5 21 2022 Tri-Glide Ed says the reason I haven't been on my 2020 Tri-Glide is my legs hurt.

I just wanted to let ya'll know that the reason I haven't put out any videos recently is that my old legs have really been hurting for about the last 6 weeks. But the past almost 2 weeks my right leg hurts so bad it's hard to stand let alone walk. I went to the VA this past Monday and got steroid shot and some medicines, but so far no help. I just wanted ya'll to know. Respectfully, Ed

Hi Ed! Sorry you are under the weather with your leg issues. I appreciate you contacting your channel and letting us know what is going on! I was hit in 17 and my hip and right leg get a little unstable now and then. Hoping for a speedy resolution with your issue and you are in our prayers. You will bounce back and your knees will be in the breeze again.

Welcome to the "70's" Bob. So far no relief. I emailed my primary care person yesterday at the VA and she said if I haven't heard from the people who schedule MRI's at the VA in Salem in a day or so to go back to the Urgent Care area for a "recheck". Johnny I appreciate you watching. I went to my surgeon for the first time since my surgery this past Friday. I'm free to "ease" my way back to doing stuff. So....I rode my Tri-Glide Saturday for the first time in a little over 5 months. I did a short ride of about 45 miles and was okay. I did do a video and am working on it now. Ed, I am very sorry to hear what is going on with your health. Just do what doctors tell you to do! As I told you I just had quadruple bypass surgery and I’m taking it easy and it’s tough for a guy like me. But I gave up control and just do what they tell me to do. I will say a prayer for you. You’ll will be on the bike again this summer.

LoD know that I sure appreciate your prayers. My old right legs hurts to stand on it and to walk but we gotta stand and we gotta walk. It's not getting any better with the shot and meds I got this past Monday at the VA. I went to the Urgent Care area and the doctor told me that if it doesn't get any better to get with my Primary Care person so it looks like that's what I'm going to do. You take care of yourself LoD. Ed, you might want to look at a company called “SoftBrake”! I’ve put this on my last 3 Harley-Davidson, it lowers the Brake Pedal so you don’t have to raise your leg so high to put your brake on. Also are you taking a pill called “Rosuvastatin” if you are check with your Doctor if you can lower the dosage! By the way my name is Bob, please think of every way to get better, what would Harvey do with out you, and your family!

@@Trooper738 Hey Bob the Rosuvastatin is the cholesterol medicine I stopped taking about a month ago. I had been on that statin for about 16-18 years. All the other statins made my muscles hurt in my legs with a month or so of starting them. This was the only one that did not make my muscles hurt...well not right away for sure. I emailed my Primary Care lady yesterday telling her that non of the meds, or shot, they gave me have done any good. As a matter of fact I'm hurting more. I will wait to see what she says, hopefully tomorrow. And thank you for your kind words Bob. Most Respectfully, Ed

I have been laid up this much since 1972 when I tore my left knee up on my first motorcycle. Yes I was young had been out of the Navy a little over a year. Got drunk, real drunk and decided I was going to take a ride. After 2 operations and a year and a half out of work I was better. So yeah I’m ready. How you doing brother?

I love my Tri Glide! The main difference is steering because you can't lean which does mean the handlebars require more effort to turn. I find that if you stiffen your outside arm and push from the shoulder it's easier and you can use your inside arm to kind of "fine tune" the turn. Don't put your feet down when you stop. I heard of someone who did that and when the trike rolled forward the rear tire broke his ankle. Otherwise it's not really different from riding any other motorcycle except that you have to be constantly aware of how wide it is.

After watching several of your video's, I had some 12" Bars, new grips (with the palm rest), chrome vent cover, luggage rack with lights, Willie G Skull Derby Cover and a set of 4" racing Rhineharts (with the black tip) put on. Really have enjoyed the Trike. You helped me make up my mind after watching your videos, much appreciated. Hope your legs are getting better, stay safe.

I’m so glad to hear that you’re addressing the same issues that I’ve been facing. I’m also in your age range, 73, and a disabled Air Force veteran and I’m a avid follower of you/your videos. You are an inspiration to me because I purchased my 2021 Harley Davidson Tri Glide Trike in October of last year and after finding you/your videos I was enjoying everything you posted. I’ve yet to get to my 1,000 mile point on the vehicle due to my leg and vision issues. Now the extreme heat here in Texas is becoming problematic but I’m determined to ride my trike and intend to for as long as I can. Please stay as healthy as you can and keep riding your Harley. I’m praying that you and I will stay in the saddle for many more miles/years.

Hey Ed. I’m sorry to hear about your leg bothering you. I know about how high cholesterol statins can be a double edge sword. Great for clobbering cholesterol, but can and does cause muscle pain for folks like me. I also backed away from my Atorvastatin over the last couple of days because of pain in my bicep. My bicep is feelin better, but my cholesterol might be gettin’ up there too. Darned if you do and darned if you don’t. I’m gonna be prayin for you brother.😎

Leewelchons they have scheduled an MRI and put me on some muscle relaxer yesterday but so far no help. I know I have to give the medicine some time. But gosh my legs is hurting bad. Take care, Ed

@@leewelchons I went back to the VA this past Thursday. My primary care lady gave me some muscle relaxers and oxycodone. I'm to take 1 muscle relaxer twice a day. I don't know how long it takes for these to start working but they ain't come close yet. She said that if the muscle relaxers don't help with the pain to use the oxycodone 5mg pills. She also got with the people that do MRI's at the VA and they will call for the appointment, but I ain't to sure how long I can stand this...whew, I ain't never hurt this bad. If I have to I can go to the emergency room at the VA, but I'm trying to hold off as long as I can. I hope I can give an positive update real soon. Respectfully, Ed

@@TriGlideEd Wow Ed, you really are having a difficult time. Be careful with that Oxy and if they don’t find the cause soon I would be looking for another orthopedic doctor that is more proactive on finding the cause of your pain. Will continue to pray you recover soon, God Bless.

Darren I will try to do that early next week. Darren I am scheduled to have back surgery week after next and I am excited to do it!! I feel much better than I did 3 weeks ago but gosh I just can't hardly do anything, which is what everyone wants me doing. I want to get back to me mowing the grass, me doing the weedeating, me going out to help at church. I'm retired but my wife still works a full time job. Sorry to hear about the legs, Ed. I'm 71 and have had a double by-pass and two years ago, a liver transplant. But, I'm selling my '03 Heritage and my '06 Ultra Classic to begin riding the 2011 Tri-Glide I just purchased. Ken as your sitting on your bike look to the right on the inner fairing and you’ll see a cigarette type plug. My friend Harvey told me when I got my bike that I had one and of course I said “amp I don’t” then he said “Look right here” and there it was. Also you have a USB type connector on the right hand side on the small door that opens. Hope this helps. Also when Harvey showed me I had to get down and look up towards the fairing. Hope this helps. Maybe the best medicine for the leg is some good ol fresh air. I would prescribe 2 nice rides on the triglide per week. Get well soon.

Thank Darren. Yeah I got word this past Tuesday that I have "Severe Spinal Stenosis". And it hurts like the dickens. Now waiting on the Dr. at the VA for a consult on how to proceed. Take care, Ed

Good morning windsurfed1. About the same. I have Severe Spinal Stenosis and I go see a Neurosurgeon next week...thank goodness. We'll see what the doc says. It hurts to walk any distance and hurts to stand so I'm sitting...A LOT! My wife has been doing my usual jobs of mowing, weedeating etc. Take care and I hope you got your knees in the breeze :-) Respectfully, Ed

@@TriGlideEd I’m glad that you are progressing towards and answer but also a solution to your issue. Also I told you that I had legend’s shocks put on my trike but if you plan on doing the rears make sure you also get the plates that make the shocks 2 inches higher big difference in the ride. Shocks (REAR) are $900 and the lift kit is $200.00 but worth every dime. You take care and God Bless!
