King Solomon, Was a Very Interesting Personality... Wise! But, As Being A Mere Man had A Multitude of Charter Flaw's As do any Other mere Human being!!! Wisdom is More Precious than Gold... But, He Allowed his Wives to Worship Other God's, Within Jerusalem! And, With all of His Wisdom, He Himself Started to Worshiped those Idols.... In his Mind, He Disobeyed GODS First COMMANDMENT!!! King Solomon's life was a tragic betrayal of what he knew to be true. He committed idolatry in his later years and we should not look to such a bad example to find success in God's eyes. The wisdom of the true King Jesus is more valuable than this failed one. To seek only success in this life is as bad as those Prosperity Gospel preachers!
Not at all. The Book of Proverbs is in the canon and so is part of God's Word. Yet in reading Proverbs, one must read it with Jesuis Christ as the Word Incarnate in mind. The Lord's words should trump the generalised wisdom in Proverbs. Sololmon is a tragic exmaple of the fall of the mighty and let us not idolized this man - at best, his wisdom is partially true. The Book of Proverbs has been woefully overlooked by pastors. It reaally hits the center of mankinds' souls talking about fools and being foolish etc. These days it is more of an insult to call someone a fool than to hurl invectives of one curse word after another. The world abounds with fools and foolishness. Let's learn to listen more and speak less.
