19:53 It's actually the opposite problem for me. Every birthday message includes a specialty dish of a character, even the one I don't own, so I would be super upset if I spent the one specialty dish of a character I don't own, so I'm thankful that Hoyoverse adressed that

the regional specialty QoL will not nerf the characters with regional specialty tracking passives. This QoL just gives you a general area on the map with a blue circle on the map, but the character passives will work as usual, showing you exact locations of ingrediants so it's still better to use those characters 19:53 it's not JUST for specialty dishes, i'm pretty sure it'll also work on event exclusive food items, like the rock and roll dango milk from the Itto event

to be fair it still nerfs since you basically have the region already so you don't specifically need the character, i mean, the map already shows you and its not like they are hidden tho

@@Ricardo_Rick for farming a specific material sure, but it only shows 1 thing at a time. The character passive is best used when running around new areas as it shows all nearby regionals while exploring.

@@hellothere9169 true but usually you would only truly go out of your way to pick a regional if you are farming for it, so having it for normal exploration is a bit useless since youa re already exploring the area ans would find it eventually

I don't think the Long Quest notification is related to long major world quest chains but when it'll be a while until the next comfortable stopping point. A WQ chain could take days but so long as it is broken into adequately small chunks, you would never need a Long Quest notification.

Remember that event where we got trapped underground with kuki, itto, yelan and the lawyer, that quest had one section that lasted a full hour, with no break. People playing on mobile ran into battery life issues, I had to force quit the app because I started it on lunch break without knowing how long it was.

This is definitely an amazing addition to the channel. Your opinion is one of the most valuable when it comes to Genshin. Not only you played the game for a very long time, but have been enjoying since day 1. Not only that, you are not focused on the meta which seems like the go to for most content creators of the game. I love that these types of discussions are not exclusively on twitch and you are bringing them to YT.

I think the local specialty tracking just helps with the character talents, since the tracking takes you to the location but then the talent shows you exactly where each of the specialty is. I personally love that they add the tracking, since character talents show EVERY local specialty of that nation and not a specific one you're looking for. Also, I did pull for Sethos mainly because of the talent, since I didn't have Tighnari at that point yet😂

I've been providing feedback to surveys pretty regularly since 3.6. Quite a few of my requests were added to the game. Hoping more are added soon enough especially the completion of the loadout system. Here's the copy-paste I use :) 1. Artifact Loadouts/ Presets: We're just 1-2 steps behind the proper artifact loadouts. Just add more user friendly options to customize the current quick re-equip menu and let us add and save 4-5 presets per character that can be hot swappable any time we want. The foundation has already been built, just finish it. 2. Make the old events such as Unreconciled stars, Albedo in Dragonspine, Golden Apple available for every player (especially new players) to play as a DLC since these have extremely high story/lore significance. 3. Add previous events like Divine Ingenuity, Windtrace, Labyrinth Warriors etc. as permanent game-modes. 4. Make the event weapons available for purchase in NPC shops or Paimon's bargains. 5. Allow playable characters to be available for interaction in overworld at relevant places. 6. Accessories for the traveler to wear. (Aranara flower crown, Inazuman Yokai masks) 7. Displaying currently activated buffs/ shield stacks and other effects at a separate screen or with icons. Similar to the bond of life mechanic. 8. More 4 Stars (In the monthly rotation) in the Paimon's bargains/ Starglitter shop. 9. Make the chances of Amber, Kaeya, Lisa to appear in the banners equal to the other non rate up 4 stars. 10. Weekly boss resin to be set to 30 for all bosses and letting a boss be ran multiple times a week. 11. Proper lip-sync all across the game in all languages. 12. Optimize the enemy tracking from handbook. Instead of using the preset enemies to track, please track the enemies nearest or at least the same region the player is currently in. Also increase the number of enemies that can be tracked to the maximum. 13. Better compass for searching chests, where we can locate hidden puzzles as well as normal chests, and drop 2-3 compass nodes instead of 1. This will help us cover more area and find more chests easily. 14. Make world boss drops convertible to other boss drops like the weekly boss drops. Instead of using dream solvents, the ratio of conversion could be 2:1. 15. Resin regeneration 10 per hour capping at 240 per day. 16. Condense resin limit increased from 5 to 12 (12 will be able to store two days' worth of resin if it is increased to 240) 17. Resin overflow storage. 18. Making all talent and weapon ascension materials available any day of the week. 19. Adding mounts/ ridable creatures in-game. 20. Adding more fauna to Mondstadt and maybe Liyue too. 21. More local legends to new areas and also older regions. (Mondstadt, Liyue etc) 22. Option to choose a character's voice over language individually. For example: I can choose character X to speak in English while character Y speaks in Japanese. 23. Let us bring less than 4 characters in a fight in Imaginerium Theatre. 24. In-game map sync with interactive map. 25. Ability to pet Animals. 26. In-game cutscene and world quest story archive (Which are optional to download/uninstall after playthrough). 27. Map pin limit to be set to 600 meaning 100 per region. 28. More map pin icons please. 29. Food/ Consumable items are given more utility. 30. More features/ optimization to the Kamera/ Photo-mode. 31. Displaying all world quest markers when in that area.

I wanna ask you a genuine question. When you asked for 10 resin/h, 240/d, did you think about how the number of materials you get per resin is balanced against the existing refresh rate? It may be nice round numbers to look at, but are you asking them to rebalance the entire material economy, or are you asking them to give you a massive boost to material acquisition? Either way, my gut tells me that the regen rate will likely never change to that degree.

@@effortlessfury I will admit that part of the reason I want the refresh rate to be 240/d is because of the round numbers : ). However imo even if the entire economy is balanced around the current refresh rate, that rate was sufficient for the first 2 years. But as we have progressed through the versions we've accumulated A LOT of characters even as f2ps. Getting more resin per day will enable us to invest horizontally more, since IT has been asking for that. If it turns out that actually we are getting less materials for the resin we are generating. A a rework at WL 9 at AR 58, or a final WL 10 at 60 might solve that. Since imo that level of fine tuning of resin usage to outcome only really matters late into the game. In the early game more resin per day will give you much more breathing room for who you are investing into.

4.0 have been introducing so many QoL and some of them are for new players like in game guide, artifact suggestion etc which can help new players get stronger easier. When most players get stronger, genshin can afford to be extra hard, hence increase world level. I'm so happy that I can get 3 boss mats instead of 2. 3 new additions (not QoL) that I want to see from Genshin are 1) Replay past events. Focus experienced could help this case. Make it DLC if storage is a problem 2. Divine Ingeuinity. Dungeon builder mode where players have maximum freedom to build their own custom playground 3. Compass that tracks EVERY COLLECTIBLE like in summer events. Despite having 100% map, I still encounter missing chest Others like artifacts loadout, resin overflow etc, it's fine but I don't really care

Number 1 and 2 will actually be a really good addition to the game number 3 is nice but after reaching 100% in area the remaining is less than a pull so it's just an ocd problem more than an actual problem but i think changing the compass to show everything in area after reaching 100% will be a nice addition

Yeah we need a permanent divine ingenuity. Im mostly thinking how much Id enjoy having an arena of sorts where you can set your energy to max, fight whoever mob you want, just as trying and experimenting with different teams and make that experience smoother. And a log of the damage youve done in these domains/arena would so appreciated.

Some of the said "long quest" may be like Fountaine's Archon quest where there's a very long cutscene of trials where you can't possibly pause, or Inazuma's archon quest where you have to defeat shogun for some time, if you enter the quest without pausing for preparation you can get pretty overwhelmed

10:56 From the wording and formatting, I believe the drop rates will be fixed for all World Levels, starting from 5.0, not just World Level 9. (they split the texts with a line there)

I believe there was a world quest in Tsurumi island, where you have to fight Rift hounds, it was very difficult and I did many attempts at succeeding, so that Long quest Promp Funtion will serve such situation.

Hey Arnold! Just wanted to say that I love your content. Life has become too tiring for me to be too emotionally invested to be negative at every single thing Genshin spits out so your content has been a saving grace for me. Not saying that criticism is bad, just that I have too much going on IRL that I'd rather listen to my favorite comfort content creator yap about lore than listen to someone explain why Genshin is dying for the 4th year in a row.

I'm thinking with long gameplay warning, the climax of Fontaine. You are basically locked in for the entire trial, which i was telling my friends have two hours. Also thinking of act 2 of sumeru.

Listen the character talent is ALL local specialties in the region, it doesn't tell me if sethos is alerting me to another gd sumeru rose vs the mushrooms I'm actually looking for. This is going to actually save me like 20 pins, I still have stuff marked from when I was upgrading Lisa for example

When I first heard the music in the background I teared up. I actually like doing the weekly requests and bounties, removing them from BP to "reduce the long term burden" is fine as long as its replacement in BP is good, But having the Option to at least do the requests and bounties even when at max reputation should still be there.

the increased probability for commission achievements was such a god-sent... I finished my missing Sumeru ones and the Fontaine ones in the time it took me to get three of the Inazuma ones back then. I'm happy these QoL updates are coming, but it does suck that it takes them so long to do it, I assume because of how hard it is to add these base-game changing dynamics in a complex and worked-on code. That's why I think we'll never get the skip button for quests, it's one of those things that I feel like has to be there since the inception of the game in order to not fuck up and glitch stuff.

I love to watch your content, so the more I have the better, but please do it if you have time, energy and don't overworked yourself ! Thanks you so much for your content ! Oh and I have a question did you do a video on the teasers and demos of Clorinde, Sigewinne, Sethos etc., and one for the 4.8 drip marketing stuffs ? I haven't seen them ( maybe I'm blind aha ) so I was wandering if you have a schedule prepared like you post them with X type video that go along with them or something ( like they're story quests ). Btw I need to say this but I'm so glad I find you cause you give so much attention to the lore, talking and theorising, I can feel you really enjoy the game plus your very chill and all, it really makes your content far more enjoyable for me then any content creator. I can't be on stream most of the time since I'm french and with the jet lag for me you stream to late or when I'm not free, so I'm glad I can through vod or youtube. Big shout out to you and your editors, your getting very quick at catching up too like we're in the Fontaine archon quests now it's impressive ! 2:07 I agree. While i do not understand why the difficulty was upped so significantly for Inazuman mobs(like those Kairagis and Wolfhounds were no joke for a region so early in game). Bu then for sumeru and fontaine the difficulty actually went down. Unless a very fresh new player doesn't stumble into those mobs, they arent that difficult(i have an alt account that does not have well built characters, i still find inazuma much harder in that account). However considering the people of natlan(i belive all people not just vision bearers) are supposed to be in some sort of partnership with the saurians(somewhat like how how some eremites borrow the strength of spirits and how kairagi borrow elements)..so canonically it makes sense that natlan mobs to be stronger. Not to mention Snezhnaya, considering that its armies are comprised of soldiers using "modern tech..based elemental weapons"

I think part of why Inazuma was difficult was maybe because it's gated from a player, you have to be atleast ar 30 (?) to go there where as any goober who started playing like 5-6 hours ago can teleport to fontaine

9:30 as a live service game that updates every 2months and theyre contsantly working on events, character roll outs and environments i can see why they'd wait until the big version updates to mess with stuff that works how they mean for it to work but not how the community would rather do it. No dev really wants to mess with old code like that especially something players use everyday. And this particular development has been tweaked THREE times since they changed it. They tweaked the weight of several enemies post Inazuma as well because of player feedback and i think the drops change are really because of spectors. The recent Polearm needed them, Kirara just got a skin and the envison visages trial and she needs them and its a real chore to farm them I'm sure they got a lot of feedback there too and tweaked the other mobs as a plus.

10:30 I don't know if this applies to your experience, but I know there are a few Kairagi/Nobishi camps that drop nothing because they're related to a hidden achievement on Nazuchi beach. If you don't clear all their camps in that area, they'll respawn again, so every time you clear them you'll still keep getting no drops. Obviously the drop rates for these guys are too low normally anyway, but really the problem here is when enemies don't drop anything in certain situations (quests, time trials etc). 27:20 Don't forget this change applies to newer players too. There are quite a few infamous things in Liyue and Dragonspine that early players get stuck on, that then can lock them out of co-op too. This is probably worse now because newer players have more nations with higher level enemies to easily teleport to and need to farm in. All of this stuff is a breeze for us at higher AR but may not be if you experience the game in the "wrong order". And even for veteran players, you can get caught out - I remember that one Sumeru domain where you needed a bow character for a puzzle but the game never told you that, so lots of players had to restart it. Admittedly though, such occasions are very rare. (And sometimes they've gotten clever at making sure you have what you need - remember during Caribert when we needed to light a camp fire, so everyone puts a pyro character in their team, then we just so happen to fight a cryo herald later after being stuck with that team in the domain!). Personally, other than the odd occasion like "bring a bow character", I'd like a setting where we can turn this prompt off, for immersion.

I started taking the game seriously in 4.1 (I had finished the mondstadt archon quest ages ago and stopped) and I just recently hit AR 58. I have done all the events and have pretty high exploration percentage. So I would say I takes about 11 months to get AR 58.

The changes seems pretty cool, but im still waiting for some kind of game mode or gameplay to grind without spending resin. I know its almost impossible for artifacts but maybe character or artifact exp or something like that, just something to do in the background when I want to watch video or stream on other monitor.

Your complaint about the Cliffhanger commissions hit hard. It took me almost 3 years to finish that one off. I still haven't gotten the Snezhnaya merchant achievement from Mondstadt despite playing since week 1 and even had my region set as Mondstadt for 7 months last year. I changed it to random in December after I got tired of doing the same 10 quests over and over.

So thanks for that 😂 I also agree that it'd be fun to have you upload these videos for every patch that comes out. Sometimes these updates are just very little and don't seem worth to make a whole video on it. So for big updates like these, it would make sense =)

I just crossed from AR 58 to 59 this week and the EXP is still in the 300K range. I can't remember what 57 to 58 was, but I feel like it was as you said, so I don't think it has changed.

I didn't notice the icons of past events in the map!! It makes me think of how Genshin previewed the "hide UI" on accident before it was released in a few patch and this might be a similar scenario. It would be cool to experience old events. I started the game in 1.5 and missed important stories (luckily I found your time capsule and was able to watch them here).

29:14 While I don't do requests/bounties anymore, I know some people use it to get some easy Mora. Now not being able to do it, they are forced to spend resin to do Blossoms of Wealth instead. 150k Mora per week just gone

There’re enough of those respawning mora nodes like rock piles or the triangle prism “mini chests” as I sometimes call them that mora farming isn’t really a resin dependent issue anymore. Seriously, 10k-20k per node with dozens if not hundreds of said nodes (with more to come in Natlan, I’m sure) adds up real quick. I think that’s the real reason that rep rewards no longer give mora; that being said, what they give in place of mora now is something that I wish we could get more of per week.

You can still do them, it's just that they won't be a quest for the BP. I myself don't need them and it was a hassle to do Rep Quest just for BP sake.

@@javahikage You can't do them anymore once you hit max Reputation (Lv 10). I always do them for mora, coz I'm always under 1m every patch. They're a very good weekly mora source. But now they'll be gone once we hit Reputation Lv 10 in Natlan... that's SOOOOO stupid.

The sumeru garcia's paene numbering machine daily commissions are killing me. On one of my accounts, I started grinding sumeru dailies again at the start of this version to complete this quest, as it prevents me from finishing 2 fontaine quests. All 4 commissions, zero days missed, 1 commission for garcias chain quest..... what makes it worse is this stupid chain makes you complete each step 3 times before you get the next step, and then when you do finally finish it, you still have to stay in sumeru and wait to get one more repeat to finally trigger the fontaine quest to unlock. I was really hoping to get both accounts 100% quests completed for every region before natlan. Thanks to RNG, one account done, one still stuck 1 commission completed on step one of garcias in sumeru with all other fontaine quests completed.

15:04 however, each character only has limited talents, specially passive talents. One of them used to highlight the resources near by (mika, klee, qiqi, yanfei, ninguang, tighnari, gorou, etc..you get it) . That passive talent could have been something more useful, that boosted off their kit, because if you look at these characters, other than tighnari and gorou as support, none of the characters are that good. That one talent could have changed them that they sacrificed to find the regional speciality.

This was a nice video. I love everything they have in this dev discussion except for blocking reputation quests and bounties once you've maxed it. That's 7.8 million mora a year, or roughly how much it takes to make a character go from 0 to hero, that's just gone. Idk how anyone has mora to spare except for buying all of the BP. Even at AR 60 I'm in mora debt half of the time lol.

Since I can't really expect a big change from Genshin. So I just hoped for little change like I wish there a way to sorting specialty food. Especially when you're going to cook. I can't remember which character that cook which specialty dish. I also hoped they added the coffee system from ZZZ. Farming talent materiel is a hassle!

The weapon and element recommendations for quests could actually be very useful. I believe it was the Caribert quest where a friend of mine used Ayaka freeze team, but you had to fight a cryo abyss herald in it. Sooo yea, she could have used that recommendation

I’ve given up on a lot of QoL stuff I’ve wanted in this game and they haven’t added for years now, but the one thing I will never give up on, is I really really want them to add an artifact trash and quick salvage like Star Rail and ZZZ has. Let trashed artifacts give out those exp potions too. Please. Artifacts are such a pain to manage in Genshin because they don’t have this one feature.

I am excited for Natlan, and I have been doing a personal experiment called, New Immersion Experience, where I am unable to watch the Special Program for the next version to see if my immersion will be better than actually watching the Special Program, Trailer and being spoiled by the content (This is the line from the trailer, this is the X scene from the trailer). I started this experiment on Version 4.7, and will most likely last at Version 5.2. So far, my immersion has been better, taking in the game slowly, having to witness the element of surprise when the Version goes live. This also means that I haven't watched ANY Natlan teasers, starting from Version 4.7, the first time they showed the teaser for Natlan. This means that I don't know anything about the new character's names, design, and additional lore. Hopefully this pays off, and actually take in the content without rushing it, taking in the scenery and more. Not that I would recommend this to anyone though, just sharing my experience for Natlan. Another thing is that, my immersive process is to explore the region, read the world quest, main quest, archon quest, explore a bit, check the surroundings, do puzzles but don't claim them. Then I watch Legend KyostinV for all chest guides, Oculi etc..

I like drop rate increase, cause still farming kairagi in Inazuma. Also special food being in the end of the list is awesome, all my reviving special food is gone, there's no time to search for the right one in the middle of a fight. They're giving us option to filter incomplete proficiency food, which is great! No need to clicking every one of them to check if it's maxed or not. Regional specialties update is great too, I'm really glad to have Tighnari and Lyney, it's so much easier to use characters with the mini-map talent. I literally was waiting to pull a similar Natlan character just because they have such talent.

I wouldn't say they made things "fix" because it was working as intended, but they definitely are making things better now that it's come to a new point. It's understandable when in the beginning of the game, there's not much to do but now when there are new players, to them, it'll be a long grind to try to catch up to where we are now.

To me it seems like someone new came along in the dev team which is why we’ve been getting so many qol changes that we ‘should’ve gotten’ two years ago. Idk if this is the case or not but it’s interesting to think of. I hope they keep it up because I’m loving all those slow but much needed changes

I personally think this happened due to the development of both HSR and ZZZ. Making changes to a live service game is way harder than making something from scratch. They definitely took feedback from GI for those games and when they figured out how that worked they have been implementing that stuff in GI while avoiding bugs and stuff that it may cause. Remember when GI came out it was the biggest and kind of a new thing in and of itself and also mihoyo was not really that experienced with such big projects so they probably didn't plan the longterm or qol when they were making GI initially which they did for HSR and ZZZ and then used those concepts back in GI.

i expect Natlans first monster to kill me if i look at it the wrong way, jokes aside im liking the WL9 idea and other features. i had the same idea jsut as you said, new content introduced is more challenging while older content gets easier, one example is how the Kairagi can be pulled when initially they couldnt, im glad im not the only one who noticed Enkanomiyas monsters are more resistant to damage, still remember how the 3 ruin guards spin attack dropped me off the map.

Im someone whose level was okay for this world level. I mean yeah regular monsters were certainly lower and they get challenging more so when they put a lot of them in one go. Local legends were certainly above but they were a relatively fun challenge. The thing that saddwns me a little is that world bosses were very much at my level, for the most part they did last an acceptable amount for me so now that theyll get crazier Im a bit sad for that ngl. Better drops is obviously appreciated but ultimately the grind issue for me still is artifacts. I dont rush any farming for everything else because I know I spend more time with the artifacts anyway even when Im someone who levels 90 their characters and doesnt go for the craziest artifacts. I just hope they keep improving the artifact experience bc there's a long way to go imo. Also Im surprised you dont use the strongbox😮 I dont use them like super super often but if I happen to farm an old domain Im 100% using the strongbox as well, yes its still gambling but objectively speaking those are better chances

Was enemy mats ever an issue? I started playing from 2.7(F2p) and by never grinding anything I still have almost 50 characters at 6th or 5th Ascension(10 characters at either 50/60 or 20/40)with most talents leveled up that is definitely more then the average player. This is still a net positive and having overworld mobs who can last a bit long to my teams would be nice too but was it just me who never had to farm any enemy mobs? Maybe people just don't fight everything while exploring or explore at all tbh
