FRIESO it doesn’t hurt. Bc if covid I couldn’t get my adult leopard gecko any food for a few days(all stores had run out) so I ended up putting calcium on my finger and she nawed on it. It only felt strange Bc she is was trying to eat me - but you really can barely feel it in reality
my baby leopard gecko runs at my when i walk by his cage because he knows that i provide him food and that lil monster will strike anything that moves😂
I got a baby leopard gecko on December rd they said she was about three months old however I’m starting to believe she may be a male but it doesn’t matter because I’m not going to cohabitate them if i get more but she was pink almost like a whitish pink will she change her colors because now she is starting to turn kind of a yellowish with some black lines on It which she didnt have when we got Hot it so it’s more of like an eggshell or white do u think she will change or will stay this way forever?
@@alpakkald4673 it just takes time. I have only ever had 1 leopard gecko that I didn't have to work with to tame them down. When your wanting to hold your leopard gecko you know you don't mean that animal any harm. But that animal doesn't know that. The world is a scary place for a little one like that. But through continuing to have positive interactions with them they will ease up.

My leopard gecko hatchling got him 16 days ago. He spends all day in his moist hide Haven't seem him shed yet. He come out after dark. He eats a few crickets and or mealworms some days more than others. He will crawl onto my hand. So far so good.
My leopard gecko hates me! Screams every time I pick it up and runs away as soon as I put it down... I’ve tried the placing my hand in there and waiting technique and he still doesn’t budge 😩
Hello! I saw your comment and it immediately related to me. I got a baby lepord gecko five days ago in the second day I put my hand in there and he wouldn't budge either. He was always hiding. But at least he was eating. Ive never had him his at me but I have had him run away. Try holding a cricket in your hand or wax worm. You could give him a treat and start hand feeding him. I started hand feeding mine just today. Don't be discouraged
Pandoras Galaxy thank you! I actually don’t have the problem anymore. They’ve gotten used to being handled and grown a lot bigger and no longer scream or get scared when approaching them. He actually runs out when he sees me because he thinks he’s about to be fed!
aw i just got my first leopard gecko 3 days ago and he/she is a tiny baby🥺 he doesn’t hiss at me but does run away. i’ve fed him and handled him a little and he’s quite calm ✌🏼 edit: and he’s called Pingu ❤️ update: had him for 3/4 months he’s grown so much 🥺he doesn’t hide from me anymore and comes out to watch me when i come home after school
I got a baby high yellow leopard gecko five days ago. I just started hand feeding him today. For the first couple of days all he'd to was hide. I was blessed that he ate everyday for me, but I was still annoyed that he hid every day. Today I noticed he was out of his cave that was on top of another cave. He was on the first kevek and finally soaking up some heat from the heat mat.
I just got mine 5 days ago, I named him Leo, I haven't been hand feeding him because I flinch too much, but two days ago he started exploring his tank for the first time, and he eats all his food. He still runs from me, but only initially or If I move too quickly, I think he's getting better with me. I put my hand in his tank and he came over and smelled it before walking away
I recently god a days old baby Leo and they ate IMMEDIATELY! Dropped a couple little crickets in at about 4pm and she began hunting like a pro! Very lucky there. She comes out during the day to eat real fast and runs back to her hide.
My baby leo is such a great eater! He had been shipped to me over night and i had been at work that day so he had to wait 8 hours before I could bring him in and all. He was not shy. He walked around his tank explored and was like "Yep, im king here." I hadn't gotten him food for the first day because i assume he wouldn't want to eat. I think if i had he would have scarfed it down. On the second day he ate like nobody's business. I've had him about 2 weeks now and he LOVES to eat! The thing is that I live feed him - so far it's been the little crickets and mealworms.He loves his food! My consern is....when can you start holding them? He is so tiny I am afraid to hold him. I don't want to pinch him when I pick him up or freak him out. But, I want him to be tame when he is larger.

Just got my first leopard gecko about a little over a month ago. Hoping it's a boy, but will love it either way. His name is Hades. Glad you did this video because I was wondering how long it will take before he is better with being picked up and this has answered that question. I think that is the hardest thing for me is wanting to love on him the way I do all my other reptiles but I can't yet because he's not ready. I also learned with him that albinos eyes are more sensitive to light then normal eyes, since he is my first albino animal.
When I got Mango, I'd done months of research. She's my first leo, and she's thriving. I'm so glad I did my research. She's my best friend, has never had issues shedding, loves to explore, and is all around full of personality.
Thank you so much for being so straightforward. I'm a first-time owner of a baby leopard gecko. I get nervous all the time about little things that my gecko does and you made me feel a lot better! I do have one question though if my gecko stops eating what should I do? I have normally been just dropping his food in there and letting it crawl around. I've been giving him mealworms and crickets. He seems to not be eating. When I first got him he was eating a lot. And now it seems like he's not eating at all. Should I start giving him his food in a dish? I'm just wondering if maybe he's having a hard time finding his food... Also he didn't poop for a few days but he just did yesterday and it was pretty big so maybe he was just a little constipated. Also when I got them from the pet store they did not tell me to give him calcium which I've started giving him now but they told me to put it in a small dish and just leave it in there is that going to be okay for him? I give him fresh water everyday and he is still drinking water. Any info you can give me would be great thank you so so much!
My leo (named Mango) freaks the heck out when I pick it up. It readily hand feeds but then hides right after. One main issue I think is I need a front open terrarium. I also started noticing it using one spot for the potty and now I lay out paper towels and it potties there everyday, is this a common behavior for them?
I’ve had my leo for about a month and a half and I’ve never had a screaming problem or problem shedding or eating. Her name is Firefly and she absolutely LOVES food. I’ve noticed that if I put too many bugs in her tank at once with feeding she gets overwhelmed and won’t eat, so I only feed her one at a time. we’ve gotten along really well and she started to climb to the door of her tanks wanting to come out and I would place my hand in her tank a lot and she would crawl on. But recently she had stopped wanting to come out and crawling in my hand. I don’t know if I did anything wrong but I’m still trying at the taming process
I got my Leo at repticon last month. She totally ran to me when u first met her. So I named her Indy, because she seems like a little adventurer! She ate the first day and then stopped for almost 2 weeks! I almost died of stress. Thankfully, she's doing much better and eating and pooping nicely!!❤
i got my leopard gecko yesterday and i named him Coyote Marcelo. i was petting him with my finger and then he hissed and whipped around and bit me and scared the crap out of me. i didn't even feel it
My Leo’s name is Randall and he’s a morph i dont know the name of and kinda black and purpleish and he’s a baby but someone gave him to me because his lid did not know how to take care of it and he gave it to me it has 3 missing toes and now he’s doing good after about a year he’s nice and healthy I’m just watching this bc it’s on my recommend
My leopard gecko ziggy looks EXACTLY like the leopard gecko in the first clip I just got him today and I’m still getting everything for the enclosure still but he loves me already ! He runs to me when I come by the cage! I already love him !!
I have baby leopard gecko i got yesterday...he's 4 months old but I would like to know how many times a day i should feed him? Yesterday when i got him i gave him 1 superworm but he didn't eat i also put the superworm in the calcium powder thing, then around 11 at night he noticed the worm was gone, so before i went to bed I left 1 more worm in there and when I woke up it was gone.. I did researches and it said that they should be fed 5-7 worms everyday, but others say only 1...i need help its actually my first time owning a reptile and im literally 14 😂
Leopard geckos will usually eat until full, so you don’t usually have to worry about over feeding. But yeah, I’d only feed about every other day and about 5-7 worms (it varies on the size and what kind of food though). But do your research and figure out what works for you. Never only ever listen to one or two people.
@@alexcroy101 it really depends on the size. I think large is enough but small is probably too little. I’m not exactly an expert though, but I’d recommend just feeding until they stop. Most leopard geckos will stop when full. Also variety is key. It’s like if all you ate was broccoli. It’s good for you, but you can’t just eat it and never anything else.

Why does my leopard getco run everytime I bet his back I had him for months hes definitely used to me. It’s not all the time sometimes he lets me pet him but most the time he runs n starts moving

my baby leopard gecko refuses to eat crickets. they’ll eat mealworms, but if i try feeding them crickets they don’t eat. i tried putting the cricket with them and holding it up for them to grab but they just won’t eat crickets. and it’s not like they’ve never had crickets, because the lady i got them from said she had been feeding them crickets beforehand

First time my leopard gecko, that was rehomed into my care at 9 yrs old, shed I genuinely thought she was dying (Bc winter just pasted and she hadn’t been eaten in months) and broke down sobbing and brought her to the vets.

How do I get my baby eating out of a bowl? She'll eat perfectly fine when I use tongs or if I feed her in her hide but she won't eat when it's in the bowl, the mealworms always die overnight and I hate to waste em. Any tips? 😅
My leopard gecko can't eat good. She goes to grab the mealworm but then she drops it. After she drops it you see something sticking out of her mouth that looks yellow. I'm not sure if she has any mouth infection or anything. She ate a wax worm perfectly fine. Any ideas?

I get a lot of conflicting information on this so looking for advice if you can. I purchased 2 female Leo’s, and I was told they could be housed together and will 80% chance get along perfectly. I purchased them from a very reputable shop that I have been shopping in for the past 6 years for live food, and they always gave great advice on my beardie. Some people say that Leo’s should never be housed together, some people say that 2 females are okay together. They are in a 4ft viv with plenty of hides and space. Worst case I will separate them but the only spare viv I have is a 3 foot which is plenty of space for a Leo but doesn’t feel very fair!!
NORTHERN EXOTICS thank you for the help! I have 6 hides at the moment. An extra large hot hide which they seem to share most of the time. Also a large humid hide. I will look to put more in as I want the vivarium to look as natural as possible, so the more hides the better!
Oh my gurrd, I had a few as a kid in sky valley California the names were , jaken sesshomaru and Jenny. I am out in joshua tree ca now and after a huge wind storm of the season it’s gusting up around 60 mph max knocked down a metal fence out back. I subscribed. I have 3 baby leopard geckos finally picked out names. Champlain, Ira and, Dino if its a boy. So far no problems with shedding. I've had them all now for over a month. I weighed them when I got them and each time they gained a good amount. I know one of my geckos make noise I just don't know if it's one of the leopards or the crested geckos that I have.

i’ve had my leo for about 1-2 weeks now, and he is so calm ! handelling is reallt easy however feeding isn’t 😅 he eats like a boss and loves crickets, i recently got brown crickets and to say the least, they thought my house would be a better home than their own 😂 we’ve caught about 5 so far so we’re thinking about trying mealworms , if he doesn’t like them, what can i do about escaping crickets? i have a feeder box with 2 latches on either side and a grate ventilator, i’m nkt too sure whether they’re using the egg carton to climb out of the grate or pushing the trapdoor.
i recently got a tug snow 5 days ago and i know this is a mistake but the first 5 hours of it being here i handled it for a while it surprisingly didnt jump at all, other than when i first touched it. I then did some more digging and realized it needed more time to settle. But it seems to always be in its hide even at night and only comes out right before dawn (not awake). I know this is somewhat normal but, how long do i wait until i can start lifting the hide and begin to tame it. I also dont think he is drinking from the water bowl. he has a heat mat and a perfect enclosure. but ive never seen him willingly leave the hode and explore. Please help
My leo hunted every cricket in it's tank within the first hour of bringing it home lol. It thought the temperature gauge was a worm at first sight lol. I'm going to try damp paper towel in the humid like you suggested 👌🏾
It’s my first year hatching out some leopard geckos. I’ve been leaving them in the incubator a few days after they hatch to soak up the egg sack and all that I’ve been putting them together inside of a 20 gallon enclosures right now I have about 10 in there, the last two I put in there they were kind of smaller today I checked them. Both of their tails are gone so I also have another one with an eye that’s staying closed one day it’s open the next day. It’s closed one day open next day closed there’s nothing coming out of it so I put him by himself. I’m not sure if he’s eating and I’m not sure if that other little runt with the tail, all the way gone already is eating either, so I put them in their own enclosure to try to monitor. See if they’re eating, but it seems like I’m finding the crickets dead in there but not ate I have all the correct tides though multiple hides human height ha ha. Its temperature is correct so wondering if I should do this another way and how to get the ones it’s not eating to try and eat I’ve been tongs trying to tongue feed them but it’s not working I know for the first three days or so they don’t eat, but one of them is really kind of small and I’m just not feeling good about it
I got my gecko two days ago, he’s super calm but I can tell he’s not completely comfortable with me yet but things are going smoothly. I think he’s been eating a little bit at night but his worms won’t stay in the same container shown in the video. Even though my gecko might be eating a work or two while I’m asleep, I haven’t seen any poop. I’m also having trouble keeping the tank humid and warm.
So my baby sneezes sometimes, but it also sounds like the 'I'm hurt' squeak. So every time I hear "eech"! I come running hoping he still has all limbs intact but he just looks at me like `Haha I just sneezed, ya looser` and nothing is wrong. No guides on baby Leo sounds, so there's no way to tell the difference.

I just recently purchased a 3 month old leopard gecko. I have a calcium dish in the tank at all times that is filled with repti calcium without D3. I feed him everyday and dust his food with repti calcium with D3. On the weekends I dust his food with rep cal herptivite multivitamins. Are the supplements that I am using effective and is this routine good?
My baby leopard gecko is about 4 months and I got him just a few days ago, he walks up to me just fine and likes to stalk my hand when I need to change his water, etc. The warm side of the tank bottom is 90° f and the cool side is 77° f. I'm looking into getting a temperature gun too but I've run into a problem and that problem is that my baby gecko isn't pooping! He's always been eager to eat since getting him and I don't use substrate in my tank but when I got him from Petsmart he was in a cage with loose substrate and I'm worried that he might have impacted bowels. I'm worried about him and I'm thinking about calling the vet. I know it's only been a few days since getting him and that he may just be adjusting but I don't know if he's gone longer without having a bowel movement.

My leopard geckos names are lucifer and aldora. Ally looked really healthy when i got her 2 weeks ago and she started eating 3 days after i got her but she only stays in the warm hide now and she is super dark in color and super skittish and jumpy.
My geckos were given as a cohab and I didn't know they couldn't live together safely. I posted a picture of them on Reddit and asked for help setting up their enclosure and keyboard warriors made sure to take a few hits about it. And for anyone wondering, yes they're separated now.

@@SmileCamaroAddict I dont keep geckos but I have had reptiles and now keep tarantulas, to be honest mate no need to fill it up as leopard geckos come from a dry region so they dont come across large amounts of water and because it this they can drown. How about whilst it's a baby use a bottle top lid? It's only temp whilst it's still growing but takes out the worry of anything happening but atleast you know it has access to water.
When my leopard gecko is about to shed I put a moist paper towel into his heated hide and I keep it moist with a spray bottle, considering I don't have a moist hide for him, is that also acceptable?
Hi guys I just got a baby albino leopard gecko today the pet store knew nothing about him and we’re trying to feed him greens so we got in for 20 dollars however this is my first time owning one and he is about 3 1/2 weeks old can anyone provide me with some tips as of right now he only has a rock hut and a couple little bowls in his enclosure with one light lamp and his diet currently consists of baby crickets and some tiny meal worms again any tips would be greatly appreciated. Took our baby about 3 or so days to poop too. Read that was normal. Mine also now only poops in one area so she almost litter trained herself lol keep checking.
