Superlative singing, but who is the Soprano? Curious presentation, and yet, it works for me... would very much like to see more of this... only then would it be possible to make a fair judgement. And let's be honest... so many "modernistic" takes on 19th Century Operas are, in general, way off the mark... the Librettists & Composers that created them must be cringing in their heaven or hell! But, very occasionally, the most way-out production can actually bring fresh perspective to a familiar piece... doesn't seem to happen too often! Hope to see the full Metropolitan Opera "Faust" posted soon....
Kauffman and that schreechy soprano are awful. Kaifmann keeps darkening his voice and it doesn't suit him at all. Opera is just awful now, which is sad. Faust ends with the chorale not him collapsing in the floor as an old man. What the hell is wrong with these stage directors
@@Yorick10314 It's a shame, what they are doing to the final of this great opera all over the world today. They are ignoring Gounod's music and are presenting freak shows.
