What if the animal gets down there under the hide and substrate and dislodges the probe (since you didn't tape it down or anything)? Now the probe is hanging out and not reading the temperature correctly anymore and your animal gets cooked... not good
Hi! Can you explain how you set up the heat? Are you using heat tape? Where do you attach it? How do you prevent it from burning the shelf below it? Thanks!
I lost a corn snake living in Florida when I was a kid. He was gone for about a week and it started to get chilly at night so my dad went to light the propane heater it was mounted in the wall of our living room. I guess there's a pilot light on at all times so it was a bit warm and the corn snake had climbed up into the radiator. There was an opening at the bottom of the radiator for ventilation so I just set his enclosure underneath it with no lid and put some dinner in there for him and waited patiently and pretty soon he was back in his enclosure enjoying dinner and I popped the lid back on.
My snake got out because the two doors that swing together, apparently you can still watch the doors when one of the doors isn't quite all the way inside the latching mechanism. So once I was latched in and the other side was not and my ball python got out. Immediately started looking for holes in the other rooms mainly the bathroom because the water tank for the toilet comes out of the wall and there was space enough for a snake to get through and same thing under my sink where my pipes came in from the wall so I duct taped those shut. I put a warm space with a tight hide in the corner on top of a heating pad with some water and I put water throughout the house along the wall under furniture. All I can do is just keep looking and at night listening. It's been 5 days already. Wish me luck!
I just got my leopard gecko and im still working on a name so for right now hes still getting called the name his previous owner gave him: Savage (he is 2 yrs old)
Completely useless information he said he was going to tell us if you need me can pass through glass and the entire 20 minute video was him rambling on about s*** that does not matter and s*** I do not care about this is literally the worst video I've ever seen on RU-vid next time don't sit there and say you're going to do something and then not do it it took him 15 minutes just to do a 20-second scene about how it didn't pass through glass but he didn't test all the different lights all the different ranges different lights have different strengths so maybe some lights can pass through UVB is entire video was about him and his store and his thoughts and all this random crap that didn't matter and trying to show us everything he's selling I don't give a s*** about that stop trying to sell stuff on RU-vid completely useless utterly retarded RU-vid video
Can anyone tell me why there is always a video with someone making that same stupid face this guy is? Always, every subject, from astrophysics to mealworms. If i search something, someone has made a video and posted themselves making that same dumb face. I need to make a video on that.
My snake is lost but visible. Watching her on cam right now. Just want the entire body from underneath the cub board then I’ll take her up. It’s definitely a waiting game.
When we got Astrid as a baby 5 years ago, we were told she was a boy. For 4 years, we could never stick with a name that fit; Oatmeal, Nirvana, Axel.. and then the vet said he was a she. Astrid just fit perfectly. Makes sense why the names never fit!
I don't think they're saying you cant do it. I think they're saying that better methods are available. Sterile is best. Heat pads, tape or emitors are safer for these animals. If you keep like this and it works too that's fine but keeping them in enclosures the breeders keep them in are safer in every regard which is why they tell the buyer to do the same. You are adding risk to their health for the sake of how the set up looks so one could say its childish and selfish. And breeders want their animals to thrive so they tell the buyer's how to set up the snake for the best chance at success. I breed these animals and if they weren't given everything they need you couldn't breed them over and over successfully. It's okay if what you're doing works but saying breeders told you that you CANNOT keep these animals in other set ups besides sterile tubs is disingenuous in my honest opinion. Other options are available and will work but the best way to keep captive bred snakes is in a sterile environment. -Just some guy who breeds green tree pythons and currently is keeping 24 of them
Bit late to the comments but just wanted to say you gave the "not recomended" advice from the RSPCA Beardie care video. I think i trust your advice more.
Got an albino on the run and im worried because there has been vermin scratching in the walls that the HA will not deal with. So im worries cos she will be having a field day with food and not want out. Ive even dug a hole out of a wall that she could fit through.
