5 AMAZING Riffs from the Bark At The Moon Album: • 5 AMAZING Riffs From T... In this video I am using three Charvels: Charvel Super Stock So Cal Charvel So Cal MIJ ('Snow White') Charvel San Dimas MIL ('Candy')
I think Jake E Lee was an under rated guitarist. Same with Vivian Campbell. You played these beautifully and with a nice vibrato! I always believed your tone comes from your fingertips, even more so than the actual make up of the guitar. Proof? Joe Satriani sounds like Joe Satriani on a 100 dollar wal mart guitar or his js series ibanez. Excellent video. I subbed and smashed the like button. Im looking forward to watching more. You are fun to listen to!! Cheers brother!
@@CameronCooper awesome. Im gonna check out bark at the moon since i know a few of those tunes myself..really enjoyed your technique and tone. Great job and thanks for the reply! Looking forward to watching more vids so keep em coming!
Funny you mentioned Jake E Lee and Viv Campbell. Not sure if you know but after Jake E Lee wrote all the rhythms for the Dio Holy Diver album he the got the call from Ozzy to join his band. Viv played all the solos on Holy Diver, which were incredible, so really you got the best of both guitarist on Holy Diver. One of the greatest metal albums out there.
@@ryanholt9884 no shit? That is quite unreal! So its not a coincidence that i think these two guys are incredibly under rated. As a player I love the challenge of trying their music. As a fan I just love their music. It's win win . Thanks for that cool bit of info!
Jake E. Lee's guitar work on Ultimate Sin and Bark at the Moon is sooo underrated. I mean, just look at that chord work and guitar arrengement on these songs, the guy was already a very advanced guitar player at that time; beautiful and exotic chords and inversions, great taste for guitar tones and killer vibrato and note choice. He's on the same league of Warren de Martini and George Lynch; southern California guitar players, post-Van Halen guys that were very influenced by them, but took the whole game a few steps further, in therms of creating richer and more beautiful guitar parts. Jake E. Lee; a very inspired player and influential player, and definitly, my favourite Ozzy guitar player of all
I have always believed Jake was a wildly creative super Rock God. I am 52yrs. Nearly 40yrs if Rock guitar .... I play and practice. His level for that time extends in to these days . Such good music.... ahhh nostalgia. Good vid.
The Ultimate Sin is my all time favorite Ozzy album, if not one of my all time favorite albums ever. I still listen to it on a regular basis. So much excellent guitar work on this album. One of the reasons, Jake is my favorite guitarist! Just listen to all those little fills, and unique rhythms!
I'm with you Tim. Ultimate Sin is on my constant replay list. Just like you I love listening the guitar parts over everything else. It's what pulls me to the album.
The Ultimate sin is also my favorite. Man back in 1986 I was mowing lawns for old people to earn money to but this on Tape, Yes tape cassette.its awesome & great that you know & like this stuff Camron! Keep Rocking!
a lot of people talk smack about this album but Jakes parts on it were phenomenal. Some of his best out of the box thinking, phrasing and playing of his career.
Those Jake chords are so rich, with all the cool overtones. And the outro solo to "Never know why," will always be my fave (also the main one in Lightning Strikes.)
Jake was crazy food and soooo under appreciated by everyone..including me. I knew he was great but I didn’t realize HOW great until I started watching these type of videos. Dude was nuts both rhythm and lead
The album Ozzy had little input on. He was hammered from Drugs and Alcohol during this time. Jake did most of the work. Sharon did Jake wrong. She's a horrible person.
@@jay-shredds NMT kinda has a good bit of filler imo. At that point I think Ozzy was just genre hopping to find something that he could work with. Because…grunge fucked everything up. Metal (even hair metal) was the superior genre, at least talent wise, but more of the teens were drawn to grunge/alternative. One of the big reasons as to why I think the 1990s is a lot more uncanny than the 80s.
Excellent job! Jake has such a unique approach to his playing. It’s bullshit how the Ozzy camp treats Jake E Lee like crap. Everyone knows who wrote those songs. Totally immoral.
Man you are nailing it! Killer of Giants solo, wow ! I haven't seen anybody truly transcribing Jake like this, plus nailing the vibe and tones...please do more !
You are honestly my favorite inspiration on youtube. I grew up playing and perfecting 80s guitar, in the 2010s just like you. I'm 25. Literally everyone I show guitar like this to drops their jaw. I just relearned a bunch of Jake E lee ozzy because of you bro. Never stop uploading. I can tell by your talent your favorite thing to do is shut the world out and play your ass off. God bless you bro. I'd like to see you get in a band if you're not already in one
nah man that's the way Jake played it, the two hand chord slides, not a simulation! Check out "The Ultimate Ozzy" video from 87 to see Jake playing a lot of the record.
Its almost like seeing Jake play live, speaking of which I actually did see Jake play live a couple of days ago in Pittsburgh Pa. The band, Red Dragon Cartel and they blew the roof off the place, easily the best concert i have ever seen. The band was amazing and Jake was other worldly. Your playing brings out all the subtleties that i see in Jake's playing. I have seen a ton of other rock guitarists but Jake is clearly in a class by himself. Love your videos.
I'm so flattered thanks so much! I was actually told by a friend i Detroit that Jake has watched my videos! Could not believe it! Jake is my favourite Ozzy guitarist! :)
Cameron, one other thing, i actually attended the meet and greet in Pittsburgh and if you have never met Jake in person i would strongly recommend it. Jake is one first class individual, down to earth and will answer any questions, the entire band was the same way. One thing i noticed about Jake is that he seems to always have a grin on his face, he's enjoying himself and he conveys that to the public. I really enjoy your videos and love that you help to bring Jake to the forefront. Thanks again and love watching you play.
Props to your Pops. I’m going to rant here a bit. I’ve been following you a bit and I hope you know just how much of what you are able to do stems from your dad, who I think is a very intuitive guy. First off, I’m old as hell and still play, but not as clean as you anymore by far. My hands are crapping out. When I was a kid in the 60’s, my dad gave me his old POS Silvertone acoustic. I’m right handed. It made zero sense to me why my left hand was supposed to do all the heavy lifting. Your dad, I’ll bet, questioned the same thing. You’re a lefty playing a righty! Aren’t you!? Brilliant! As it should be! And tone. He turned you on to tone and the gear that makes the best tone possible. That’s a major leg up my friend. Without that support, old school knowledge and early connection, which are all important things if you’re going to breed shredders, I doubt seriously you would be the great player we all know you to be. So go thank the old man, take him out for a steak or detail his car and remember where you are was built on where he was. BTW, it would be cool if you both recorded a jam session........just saying.
I usually don’t give likes or dislikes to any videos but in this case, WOW, Just simply WOW. It reminds me of when this music was great and why it was great. Thank you so much.
Fantastic guitar work on that album, it's one of my favorites for sure. Thanks for putting this up Cameron, great playing. My favorite off that album, even though the riff is not difficult, is Fool Like You. I just love the melody of the harmonics behind those power chords in the opening.
Also, I've never tried to play Never Know Why. That little alternating left hand, right hand sliding down D is pretty slick. It comes across like a delay, but what you did makes more sense. I found a video of Jake playing it and sure enough that's what he did.
Great job. Jake is the reason I started playing and the Ultimate Sin album is a ridiculously overlooked masterpiece in my opinion. Jake's playing is brilliant from top to bottom.
On top of being a phenomenal lead player I love his chord vocabulary!!! Very unique, full resounding chords that just kick ass. Great job as always Coop!🤘🏻😎✌🏼️
Damn!! Cameron!! This is incredible!! The killer of giants versus is absolutely amazing , your finger picking while picking is well bad ass. Eric Johnson skill there.. Your videos are wicked spot on!!! Your Definitely an inspiration cam!! your awesome positive attitude, confidence and amazing playing. Thank you for your videos. At 20 years plus playing I hope to be at your level some day.
Great work ,man...Ultimate is my favorite Ozzy album. No idea why it gets a bad rap from some.. Jake is just an incredible talent. Fantastic job you did there Cam.
3 years late, but I’ve read that it’s mostly because of the production. Both Ozzy and Jake had issues with the producer, Ron Nevison. Ozzy says all the songs sound the same, Jake with Bob Daisley wrote practically all songs except ‘shot in the dark’. however, Jake said that working with Ron Nevison was a pain, he said “when I walked into the studio, it was a question of ‘what will we argue about today?’”. Said that Ron would hear songs a certain way, and so the songs had to be wrote ‘his way’ (Ron’s way). Jake’s full creative freedom wasn’t actually on full display on the ultimate sin album I guess.
@@CameronCooper i agree buddy. I think a backing track is fine if someone is just randomly jamming but for such iconic real songs i much prefer just the pure guitar. Keep up the good work Cameron. Your Instagram page and RU-vid channel are epic.
Jake is one of my all time favorite guitarists. I bought Bark at the Moon as soon as it was released & Jake's playing blew me away! I was lucky enough to see both Bark at the Moon & The Ultimate Sin tours. Watching him play those humongous finger stretching licks was insane! Ozzy has a talent for picking the best! I think Brad Gillis KILLED it with Ozzy!! Speak of the Devil is one of my favorite albums & Ozzy has said he wasn't really happy with it. It's hard to find & a lot of people have never heard it before. Brad Gillis' playing on Fairies Wear Boots is just incredible! He has got to be one of the most under rated guitarists out there & it's a shame because he is amazing! Night Ranger has some great songs but his playing on those old Sabbath tunes is KILLER!! Loved the video dude! Watching you play these Ozzy tunes has made me drag out Bark & Sin albums & play along with them. Haven't done that in a long time man! Thanks for the inspiration! Keep doing the good stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🤘😁🤘
Eeerrttttt! Why is it all crazy hard to play. I'm an old player...lol... bought BATM cassette...played on my walkman.. Sony. Every moment I could spare. I was 13 1983. Still love it.
Hello Cam sir, That was absolutely incredible as usual! Loved killer of giants. Please do no rest for the wicked and No More Tears albums! I agree totally with one of the other posts, your sound through the thr blows away the album. Just incredible!
These series are brilliant, thank you so much! I love the spotlight on Jake E Lee, such a creative genius. Now, if only I had the time to learn this stuff ...
Another amazing video. I wish you could show your signal chains, and even amp settings for these. Your playing, your sound, and tone are all spot on. Nice work
Would love if you could do more from the ultimate sin bro! You nail JEL’s playing and, judging by this video, you agree TUS is one of Ozzy’s most “riff-heavy” albums. To be honest I love every song off the album aside from Secret Loser lol any of them would make a kickass lesson or tone video
Thanks man! I like some of the Ultimate Sin album. I included my favourites in this video and left the rest out. Like you, Secret Loser I don't enjoy and cringe when I hear it aha
@@CameronCooper ah right on man! Now that I think about it I think Thank God for the Bomb is on there too and I just physically shuddered hearing the chorus in my head as I typed that out haha
Great job playing these!! I loved this album in High School. Jake was such a great player and wrote great music with Bob Daisley. I wish that he could have made more Ozzy albums with Bob. I much prefer Jake and Randy than Zakk. Zakk was talented too, I just prefer the writing styles of Jake and Randy.
Man those arrangements that Jake put together ,are just mad! Especially the killer of Giants ,I was playing that completely wrong .Spending the next hour straightening it out.Man thanks for the lesson.
Everything about this was choice...UNTIL..... YOU OVERLOOKED THANK GOD FOR THE BOMB!!! Was so looking forward to it...oh well, consider this a request..😁
