A lot of it's not about how the hair looks, it's about you not being used to it and not being comfortable with it yet. It's all new and kinda scary. Been growing my hair out for 4-5 years and it takes frickin ages to get used to it as well as just keeping on experimenting with the cut and the whole washing and styling method, which especially the last bit you have to change loads between different lengths. Yeah just persevere if you're growing it out, I feel like with long hair, your gonna have days where you feel it looks terrible so use a hat or bun or just reset with a wash if you have time. Yeah there will be bad days but the good days are like way better than when you have short hair, at least for me.
I’m a woman, this year I decided to grow my hair from an ultra short length. Since the beginning of the year I’ve only had 2 very lite trims and have weathered through the difficult stages of hair growth. I can now clip my hair back and it’s nice and tidy and it’s getting volume. I like your advice and it’s very true to what I have been doing myself. I’m 67 by the way so I figured it’s either now or never that I grow my hair. I don’t intend getting another trim until January . Cheers from Australia and I’ve given you a like.
I decided to grow my hair out in December of 2018. Now it took nearly 8 months til I could tie it all up and even then it wasn't that great. Now i'm 14 months in and can put my bun anywhere on my head and it looks great. There was definitely a time where people would tell me to get a haircut while I was in the awkward stage but I just told them would you tell Jesus to get a haircut? Then after some time I started actually getting compliments on my hair when it's up or down. So ignore the haters and grow your hair out.
@@justmike8872 No. Hes saying that since the typical trope or idea of Jesus is that he had long, dark, beautiful hair, would you tell Jesus to get his hair cut? But since he had beautiful hair, the answer should obviously be no... He is implying that he is on his journey to grow out his hair but he is not at the 'Jesus-hairstyle' phase yet, since its still growing. I thought that was pretty obvious, how did you miss that?
I've been growing my hair for 7-8 months now and I've faced this, but the difference is I don't have straight hair, and the worst part about it is I didn't even knew I had curly hair until I started growing them 🤣
Guys the thing is i like the texture of Luca's hair. I mean his face shape is like that every other hairstyle would suit on his face. Second thing is texture, he has a smoooth texture. If we have curly or wavy, it is okay but these hair should have texture or atleast should be healthy so that curls or waves looks good. I have some friends whose hair looks kinda Grass, fully damaged.
I did it when he first was shown in the manga with the bun Now I'm doing again lol it's just so good seeing it in the anime just made me want to do it again
I have been trying to grow my hair out for years. Your channel helps me gain the motivation I once lost. Thank you for this insightful video and keep it up.
Luca your hair is actually an inspiration. I haven't had long long hair in many years and I looked up to you when you had the undercut and now I'm looking up to you with the hair you have now. Stay true and as always have a great day!
The part where he pinned the side of his hair was when I subbed. My hair can already tie into a medium sized bun but i faded the sides and I just realised that I want to grow out the sides as well so I'm glad I found this video, thank you.
Spent the last couple hours watching your vids and love them! I'm currently at this stage where I can't yet do a full bun. Got to power on! - thanks for the tips!
Yeah i started from september as well.. i should have cut all my hair off so it can start to grow with the same lenght, but i started with a lot more hair on top of my head.. now the sides are killing me. I plan to trim it when the top layers of hair are long enough because i dont want it to be layered
My hair is sitting at around 14 inches. It sucks having baby hairs or frizzy hair at times, but it’s definitely a change from my quiff style hair. Great video!
I’ve been growing my hair out for a min and beanies are my best friend, it’s so easy to make your hair look good in the akward stage or if you don’t want to mess with it
Ive been growing my hair out for like 4 months in now, and I absolutely love my hair. I finished school last year so I dont have anymore stupid regulations to follow.
I remember watching this video about a year ago when I was just having a dilemma on cutting my hair when it was in an awkward stage. Fast-forward to today, my hair is now longer than yours in this video. These tips really helped a lot
I'm here on behalf of my boyfriend who neglected to go to the barber before quarantine set in and they all closed. I adore long hair on blokes and want him to keep it so thanks for the tips!
I'm about5&1/2 months into growing my hair out, I have dark thick curly hair. And I am just reaching the real awkward stage on the sides, so I have been using a lot of hats caps things like that, how long did it take you to get your hair as long as it is in this video? Also thank you for the tips!!! Cheers and have a great day
This was very helpful and inspiring, I’m current going through this process and experiencing the issues that you resolved with the top about Bobby pins! Now I’m inspired to try that and continue growing out my hair! Thanks :)
Really missed you and your videos!!! You are truly an inspiration for me to actually go through with this and grow my hair out. Lol. I've been doing it for almost 4 months now and I'm actually not feeling too bad about the awkward stage you can say lol. Keep the videos coming! Much love.
Omg I’m also in that awkward stage where the sides aren’t long enough yet, I hate it 😂. I clip them too, like you said. I’m a Mexican trying to reconnect to my native roots but my hair is so straight that it looks like a bob cut in this stage it’s in haha. Looking forward to tying it up in a bun and braiding it tho.
Idk why this video pops out but this video is what i need. I'm in the middle of growing my hair too and being in formal business industry is quite hard for me to keep my hair longer but looking neat
Wish I found this sooner lol. Used to grow my hair out for a year (May '18 - May '19) and got it to an almost shoulder length pony tail. Didn't do any maintenance trim or any products, just natural growth. My Asian unability to grow facial hair and a fairly feminine complexion did not help at all haha. Don't have long hair anymore but it was a fun journey.
ik this comment was around 2 years ago but i’m currently growing my hair, it’s been about half a year and i haven’t gotten a haircut except for thinning, how short was your hair to start when you started growing it?
I'm so glad someone on RU-vid has non curly long hair because literally all of the others I've seen have wavy or curly hair and it makes me jealous because I have straight flappy hair 😂
Great video mate, currently in the awkward stage of about 3 inches of hair in the front and 2 inches max in the back. And about an inch max on the sides and back. But I want to get to the classic pomade slick back hair style. Currently on a stressful journey of freaking out in the bathroom because my hair just doesn't work. But we'll get there. And just to inform you, yes this video did help me. Thank you. You deserved the like and I watched all of your ads
Super handy in describing the honest difficulties of being a human who has hair that feels...not quite what you want...yet... and then posing solutions of what to do with it
I'm on my 9month hair growth thanks to your videos that motivate me!!! I wear hats that some skaters wear that would make you look cool specially if you are 16 or above
I've been growing my hair out since Sept '19. This was a very helpful video. Thanks! I want to be able to tie all of my hair, like you mentioned, so I assume I'm going to be in this awkward stage much longer hahaha.
Honestly I kinda vibe with your longer hair, I personally can't see myself cutting my hair when I hit desired length until O have it for atleast 6 months just to really know if I like it. But so far I've enjoyed my hair growing process
I'm a woman and had shaved my head 2 months ago and am just entering the first awkward stage of my journey and your videos are so helpful! You're so personable and not to mention cute! haha, so thanks for the content!
I almost have lost my motivation to grow my hair im in the beast phase and wanted to cut my hair than I saw you and I got my motovation back and saw how cool it looks when it's tyed. Thank you
I understand the wearing of the hat whilst the hair grows, but this dude has some awesome hair. He's gona grow it till it fits in a bun then cut it but at some point he needs to take the hat off and enjoy having that great head of hair. Otherwise all he's really done is wear a hat for months on end for no real reason.
i love your video ... because of you i al now in a akward stage (month 3) but i keep going and i hope to see more videos broooooooo! you deserve more subscribers ! greetings from zurich🇨🇭
I've got another tip from a 30 years' of experienced "longhair": during this phase, wear headphones as much as you can, and enjoy your favorite music too :-)
I just started my path and can I ask you something? The barber that usually cut my hair is kinda bad and my hair is like unequal. Does it matter when you have long hair or do you need a base to start at?
@@kurimu. my barber trimmed my hair in such a way that my front hair is falling to my eyes and back hair isn't bigger than my nail.... don't worry grow out totally and at end just go to expensive salon amd size the hair
Hey Luca, I'm just at that awkward date now and I'm wearing hats too but this has really helped me think about new ideas.. big AOT fan so looking forward to then Eren style
I had to go to the barber yesterday because I’ve been growing my hair out, but my hair has got really thick since I’ve started growing it so I had to get it trimmed to remove some of the weight so I could actually do anything with it
I'm at 14 months but I cut about two inches off the back as I wanted the front to catch up. I made the right choice, the awkward stage lasts up to two years. I'm gonna kick on for the next year or so. This shit takes time and makes you wonder if cutting it in a second is even worth it.
I have been growing out my hair for over a year now. It requires a lot of patience especially if you have curly hair, curly hair makes it sooo difficult and even though my hair goes beyond my shoulder, it really curls back to a shorted length.
I straighten my hair because it looks good and to maintain it. It’s naturally fluffy if that makes sense 😅 Also, you suit long hair. You look like the Spanish singer, Maluma lol
I started growing my hair up, it's probably been two to three months now. I'm at that awkward stage where it's too short to do anything with (ponytail wise), but too long till like spike it or something.
Ty for the hair pins idea (how tf i did think of that) im in a stage where i can tie the majority ofy hair expect the sides and the back and no that i got the side hair out of the way it will look more acceptable
Hi Luca, I have been growing my hair since last summer after having cut it very short (at ear level). Now my hair reaches my shoulders, it takes time but i try to touch it as little as possible and use natural products. I am a girl but i really like your videos and i apply the same advice as yours. Ps: you are really cute and handsome. Excuse me for my English and my mistakes, I'm French. Continue like this ;)
@@f_society9151 No it's not bad to touch your hair what i meant is that i try to let it grow quietly without using products with silicone, parabens and other products harmful to the hair. I hope it's a little clearer
I’m a waiter, and I’m allowed to keep my hair long as long as it’s presentable, and obviously I can’t wear any hats. What would you suggest I do for my hair at work during the awkward stages?
I‘m also growing my hair out. My goal is to not get it cut for one year (maybe longer if I’m not satisfied with the length I will have reached by then) and I’m three months in by now. And right now everyday feels kinda like bad hair day, lol. But I’m also kind of getting used to it. I always had short hair before, like 3mm short all around my head.
@@inyofacex105 right on! I’ve been growing mine for about 6 months, so I have a few months left until I can tie some of it together probably. Has it been bothering you at all?
@@orcblood9999 well, I would lie if I said no. There were days where I just wanted to shave my head completely because my hair just didn’t look the way I wanted it to, but then again I thought „man I’ve been growing it for this long now, I can’t just give up on it“ So I just kept growing it. And when I was able to tie the hair on top of my head for the first time I was really happy. I ran to my wife and showed her. Just like a little kid, lol. And by now I got used to having longer hair. I even think, when I look at pictures where I still have short hair, that I looked pretty ridiculous, haha.
I have an undercut but long top(i wear it as a top knot) but now i wanted to grow it all out so i could go for traditional man bun but How would you suggest that because the sides might look goofy
Definitely will be branching more toward skincare in the near future. It's tough cos my skin isn't something I feel totally positive toward so I'm still in the process of trying to figure it out a little more but we're getting there! Thanks as always for watching :)
Luca Santangelo thanks for reacting tho, I think I am speaking as your whole fanbase we appreciate you bro your hair videos are so useful. Keep up the good work :)
I have medium length hair like if you side parted it left or right it would fit me coming from pompadour hairstyles, I can't use bobby pins because I've never used them and yes I'm trying to rn lol, and 2 hair bands put strain on my hair cuz I guess it's not long enough, I know you said wear a hat but should I just keep going into a pompadour hairstyle until I'm able to get a unstrained free mini pony tail?
I've been growing out my hair from a disconnected undercut since June 2019, my goal is to have a whole man bun, I already have 8 inches on top and about 4 on the sides I believe
Richie you gotta have a lot of a lot of patience because it gets very frustrating not having the hair length you want, also you want your hair to be healthy so make sure to shampoo 2-3 a week and conditioner everyday
Emilian Giurgila conditioner is a hair product that you apply in the shower and it helps prevent spilt ends and keeps your hair healthy, shampoo once a week helps certain people but for me it’s 2 or 3 times a week it just depends on your own hair and personal preference
I've been growing my hair for 8 months now. Sometimes it feels good to have long hair BUT sometimes it feels so uncomfortable specially when shampooing takes too long and it's literally hard to shampoo if you have long hair.
Been growing it out for 3-4 years. Tips, hope they help: only shampoo roots, because that's where the oils build up and the shampoo runs down to the tips a little anyways. Method: brush it in the shower when wet, then do a part down the middle and put a little bit of shampoo down the part line, it helps get the shampoo all the way in where it would usually be hard to reach. And then get shampoo on your hands and work it in all the way at your roots, going from the edge inwards, you might even be able to feel where you put the shampoo into the part earlier. Usually don't use too much shampoo at once, only like half a lollipop volume hahaha weird comparison. Anyways I hope that made sense and helps
I've never managed to get through an awkward hair stage and I always ended up cutting it because it was too much to handle. I kinda want shoulder-length hair so hopefully this video helps
