Broken spark plugs are common on Triton 4.6, 5.4, and 6.8L engines from 2004-2008. So I show you how to replace the spark plugs and minimize the chance of breaking the spark plug in a 5.4L Triton V8 in my Expedition. Some people get lucky and are able to remove the spark plugs from their 5.4 without breaking them and without doing any extra steps, but you want to do everything you can not to break them. A little patience can save you a lot of time. Each spark plug that breaks in your 5.4L can add over an hour of time to the job, depending on the extractor tool you are using; some are faster than others. The 3V 4.6L and 5.4L is found in many Ford and Lincoln vehicles including Expedition, F-150, F-250, Navigator, Explorer, Mark LT, Mountaineer, F-53 motorhome, Ford Mustang GT.
