Hi Everyone, We hope you enjoyed our video! Which cozy camper for couples was your favorite? Please say hello by leaving a comment below! Also, please feel free to ask any questions or just tell us about yourselves. We want to get to know you and share our RV experiences.
@@RVBlogger Hi Mike , We LOVE our Sunray 149. We ordered ours pre-pandemic and got it August 2020. I was happy to see that you agree that its full size bed, not the queen size that the specs say. We didnt buy it on the specs, we actually sat in one at the Burlington VT RV show in Feb 2020. Coming from tenting to our first cozy camper , we are very happy in the bed. The full size mattress is larger than our backpacking tent . I would completely disagree with the garbage opinion. We are very happy with ours. My only negative critique is that very nice stereo that was installed wrong and is functionally useless. I contacted Sunray, exchanged a couple emails about it and they didnt seem to care. Their final reply was OK. Im not sure what I thought they could do about it but they didnt offer any ideas. The rest of the camper is awesome. One nice touch that ours has that yours in the video did not is that we have a window over the dinette table which is very nice. The fridge works great. The freezer keeps food completely frozen. The whole layout is just perfect for a couple. Our Tundra toys it like a champ, I dont even feel that it is there. It barely affects my gas mileage. Probably the most fun thing about it is that everywhere we go, we attract attention and positive comments about how cute it is. dave
Thanks for the great videos. I really appreciate you measuring the showers and the insides. My husband is 6'6" and it's a deal breaker if he doesn't fit.

I like the Jayco with that huge window. I'm a single, not a couple but manufacturers only go as low as couples. However, with that big lovely large window, I'd prefer the bed in that area. A double twin bed option would be preferred. Flat beds with cushioned backs so the area could be used as double couches with the option of a Lagun table in between. I'd have the kitchen where the bed is now so that I could enjoy a larger kitchen with slide out pantries and another large window in front so I could set at the table and enjoy my views while cooking. The bathroom is nice but I would rather not have it directly across from the door. Perhaps where the kitchen is, now. But...that one was my favorite.

Great video on interior design but what about outside, fresh water tank, black tank, outside spray ports, lights, cargo space? Could you show this stuff too
Hi Jessie, We don't cover all of those details because the video would be too long. We provide brief overviews and then we figure if someone sees a camper they like they can investigate further. But we absolutely appreciate your feedback! If we get a lot more comments like yours we will change the way we review campers. Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike, I have a 2019 Ford F-150 FX Package, with the 5.0 and 3:73 gears, in you opinion could i pull the Cougar 25RDS without trouble? i just love that floor plan, love my truck, and would hate to up size to a F250 or F 350 just to pull it, thank you Mike.
Hi Bill, I think the max tow capacity for your vehicle is 13,200 lbs. I always recommend only towing 80% of that amount which would be 10,560 lbs. The GVWR of the Cougar is much less than that so you should be good to go! Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike - Your videos are great service for the newbies like me. I'm actively researching travel trailers and really enjoying your videos. I hope you would consider making a video on the Top-5 or 10 family TT that can be towed by "Large SUV" (Yukon/Tahoe, Expedition, Sequoia) and sleeps 6 adults... does such a TT exist!? I got a Yukon w/ 8,200# towing capacity (thinking I could tow anything), but not realizing the max payload is the most important. At 1,479# in my Yukon doesn't leave me with a lot of wiggle room!
We are currently working on a video about travel trailers for families of 4 and then we have another we are working on about best trailers for large families that can sleep 6 or more... Stay tuned! Only the first 2 would be considered small campers under 3000 LBS that are SUV or small truck capable. Sunray makes a few more models of those small trailers.
Hi Stan, Thanks for your definition of small but other people have different definitions. For the purpose of this video it just means its meant for 2 people...so let's say small-ish?...lol! They were all very nice and well thought out.BUT! THe first trailer really needs two more windows one right up front by the dinette. And one in the very back next to the bed. For extra light and air circulation. Especially for the price they were asking. My 1986 22 foot Sunline has windows on front back and both sides.

Mike and Susan, great video as always! We’ve done the 33’ TT thing. Sold it last year. The kids are out of the house now though and we’re looking to downsize ... a lot if we can, to less than (around) 22 feet with a max trailer weight of 5000ish pounds. We’ve got two stipulations however: 1) a bathroom, and the “big” one (literally), 2) an 80” bed! I’m 6’3”/270, so this is imperative. Can you recommend a good, well built trailer that would meet these criteria off the top of your head? Thanks!

Not sure why you call it the top 5 "small" trailers. Since when is 25' 30' and 35' small? Your 1st is the only one that qualifies IMHO. I came here looking for 15'16'17'...18' max
Hey Timothy, I guess we could've said "smaller than others with what's included". My wife and I opted for one you did not cover, the GeoPro 20FBS. Walk around short full bed, in line kitchen with high microwave three burner stove and 18” oven. The, rear bath. Is huge. If you are tall the shower may be a bit low. 6’ even from tub to ceiling, with an additional 2-3” if you stand in the skylight. We purchased it to live in after hurricane Ida struck and FEMA could not find us a place within a reasonable distance from our home. At that time they said they would not be providing trailers. This trailer is easily towed behind my tow package equipped Jeep Cherokee. We nave been living in it full time since October 21, 2021, when we picked it up from the dealer. Defects noted: the gas detector was not connected, a trim strip inside a cabinet fell off, and the built in DVD player on the TV does not work. Also we have had water in the outside rear storage compartment. The water appears randomly as cannot be correlated with rain or usage of water devices and is rare, happening only 3 times.
So what camper has the longest bed under 3500 pounds i’m 6’8 and we have a 4 door jeep wrangler that 3500 is our towing capacity. I’m hoping to pick one out before next summer
Hi Bill, If 3500 lbs is your max towing capacity then you do not want to tow more than 80% of that weight which is 2,800 lbs. So you really need a trailer that weighs about 2,000 lbs so it doesn't go over 2,800 after you add gear, supplies, water and whatever else you bring along. That's the bigger issue. Not really sure which trailer would work for you but here is a video we made about campers under 2,000 lbs. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fHWH3aO9R44.html Thanks for watching! Mike

We have a jayco jflight small bunkhouse. We take the mattresses out of the bunks and use them as storage. The top bunk gets filled with the extra pieces of foam to make up a more comfy bed which is not full time. We sleep with our heads to the head of the trailer and have added a small bench to the side of the bed making it longer to give us foot room. My hubby is 5’6 so we aren’t tall people. It also has a small tub which we love.

And no way to bake anything you could at least put a convectional oven in there and that horrible sink and faucet the sink is round and it's still and it will rust and the faucet when you turn it on and hit stuff in that round thing it's flashes water everywhere you could have put a spraying off on it you are way too cheap that's in the first trailer I'm talking about that just showed

I like the Jayco, at least the design of it. Bedroom has well thought out storage, nightstands for CPAP, phone, beverage, etc., overhead reading lights, cross ventilation . . . looks like some thought went into it. Plus it looks like this camper has ducted air which is a lot quieter than non-ducted.

May favorite is the Jayco Jayflight SLX8 212QB. To me the size is just right. It is small enough to be towed by an 1/2 Ton pickup (i.e. below 6000 GVWR) but large enough so that you don't feel cramped if you are stuck inside together. Also, it has plenty of windows to let in the natural light unlike some of the smaller trailers that you reviewed.

I am concerned about stick built campers and would love it if the reviews indicated how the shell of the camper is put together. I won't be buying one with wood frame, so it would help to know. The roof system probably might help was well. Too many leaks have scared me.

Kinda disappointed you didn't do the elbow test in the Sunray, I've been on the fence about getting one... Have you ever thought about making a top 5 favorite trailers by hitch class? Either one video for each class size or all of them in a long video... Personally I'm looking at class 2 trailers, options seem skimpy for ones I can stand up in(I'm 6'). I wish I could find a fiberglass one with a roof rack for my kayak. Talked to nucamp about their 320s but their racks aren't made for heavy loads. Keep up the great videos!
Just bought a Sunray 149 late fall and dying for the weather to change to give it a try. I'm 6' 270 lbs and found that little unit just right. Never hit my head of the ceiling once thanks to the drop down floor. Bathroom is tight and its a sitter since my shoulders are pretty wide but for the weight and how many times I have to visit the WC it's a very small sacrifice. It's going to be interesting to see how the wife and I handle the closeness but we are doing it for the outdoor activity and not indoor living. And my Chevy Colorado 4 cycle pulls it just fine.
I thought the same thing about the elbow test in the b’room. Looking at a Sunray 149 also. I’m thinking to use my Coleman 6p instant tent w/porta potty as a modern day outhouse and changing room.
@@joeg9112 Good point about the “togetherness factor.” A Gazelle or Clam gazebo would almost be a must, to have some breathing room. Specially when critters are out and about.
Hi David, The Cougar is a great floor plan. What did you like about it? Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike and Susan By the way, we hope you will subscribe to our FREE monthly digital/video magazine called RV Camping Magazine. Let us know how you like it! rvblogger.com/rv-camping-magazine/
I don't know why but I've always been in love with living that way you know in a camper like that even if you know cuz it would be my own I can do what I want with it if I want to add more to it as far as if it happened to need more work to it or to Dad what I want to do it I just love that way of living I can't stress that enough I honestly rather just live in a pull behind camper. I'm not interested in buying a home I rather buy invest in a trailer cuz I can't seem to well I just think of it this way maybe possibly tiny homes like trailer you know it's a tiny home but it's a trailer I love that.
@@RVBlogger , year's ago I had a 1940's model that was set up that way and when I moved out of it I couldn't believe I got a full truckload out of it due to there was no waisted space either, cabinets galore ! It was only 13 ft... I'm looking for something like that again. 😉Are the fiberglass one's insulated very well ? I'm headed to cold country...
You do this well I dont watch to many people that show campers,,, you are good and a Lady named PJ,,,, I got no patience with the rest…. They get too techi and talk about a Light fixture for half the video or put the camera too close and u can watch a whole video and have no clue what the camper looks like cause you never saw it….. Good Job!!!
Hi Candace, We may have pushed the limit a bit but the floor plan is so cool we wanted to include it. Plus small doesn't mean the same thing to everyone. Thanks for watching and commenting! I'm interested in a trailer that can fit two people, towable by a Tacoma and built to handle off road adventures. Nothing too extreme but something that can handle being off pavement without falling apart after a year. Any ideas?

my favorite one is the crossroads zinger 299re. I really like the layout an the secret storage and the closet in the bedroom. I I ever have the money to by one, that would be the one.
