• SAFETY PRECAUTIONS •
Pole dancing is super fun but there are also risks involved you should be aware of before starting. These videos are advice only and are not intended to replace in-person professional classes. Please warm up before engaging in pole dancing to prevent injury! I am not a professional pole dance teacher. I recommend attending in-person classes before trying any moves on your own, especially when learning upside down tricks where a spotter is essential! If you have a pole at home, please make sure it is set up properly and is from a reputable supplier. There is always an element of risk when pole dancing and by following these videos you may be placing yourself at risk of injury. Please be careful and only do moves within your skill level.
Happy pole dancing :)

I’ve been scouring through beginner pole videos and NONE have been as helpful as this. Great job and thank you! I hope one day I can look at least be half as graceful and poised as you 🙏 *question: Will I eventually be able to spin multiple times around the pole without getting dizzy? I do this barefoot and wobbly after. If I we’re wearing the 7in heels commonly worn I’m sure I’d just tumble right over onto my cat🙈 Edit: 8/21/23 I can now all of the moves except for the backspin amongst a fee others. I take a weekly pole class in addition to practicing at home when I can. 9/27/23- I can now do all of the spin’s including both of the front hook to back hook transitions 🥹 I am so freaking happy

There is a very unique style/type of pole I saw once at a club. It was very short, maybe 5 ft tall. It was very thin, maybe 30mm or 35mm. I don’t know if it could support body weight for extended periods of time. It ‘whipped’ or ‘wobbled’ back and forth, because of a ball at its base that allowed the whole pole to rock back and forth and around like a video game controller joystick. The performers used the rocking ‘joystick’ like motion of the pole to perform moves that resembled pole vaulting like you’d see in the Olympics, but on a smaller scale of course. And also incorporating fan kicks and somersaults and such. One of the dancers even twisted over the TOP of the pole, which would be impossible on a traditional pole of course. Have you ever heard/seen of this type of pole before? Or maybe it was a custom thing for the club, I don’t know. I can’t find much out about it online, maybe you could help if you know something about it?

@PoletatoJemPoleDancer
@PoletatoJemPoleDancer 2 года назад
Hello! It's indeed XPole but it's brass coating :) I've never heard of titanium gold XPole before! I found my brass one was definitely more shiny when I first got it which could have made it a bit more slippery. Didn't take long to get some dirt on it = slightly more friction and grip 😂 I recommend my pole but not sure about titanium one because it's very sturdy. Where are you based? I have the exact link to the pole I have in description box if your in Australia and the most similar versions if you are in US or UK :)

@PoletatoJemPoleDancer
@PoletatoJemPoleDancer 2 года назад
Thanks Leslie! And welcome to the Poletato community 😀 I do tend to go up on my tip toes and reach up as high as I can. I find this helpful for spins. Also, making sure you are engaging your shoulder ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xT-FDcPqcPA.html To get stronger, working the muscles in the above video off or on the pole can help! Are you on static or spinning? For static, you'll naturally need to slide down but for spinning you are able to hold yourself up at the same height for a couple of turns 😊

How do you spin without feeling dizzy? Are there any tips on it? 🥺
@PoletatoJemPoleDancer
@PoletatoJemPoleDancer 2 года назад
I am sensitive to motion and do feel dizzy easily! I do this hack which works really well to get rid of dizziness. I saw it on instagram but I can't find the video now! I'll try to explain it as best as I can so you can try it out :) You hold your 2 index fingers straight out in front of you, about head width apart. Slowly start to bring these two fingers closer together. While you do this, you want to look from one finger to the other until you have brought them together. Keep your head still the whole time so only your eyes are moving. Let me know if it works or if you could even understand my instructions 😅 Theres hacks for preventing dizziness while you spin, like looking at one point of your body, but they don't seem to work for me!
@SylviaPaing
@SylviaPaing 2 года назад
@@PoletatoJemPoleDancer Thanks for sharing! Oh my, lemme try that! 😆Do I do that before or after spin or is it something that I do that as a practice to trick my brain and getting used to the motion? I'll try looking at one point of the body too in my next pole class!
@PoletatoJemPoleDancer
@PoletatoJemPoleDancer 2 года назад
@@SylviaPaing No worries! :D You do it after spinning, when you are already dizzy. So it's only a bandaid solution but it works so well to recover quickly from dizziness so you can get back on the pole again.

Please tell me how. I can’t even hold my self in the position because it feels like the pole is rubbing so much it pinces and hurts my legs
@PoletatoJemPoleDancer
@PoletatoJemPoleDancer 2 года назад
For me, it took some time to develop strength in my arms and shoulders by practising the moves a couple times each class and then also just desensitising the back of my leg for the front hook so I could squeeze the pole firmly behind. Body grip can help a tonne when put behind the knee for front hook :)

@PoletatoJemPoleDancer
@PoletatoJemPoleDancer 2 года назад
Hi Alice! Is the difficulty just in your leg strength or your arms too? It's common to have a less strong side and this becomes an even bigger gap after doing pole when we are mostly strengthening our good side. A good practise is to strengthen your less strong side too. This can be done by doing off the pole exercises on the weaker side if doing moves on the pole is too tricky right now!
