Raw footage of the Parkersburg, Iowa EF-5 tornado that damaged or destroyed a major portion of the city.
Footage starts just prior to the tornado forming and continues as the several tornadoes that formed with the storm system moves off to the east north east.

My grandson was in his mom's arms in the basement, in Parkersburg. He was 2 weeks old. They and the house survived. Thank God.

Most chasers I know would've called off the chase, and helped with search and rescue.

Every chaser worth his salt would have stopped to help, these chasers clearly are amateurs parading like experts.

Pretty sure the firemen know how to do their job. They dont need you to tell them.

I do not understand why they did not stop and assist the people that had just gotten a direct hit, but instead went on to chase it.

This tornado was probably more intense than the Greensburg tornado. The Greensburg tornado swept away 7 homes in EF5 fashion but this tornado swept away 17 homes in EF5 fashion. Also the debris from some of the homes swept away was granulated into tiny pieces. The Greensburg tornado left piles of rubble but did not granulate debris like this tornado did.

I will never forget how larger the clouds got with this storm. I lived about 30 miles north and it had broken two vapor barriers at least. You didn't even have to hear of the warnings, you knew when you looked at those clouds that it was pretty bad.

Is it just me or did they film the back side of the storm? I don't think they actually filmed the tornado as much as they filmed the clouds behind it.

Great rescue mode. Get in the car and tell everyone what to do. May as well go home.

I don't know who Ben is, but telling the firefighters how to do their job isn't a great thing to do. He's pretty annoying.

With how busy 2011-2013 was, people forget some of the other years that were chaotic. 2008 had this monster, the Super Tuesday Outbreak and the Atlanta EF-2 through downtown.

This is why I watch Pecos Hank almost exclusively for tornado footage. He's humble. He helps people who need it. He stops chasing to check damaged houses. These guys could learn a few things from him.
