For me the best moment for me was a few months into the campaign it seemed the setting, the lore and the current events in my world was clicking for all my players. I have a player who has always been good about taking notes and remembering story elements. But when all my players even the ones who generally are quieter or more there to just swing at stuff all are speaking about locations, factions and experiences so far it made me happy to know my friends are enjoying the world I've had lots of fun creating.

I love being a DM and everyone should give it a try, but temper expectation and be adaptable. In both good and bad ways: it's almost never exactly what you think it's going to be, it changes the way you look at D&D and gaming as a whole, and it's definitely exposed the true nature of many of my friends in a way I wasn't expecting.

All of this is soooo accurate. ESPECIALLY the Leadership Skills point- I have personally put "Leadership Experience" down on my resume, and its helped me get jobs.

The cutest little kitten is hiding at 2:19! I've only just begun writing my first campaign and I'm so excited to share it with my friends and seeing their excitement when building their characters got me hyped as well! Love the vibes all round!

I feel so much joy when i hear them talk about the lore or the theorys they come up with, its like the realization that u built something worth of discussion. And also i secretly love when players fall in love with npcs, its hilarious Btw, since ive watched a lot of your vids and tips, ive improved a lot, my lore is now well organized and they're having a lot of fun with discovering things. Thanks a lot for the guidance u share, its so overwhelming to start dming but with tips and tricks along the way, it makes it so much easier to run games!

We laugh and make great memories every week. Both DMing and playing are fun, but DMing is certainly a lot more work. I really enjoy the hobbies that playing D&D has gotten me into. Printing and painting my minis and making terrain for my games is fun, but being able to use them in game is very rewarding.

@@TheFantasyForge - it's not terribly expensive. I have an Anycubic Photon S resin printer and it does a great job. Lots of free stuff is available to print.

On the selfish side of DMing. It’s given me a reason to start drawing again. Not just maps but buildings and vehicles as well. I’ve also started to be able to articulate why I enjoy the game and a core level. But more importantly than anything else, it’s started conversations between my wife, my friends and myself that have lead to us learning about ourselves and each other.

My campaign is on haitus rn while a few of my players are trying out DMing for the first time and running their own campaigns. I've been SOOOO burnt out with DMing and I've been having trouble finding the enthusiasm in it again. I clicked this hoping that someone could remind me why I started in the first place.

DM burnout is REAL. What I do is I just tell my group, and we do oneshots for a week or two. DM is basically a job and its okay to need a "vacation". Just need to get excited about a particular story or thread you want to pull on. Hope this video helped
