Soon to be Charterholder here, passed all 3 and awaiting for the charter. So here is the thing, if you’re looking to use the charter to get you a job, you need to manage your expectation. CFA is not license, so it’s not required in a lot of job postings, it is usually a good addition to have. Meaning your primary qualifications will be based on your work experience. So if you already have a hard time finding a good job in the finance industry, having CFA is probably not gonna do much. Meanwhile other designations like CPA and MBA are more helpful, accounting is always in high demand. And good MBAs usually offer internships opportunities, and that’s important for you break into industries like IB or PE. So that’s my 2 cents and I’m sure different ppl will have different experience.

@@TheduskyGirl I'm not sure tbh, I think you'll most likely need a job in fiance to claim your charter, and it has to be involved in investment decision making.
Secondly, CFA societies are just here for marketing activities. They do not help out analysts in finding or providing good career opportunities. The only thing they are good at is attending dinners on behalf of CFA society. CFA institute should hire people who are proactive enough to build and provide opportunities to CFA alumni/ candidates.

Yes. Even I am also planning the same thing. After completing CA, you can apply for CFA. Or else, in between itself you can apply for CFA. cause, there is no mutual understanding agreement between ICAI and CFA Board. Hope this helps!
