Mr Forest when you zoomed out with your drone and we get the overview shot of you coming up that ice pack 14:49 it's almost incomprehensible to this average lazy arm chair Joe... that you made your way up there in an afternoon... you're the man Foresty Forest 👍👍
Can’t agree more you guys. I’m also always worried seeing him vs. those enormous mountains, it looks so dangerous. Thank you for all your work and stay safe brother 💪🏼🙏🏼
You're video's inspire me! I'm 65 and going on the road in November. I'll be visiting beaches in Florida. Nothing to climb there, but it's the unknown that excites me. Thanks for sharing, it means more than you will know.
There are differences in the Florida beaches…some of my favorites are the coquina rocks found on beach around Marineland and to come into the south end of Canaveral National Seashore.
@@davidscher1620 nahhhh.. hanging off a cliff that's a few thousand feet high is definitely dangerous, but doesn't mean one have to be scared. Danger is real because out of dangerous activities you can actually get injured, where fear is only thinking of getting injured; so no they are not of the same from the mind. One of them is as real as it gets. You can't die from being scared, and fear is an emotion we can control.
@@LOTStreets danger to you and danger to Alex hanold are two very different things correct? The thing that separates it? Fear. But, we can agree to disagree. 👍👍
One of the coolest videos you’ve made in a long time. It’s so cool to see you working with the new tech stuff without being a channel about “procuring stuff”. You’re one of the greats, good sir.
Dear Foresty, I have been enjoying watching you since I found your channel. I have recently built out my moms old minivan into a mini camper and today I properly climbed my first mountain (Mt. Säntis in Switzerland) and it was great. Thank you for your inspiration!
@@forestyforest Absolutely true. You really are a wonderful cinematographer and editor. My dad was a filmmaker and did a few documentaries for the history channel, so I grew up listening to him passing similar judgements. :-) I know how much he would have loved your videos.
“When there”s a will there’s a stupid way”. Man I wish that didn’t cut so deeply. So many stupid routes of pain I’ve taken just because I refused to tell myself no. Be safe! If you chase cows watch out for flying Patty saucers! ❤️
Being a Washington State/Oregon resident, it's strange to hear someone in Canada mention the "Columbia River Gorge" and not be talking about the part of the Columbia River Gorge that's so close to Portland. It's hard to fathom that the Columbia River reaches so far, and has carved a gorge along a large amount of it's path. It's awesome, and awe-inspiring.
If you going to be on them ruff rocky trails you need to get some skid plates for your diffs (axle housings) you can order them or any machine shop can make them lot cheaper than buying new axle housings. Safe travels
@@danielwurmer2266 you start walking or ride a bike and hope somebody is driving around there and will give you a lift into nearest town. Then you might have to hire a tow truck and hope it can get there. $$$$$ so not a pleasant turn of events. Good reason to have CAA coverage, reduce towing costs.
How do you handle fear and panic? I find myself incapacitated by those feelings. Is it knowledge? Preparation? Experience? Is your brain wired for adventure somehow? Love the videos as always, thank you for sharing!
There is definitely the full spectrum of emotions happening on these mountain hikes.. this one was nearly a turn around. Just have to carry along. Experience is definitely a factor. Things are less scary now than they were a year ago. Its always good to play it safe, I've turned around many times. Be careful out there, none of these things are worth dying for.
@@forestyforest You are so amazing Foresty. Love your videos, and you give good advice...love from a Brazilian..my husband and I have a ford e250,, which we named Nick Diaz, the mma fighter...tough van almost 400km and it still rocks..
I started watching Nick Diaz fight before Nate was even in the fight game, but I enjoy both brothers...Nick has good cardio and a strong chin, just like his Brother Nate...the named van is in reference to that...We work in Alberta and lived in Toronto..our van went from Toronto to Alberta many, many times...we moved to Grande Prairie, but we still drive Nick to B.C. or Ontario when we go every winter for holidays.
@@rossberry6684 true. I do wish he would slow the videos down when coming down. Two reasons. I would love to see it And WOW, it can give ya a headache.
Finally a mountaineer who shows the true difficulty of climbing a peak . The drive the bush whacking , and the true inclines of the peaks. And don't forget the scree.
its actually pretty cool that someone went thru the time and effort of RnD to make you a specialized pump just so then we can enjoy your videos more and you can have a better time
so amazing...I thought it was funny that you laughed at the coconut slopping out of the can. I don't know why that sound cracks me up too. That ice tunnel you when through!! EEkks.
Not an ice climbing guy here but I was a bit concerned for you buddy on that ice section and the tunnel but I’ll bow to your knowledge. Be safe and keep up the great content 🤙🏼
Forestry, my man. You missed out on them raisins. In the soup they stop being raisins and become rehydrated grapes of soupy flavour. Cooking with raisins works with chicken, curries and so much more!
@@forestyforest Do you know why you get likes when you reply to a comment, in my opinion. I appreciate and respect when you guys do that. It shows you really care about your channel. And no, I do not expect you to answer thousands. Just enough to show you care is what matters. 💙(✷‿✷)
Every video is a window into a marvellous journey. Thank you for sharing with all of us, it really is beautiful what you do and the work that goes into it. :) Have a great day and stay warm!
Man.. I love that shot of a dark camp fire lonely sit. A gifted food is always suspect and a Russian roulette- In culinary world, food security is a big deal. I like the way that coconut milk plops in like a canned meat. Its always a pleasure watching your channel.
Hearing that coconut milk splash into the soup was a very visceral experience, one that I did not see coming. I’m going to be thinking about that sound all night.
Consistently high quality. We only need look to some of your collaboration vids to understand that consistency is not as easy as it looks. Chrome and Steve are at a similar level, but the others could start a "Where are they now" channel. Thank you for the entertainment. Happy to be a Patron.
Even the bears in Canada are laid back! Must be something in the water. 🤔 "Where there's a will there's a stupid way!" The (Canada) dry wit keeps coming!!! 🤣😂 Winter (weather) begins before summer (calendar) ends! Great videography as always!!! Stay warm and safe Foresty!!!
You scare me when you’re alone climbing mountains! Lol you should quarter up some canned biscuits to put in your soup to make dumplings yummy! Thanks so much for sharing 💜
Thanks for sharing your experience up in the mountains - you look very strong and agile when you're climbing, and reaching for those monumental heights. I'm enjoying watching all of your videos.
No matter how many times I watch you make it to the summit of a mountain, it's still awe inspiring. This one especially. "When there's a will, there's a stupid way." Aye, never give up, Foresty.
I could use this serenity right now; I'm at a point where I don't mind seeing a bear (from a reasonable distance) over being around loud and toxic humans.
That drum music @2:00 reminded me of a heist film like Ocean's Eleven when you think they failed then they show you what they actually did to pull of the heist.
When the drone camera zoomed out at about 15 minutes in, the scale of the climb really became apparent, and you turned into a little dot on the mountain. That really gave some scale to your climb. Wow! Great video! I agree with Me Mikel completely.
*Have you ever thought about what you are actually getting to do and see??* *I do wonder if you get as Awed as we do.?? I can tell you enjoy hiking and being in nature. And I hope you never feel like doing this for us, is a job?* *And it's so amazing that you do it and are able to show us. Especially the drone shot's.* *For part of most of us, we will never ever get to see such beautiful and find it so amazing. Canada is so beautiful and again, Amazing. And I think since we feel we know you, it makes what we see even more personal for us and more believable.* *We are actually seeing it through your eyes.* 💙💙
Can’t get enough of your videos man. I found you when i was converting a school bus. Looking for pointers. Then stuck around through two vans and countless summits. Keep it going brother.
You should consider having a companion Foodesty Forest channel similar to Moresty Forest where you isolate your cooking segments. I think campers, RVers, and just plain at home folks would try out some of your recipes if they were collected (and labeled) in one place. We could even have Foresty Nights where we cook up a Foresty delicacy and watch Foresty videos. No ingredient measuring allowed (okay, you measured water this time-didn’t know you had a measuring cup!). Have to find a source for little-known Canadian beers, though.
*Your drone shots and video works are AMAZING and GORGEOUS!* Thank you for your work and dedicated efforts; I love watching your channel! Stay safe up there and I look forward to the next one. 🌄🏔️🚶♂️🏞️🌞
Cannot wait until you finally head off on another road trip in your van and film the journey I don’t think you’ve taken a single road trip in this van !
@@forestyforest yeah I liked the one where you went up North and it was flat and the roads covered with packed snow. And it was really really cold. Not that I want to see you punished but it's like the mountains you guys have, we will never see them.
It's amazing that 'just a few' years ago those aerial shots would have cost tens of thousands of dollars, and now basically anyone can shoot that kind of stuff.
Dude the cinematography is off the charts good. The drone footage around 14:54 WHILE you are climbing that steep gully is just insane. Its so fkn good but its kinda concerning man. Take care and please be safe. No drone shot is worth your life.
