👍👍😎👍👍 Of course we don't know the operating loads, but material couples can be a critical design feature for moving parts to prevent galling. Had the customer considered if a different non-metalic was feasible? Or if increasing the cross section at the failure location was possible? Maybe this arm failed because something jammed and the arm was actually a fuse in the system to minimize damage elsewhere? It's always exciting to reverse engineer a part and then discover what design details were never shared or known 😉. Thanks so much for sharing the CAD/CAM details on this very interesting project. Yeah, that is the problem with these black curtain jobs. I agree about the intentional fail point you mentioned, like the plastic gear in a lathe drive, the guy was tight on cash and didn’t even want anodize
