quicker {visual}, more succinct, and sinks in better.* *- You did the BEST review for the brand that I have seen ! ! !* *-...and...your paying attention to the water issue warning is actually top shelf marketing in my view.* *- {I suspect all of these heavy metal batteries have the same issue}, and, because of that; You did a customer service review, which I think EcoFlow should be both impressed by and very pleased with, too.* *- If I were the @EcoFlowTech Marketing VP, I would stalk you up with a full battery storage system for solar and wind powered supply to both your home and shop and let you market for them as you see fit....you are that good, James ! ! !*
There is the guy who had one in his boat and forgot to put the drain plug in the transom before launching the boat. He was the poster boy for what happens when it gets wet! lots of smoke and steam as the electronics fried. he did salvage the cells and reused them after a thorough cell by cell test and inspection, but the rest of the unit was gone. Electrolysis dissolved all the metal on the circuit boards!
This could be the best review of a power station I’ve ever seen on RU-vid. Many have tried, only you have succeeded! Then you pick up the kids and prove you’re a great dad, even more important!!!! Outstanding as always.
Nothing better than a Dad with a sense of humor and adventure. The kids know that fun is important. The excited chatter tells a great story, it even lasted to the end. Happy Holidays to you as well.
I just realized that your intro's are the only ones I don't skip - your vids are that good. And the covered wagon with the kids was nothing short of awesome. Happy Holidays to you too.
What a great wholesome ending to the year! I hope the up coming year will be even greater for you good sir! I love the fact that any of the kids didn't find riding that embarrasing in anyway!
Useless comment until I actually watch. I'm on number 8 jump pack/air compressor/200 watt AC power/2 X 2.1 Amp USB ports that failed from leaving outside, battery failing, air compressor melting at 20psi etc but what really got me was having it go bezerk while everything was off when a heavy fog came off the lake one night when I was working outside. It's a relatively cheap unit, $109 last time I checked but I like being able to program the pressure, usually 20 psi at most, walk away to continue another task and know it turns off as I'll either forget or not want to have to watch a needle move. So far I've had no problems exchanging for a new one with a receipt. This year was great and I'm lucky to write this from what was a dream just a year ago, a cabin in the woods and woods that are now trash free, until I find more anyways.
I’ve been living vicariously through RU-vid for almost a year, now, following a knee injury and repair surgery in last January’s snow. Rehabilitation and physio have got me walking and even gently running, but not back to working or having fun, yet. If it wasn’t for this channel, rainman ray, robot cantina and a few other broadly similar channels, I’d have lost the will to live, long ago. Ben, on Tasty Classics, makes very long videos, two or three times a month and he has a similar approach, but very different projects and obviously far less space to work in or store stuff in. I had no idea there was this amount of amazing content constantly getting uploaded. I never moan about the reruns and garbage on tv any more. Now I find tv is a distraction from the stuff I actually want to watch. Thank you for being part of my salvation/corruption, depending on your viewpoint. Not sure I could have made it through my enforced inactivity without you.
That was so wholesome you reminded me of my dad a lot especially with your humor and well I love it and that's what got me interested in your videos and because your working on engines and such but your personality helps keep it entertaining
Wow! What a cool buggy. Your kids will differently remember that Christmas in years to come. Wishing you and your family a lovely Christmas and New year.
Well done James, those kids having fun really had me smiling. Thanks for not crossing to the dark side, unfortunately I’ve seen channels in the past become tempted and it changes their channel for the worse. A merry Christmas to you and your family and I hope you enjoy your break. Thanks for all the fun and interesting videos this year as well as years past. From the land down under, cheers mate. If I didn't live in urban sprawl I certainly would be trying some of the things that you do, please keep up the good work we do appreciate all that you do.👍🏼
Easily the best channel on the tubes and probably the most wholesome content by the most genuine creator! Thank You Sir Merry Christmas and have a Very Happy New Year!!!
Imagine having an dad, uncle or otherwise fatherly figure like you in my life, well, I do, but he doesn't come up with as much shenanigance as you do! I love the wagon, it has to be my favorite build on RU-vid and I'm so glad the RU-vid algorithm overlord kept pestering me about you until I finally caved a year ago. What an awesome ride it has been, and here's to another year of tomfoolery!
Just a suggestion now that you have a Charging alternator. It'd be cool to see you add tail lights and front lights to the front of the bumper there sort of like '50s style teardrop bug eyes. A engine cover might be nice too.
When I weld I wear gloves, arm protectors and a welder's apron, but I only stick weld. I think the big lesson here is we don't swat mosquitos with "A bombs." Ron W4BIN
It has been a good year. I enjoy your videos and look forward for more. Your a good dad and you are a good guy. I hope you and your family have a great holiday season and enjoy your time off. 👍🇺🇸✌️
James, you are a a legend. Have a great break and here's to more fun next year. PS - If I'm watching a lot of videos back-to-back, I always save yours until last coz I know it is going to put me in a 'happy place' I want to be.
You should build one of those bouncy wagon-seats for it, it would give ya that feeling of riding in a real wagon, and it would look much more authentic. 😉👍, great video guys, thanks for sharing.
I subscribed a while back, and I've never regretted it! My favorite channels are ones where there's a good chance you could learn something while being entertained. I usually learn something from you (even if it's how NOT to do something!), and I'm always entertained! Thank you for continuing to provide a superior product... keep at it, and the subs will come. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!
The early cordless drills were terrible. However I used one every day in the mid to late 80’s. I was a TV repairman, they worked great as a nut driver for removing the back of TV’s. GE TV’s had a ridiculous number of screws holding the back on.
When he first arrived, his daughter slapped her palm against her forehead and thought, "Oh, No, Dad! What were you thinking! How embarrassing! Ugh!" After the success of Jim's decision, his daughter went on to be the Most Popular Girl, with the coolest Dad, in her class. 👸😎🥳🙂
Great to see you having fun with the kids and using one of your creations. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. (And you know we all want to see the engine rebuild too!)
I really enjoyed this video thank you so much !! The Christmas lights and drive at the end remined me of the old days in England, brought tears to my eyes Thank you.
I stumbled across your channel in the beginning of the year and I have to say this has been a great year watching your videos. I am a big believer in not everything that is new is better and I've been rebuilding and fixing lots of things and watching your videos just makes it that much more fun. Merry Christmas and happy new year I can't wait to see you next year
Hey James, Just a couple things: 1). The brake shoes will be fine after they dry off. Dot 3 brake fluid is NOT OIL so it will dry off. Even in automotive class we were taught to wash brake fluid off brake shoes with mineral spirits or parts cleaner and reuse them on customer cars. 2). Silver Powder stop leak. I have stopped coolant leaks with multiple brands of silver stop leak. Some are liquid some are powder. My favorite was from Standard Oil, which became American Oil Company, Then Amoco, then BP Amoco, now it's just BP. They had a Silver liquid product called Atlas Block Sealer. I used to tell my customers I guaranteed it to work or they didn't have to pay. With their engine running, I'd put it into their radiator, fill it up with coolant and then put the pump up radiator cap/ system pressure test pump on it and pump it up to 15Lbs. The customer could watch the leak stop right befor their very eyes. My boss didn't like when I gave the guarantee, he said if it didn't work I'd have to pay for it, but it never failed me and those customers couldn't pay the price fast enough. So, on something like a Go Devil, I'd have no hesitation. Look online and you'll find several. There are also copper powder products out there nowadays. Thanks for the videos, they are always fun and Merry Christmas to you too. ben/ michigan
You always have such a positive attitude. Thank you for all your hard work, just for us vanish from stressful lives from time to time! MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and your family!
