The Bible can be a tad bit tricky, especially when it comes to popular sayings that were used in those times when the bible was written. Haven't said that, the term "under the sun" meant/means without God. So when reading the book of Ecclesiastes, it merely stresses all your works, and riches accumulated, and basically, everything is meaningless (under the sun). The Sun is also symbolically used to describe Jesus/God in other books within the bible...'
Great work love this! This was very tastefully done but let us not forget it was the Catholic Church (CC) that gave us the Bible and it was God who inspired it's writers. To say God gave us the Bible is to remove his Church from the scene which was of course why Christ came to earth. He didn't just give us salvation 2000 years ago he gave us ALL (Catholic = Universal) a Church to guide us and keep us on the straight and narrow until judgement day. The Bible can easily be misinterpreted and you can quickly be taken off the path of righteousness if you are left to interpret her pages alone (i.e., there are over 30K varieties of Christianity but only one that goes back to the line of Peter, CC) You have to place your trust in Jesus and know he truly did come here to give us a guide (The Holy Spirit/Ghost) which really does guide the Church to this day. I'm not saying everything the Catholic Church does or say's should be taken as equal to the Gospels but if you completely throw her out you better be careful you don't throw the baby out with the bath water and that my friend may be impossible without her many teachings (i.e., The Catechism/The Saints/Marian Apparitions, Church Fathers). With all that said some of the best people I have ever met were protestants and when you meet them you knew the spirit of God dwells inside them. I do believe and know that if you desire God so much he will find a way into your heart and I'd be lying if I said I didn't see that among his many protestant followers especially in the South (God Bless the Southerners for they give me hope). However, the Catholic Church teaches (I think as a precaution) that their is no salvation outside the Catholic Church. So what does that mean for all of you protestant's? I can only think of one thing. It means one time in your life before you die seek out a Catholic Priest confess your sins and receive (communion) the Lord of Lords worthily and in Jesu's words you would have gained entrance to the kingdom of heaven and be worthy to see his Father in Heaven. Sadly most people will never get this simple message as the devil knows it's easier to deceive man than it is to convince him he has been deceived. Beat the devil at his worst trick of all time and unite yourself with Christ while you still can. What do you have to lose? If you were raised to stay way from the CC and it would bring shame to your family then this one time maybe go it alone and trust in God that you're doing the right thing. Pray on it. God Bless! I built a national company with 200 locations using proverbs when I was in my 20's. Hiring, firing, business, partnerships, its all in there. Still read it everyday and have my mind blown. Each sentence is deeper than you can imagine. It generally makes even more sense after you lived it. I could take any sentence and give 10 examples on how it's been experienced in my life. Its all true and everyone has access to this insane information. I dont even read self help books anymore... proverbs and ecclesiasties is on another level. Read a little bit everyday... and I do mean it little bit because each verse is worth an hour of talking and thinking about.
Thanks for sharing. Im entering my 30’s this year and still trying to figure this life out. I came to Christ in 2013 and have always been amazed by the wisdom in Proverbs and Ecclesiastes. I love self-help books but sometimes I get so tired of reading and studying and this morning I went back to Ecclesiastes 12 bc the scripture “much study is a weariness to the flesh” came to mind and the entire chapter summarizes what was most important for me to remember. All this chasing and striving after the wind is meaningless without God. I desired to build wealth and what not but to what end if not God? All these thoughts led me to this video, and to your comment. I feel a whole lot better now coming back to the simple truths and what truly matters that is laid out in scripture.
@Lionizing Legends yeah most books have to be filled with a lot of fluff so they can sell it. Realistically most books only need to be 10 pages or less to get the general idea across. Congrats on finding Christ. As life wrecks you, never let go. Even if you fall back into sin... never let go. It seems he let's us learn things the hard way if we choose. I just look at life as a game at this point since it rarely works out the way you invisioned. A big part of growing up is letting go of what you thought life would be like. As for striving... I can say it's worth it to become financially free. However... I think life was better when I had a job working with others. Everything absolutely is meaningless and can end any time. The hardest part is not getting sucked back into the cares and vanity of the world... and for most men that is the desire for women. We get sucked into so much bad stuff... and the root of it is to chase and please women. Just like Adam did with Eve. We really are cursed. Right on brother I'm so happy for you. Keep on keeping on just remember that it's not about this life. We will start living at the next life... so don't get too bent out of shape about this one. Having a good social circle is the biggest secret to being content and pulling through the pain of life. Invest into that the most if you can. Family and friends. Jump into these awesome writings when you can. They always bring peace for a moment.

She told him to listen twice, and in verse 2 -3says do not spend your strength (or wealth) on women, your vigor on those who ruins kings. I will keep Solomons story in mind, but God is always on my mind. Yeshua showed us the way, but we fall and stumble and get lost all the time. Saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.
That's not what the gospel says. IT says if you believe in your heart and call upon his name. Seems too easy because this form of salvation is only being saved from this age into the 1000 years. To be saved for eternity you must overcome the world.

Seek the wisdom of the Lord! I went from not knowing God to seeking His ways. Through His ways I see more of God. He gifted salvation to me, as I was wanting to disprove His existence. I open the Bible and started to read His words, I became undone in shame for all I did against God, I repented. He took my soul and comforted me during my hardest trial, He provided when I still kept doubting Him. He corrected me so I may find His blessings! I surrender my soul to Jesus Christ, because I know He is good and I can trust in Him. I believe He is the creator! I want to share because this is what God wants but also, I know people deep down want to know God. Let go of yourself and surrender to Jesus Christ. Read and study His word, pray and ask God questions.
I've reached the twilight of my life and for all I've lost in terms of loved one, time, and strength, I humbly hope I've gained in wisdom. I've learned that in love and forgiveness there is freedom and peace. I know that sounds cliché and glib, but It's the truth. There is no greater freedom in one's being, mind and soul than to forgive and love those who have wronged you as much as those who have not. Therein lies the secret.

I tried as a child to be very faithful, because I was afraid. Now that I'm in my thirties, I want to say that I am less afraid, but unfortunately, have much less faith in general. Today I see all religion as a crutch for those who cannot face reality as it is, but honestly... I don't blame anyone for doing it. I respect their beliefs. I personally believe that there's more to it than this, as well as the existence of things far beyond our understanding. I just don't think it's in this book I've been taught to believe my whole life. Who knows? Maybe all these religions get something right. However, I can say that I do good not because I want to go to heaven, but because I want to do good, and because the people I love raised me right. If at the end there is nothing, I know I'll rest easy either way.
I'm not a Christian but I've seen people go to hell. I don't ever want to do that to myself. Getting old and still being a selfish child that likes to set fires all around them has terrible consequences. Loving people and the world around you that you don't like is so very important. If you’re not sure and have no hope about what happens after you die. I would encourage you to read this. For us Christians we understand that we cannot force anyone to believe in Jesus, heaven or hell. All’s we can do is to show you the narrow way that leads to everlasting life. A Savior from what? From hell, and the lake of fire!! Hell is God’s permanent prison where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth and no way out, burning for eternity. You don’t have to end up in Hell. Don’t miss heaven!! It’s a free gift that was bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus! This life we have here is but a vapor. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 16: 24-26 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? John 3: 5-6 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. So here is the over view: you’re dead in your sins and apart from God as long as you are willfully continuing to live in sin and on the wide path that leads to hell. you need a savoir to keep you out of hell. Jesus is the only way to be saved and your only way to have eternal life. you must confess your sins and repent. No longer living in willful sin. you can confess your sins right now! not to me not to a priest but right now in the humble sincerity of your heart to Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,) you must be born again, have faith, believe, and put all your trust in Jesus Christ and now let his will be done for you in your life. I just want for whoever doesn’t know Jesus to take the free the gift that I received 9 years ago when gave my life to Jesus. you can know you are saved. As Christians our hope, joy and peace comes from Jesus and knowing that his finished work on the cross was enough to save us. Your very soul the real you, depends on what you chose to do next. Joshua 24:15 But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” If you have a bible but don’t know where to start reading. My suggestion is to start in the book of John. I know you will receive Gods blessings and gain faith in Jesus. Romans 10: 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Life here on earth is short compared to eternity. Give your life to Jesus the today!
Perhaps you could determine an author's age by their wisdom, I'm not sure you can make that claim about the wisest man ever. On that note nothing he ever wrote strikes me as particularly wise, or even just above the standards of his own time.

No one here is mentioning that Ecclesiastes is the Book you need to read if your faith in Christ has come to a standstill and you really don't know what to do to jump-start your faith. All I'm getting is "life is pointless without God." Ecclesiastes was written regarding the non-believer and the believer alike because life slaps us both around and we have the same destiny, which is death.
How could God demand devotion, instil fear and threaten punishment and damnation through judgement? This does not sound like God, this sounds like man.. Why are we here, what is the point.. to worship a book and concept made by man.. I try to be good, I help when I can help but I feel I am in constant pain and torment and every single person I have encountered, every institution that has been forced upon me , ruthlessly takes what I have, uses me for their own gain and everywhere I turn there is sin and mistreatment. This is not the work of God and we cannot be made in the image of God if this is what God is. Corruption, greed and evil has enslaved this world and everyone cowers behind locked doors waiting for someone or something to come down and save them while enacting vengeance on the wicked.. I fear the good book of today has been corrupted and changed because god should be something in our hearts, not depicted in words in a language he did not speak and fear, worship and punishment could not be the heart of God..

Believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and rose from the dead three days later and repent of sin. Judgement is coming to this world. Also repent consistently. Jesus is coming soon. At any moment you can die and if your not right with Christ you would go to hell. If you died right now would you go to heaven or hell
God is within you. God is within us all. Ever present and watching and when you deny god you also deny yourself and others around you. A slippery slope indeed.
Yea. Solomon, the king that had it all which God have to him. He forgot about Him and sometimes I ask myself, “who are we to have the privilege of going about our business and forgetting about Him, The Creator?” We have that privilege and sometimes I don’t know why.
I guess you don’t understand what Christ redemptive work meant. his last and final sacrificial act means that those who believe in him their sins are blotted out from existence you enter his kingdom white as snow your sins are no longer with you.through his blood we have been redeemed there is absolutely nothing that a human being can do to affect his salvation.if there was that would make christ irrelevant.
Ecclesiastes is my favorite book in he Bible. It is not saying everything that is important is meaningless. At the end it explains what is truly important in life. Family is one of those. Life can be cruel and thoughtless. Death can strike at any time life is short. So focus on what’s really important, your family, and don’t regard the unimportant things we blow up out of proportion. That is the message of Ecclesiastes. Also, I would advise not discounting Solomon’s opinion as you did. He asked for wisdom from God and God gave it to him. His life was about collecting knowledge and understanding the spiritual underpinnings of Creation. His time in foreign lands with foreign gods was part of his journey. I believe that Ecclesiastes shows that he came back to the One he prayed to from the beginning. Whatever your hand finds to do, do with all your might. To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. There are many great verses in the book, but it is meant to be read as a whole. The Bible was originally written as books. There were no verses. Sometimes reading the Bible in verses can cause you to miss the whole point of a book and what it was getting at.

Absolutely excellent advice. At 80 years old now, I finally tell my children and grandchildren that when they read in Scripture to "Fear God", so many of the teachers (and readers) of this advice attempt to downplay the word 'FEAR". Why?! Are those advisor's afraid that to tell them to fear may alienate them? God created all things in this universe with a spoken Word, and these days in which we are now living I believe are 'the closing of this play' and 'the curtain is about to be lowered on this creation', everything we (should) see going on around us in this world is pointing to the fact that we are living in the 'last days'! My question would be to all "Why shouldn't we fear Him'? He created all we see; He holds all power within His hands. If you believe that we have free choice I would say to you that the wisest thing to do then is for each of us to 'FEAR GOD'! "FEAR MEANS FEAR"! HE Loves His Creation and would like to see all of it saved! Of course the opposite is more Truthful, as it says in the Scriptures; "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." (Matthew vii.14. One of the most powerful Man , that has ever existed. But for the pleasure of women, he almost was lost, He new better, than all of us together. I read his books, when He went away from God, and all the witches together in existence today, don’t have the power, that this Man had, to control, release, and manipulate the forces of hell.
