I’ve been using this chest pack for a little bit now, I love it. I carry a 365xl, spare mag, medical, a knife and phone inside of it while I go hiking. Perfect enough of size for me, and not too cumbersome
I got the chest piece and it’s pretty great for conceal carrying. Wish the chest integrated better with their hydration pack, like use the chest strap from the hydration pack to attach the chest pack. I think that would solve your ccw/drone situation.
I have some extra shoulder pads for my plate carrier’s I’m going to put on the shoulder straps for this chest pack. Something to look into to help take some of the weight off your shoulders. You can find them cheap and in different thicknesses.
I’ll save my money for v2. The top strap buckles need to be detachable like the side buckles so it can be easily converted to fanny pack use or removed while wearing a backpack! They should also include (or at least sell as an accessory) a proper slightly padded waist belt to convert it into a fanny pack. It’s shown with the belt from the Skyweight backpack, but that thing is enormous and overkill for a fanny pack, AND not available separately (really 5.11??). It should be a strap that attaches to the side buckles so it’s small and could fit in the pack itself. Also, it would be great if the front pocket had a cell phone camera window like the Vertx SOCP (but better designed than that one). That flimsy stretchy thing seems useless for anything substantial and things would easily fall out if you bend over. It’s almost there and better than a lot of offerings, but misses the mark by too much to make it a compelling product. It’s like 5.11 rushed it to market without really thinking it through and testing it.
I believe hill people gear have a similar chest rig thats larger, but triple the price. I will probably get the 5'11 one for keeping the emergency essentials/nav on me while hiking as its half the weight.
@@BOOSTEDLASER yeah the quality must be pretty good. Ended up getting the 5’11 one but the HPG seems to have an easier adjustment system. For my load out the size seems to be prefect, and the padding is comfortable on my chest.
I have the HillPeople gear SAR KIT BAG - FULL size. A little too large for what I use it for but it does have a pocket for concealled carry. Would like to see a list of the gear you use for creating your videos (drones and camera equipment)..
If you don’t mind me asking. How tall and what your weight is? Also, have you found anything that has worked better since filming this? I plan to use this for long runs 6+ miles. Trying to decide between this one, Viktos Low key rig, Janji Sling and a Athletipack Tactical. Not sure if you researched any of those before buying the 5.11.
@@sonsofsever I’m the same size. I just want to carry my 43 or 365XL along with maybe a small water bottle without having to worry about bouncing. I also found Strike Industries makes the Boogeyman but their aren’t any reviews
@@anthonyb1426 I didn’t know strike made one. I’ll look into it but I think this one would be really solid depending on the holster setup you get for it
The pull tab leaves a little hole in the zipper that gets you started when it’s exposed. The zippers glide pretty well so that does the rest for you. Grip and rip and it’ll all come open real quick
You can buy the Velcro piece with the female end on the G-Code website. Then the holster obviously has the male end of the attachment system on it. I believe it’s called the RTI system. Most holster makers will offer it as an attachment method for their owb drop holsters. The specific holster company is Mckinatec holsters and it is their “drop zone” holster
I’ve found that one to be a little flimsy personally. But to each is own. We have another one from FHF gear we’re gonna review here soon. None of the three of these are anything alike haha
@@JohnDoe-zb7dz nope. They just put one on both corners. You can expose either one depending on your hand. I have a firearm specific video on this pack coming out on my personal channel SeverShoots. Go subscribe and you’ll see if when it releases Saturday
