The mother and son were both using their hand to block out the light shining in their eyes, but the light still shined in their eyes. Their hands offered more of a modern military salute than shade.

There are lots of mistakes and goofs in Kubrick's Spartacus - in one scene where the Romans and gladiators are fighting in the open, you can see a modern pick-up van driving along a road on the mountain in the background! :) Also,, a suspiciously modern-looking wall map of Italy in one scene.

I can’t remember which battle but in Braveheart I used to rewind a clip of a very half hearted fight between two soldiers. It’s like they were practicing not realising the scene was actually being filmed.

That's not possible Plane's in that time era never existed or made up yet, The only way on how to travel in that time period was: 1. Walk 2. Horse 3. Boat 4. Sometimes someone will helps you (A man or woman they're passed out on the ground so you poor water on them to wake them up)

Most are no errors at all … as soon as you must pause going frame by frame its not the way the movie is supposed to be watched and actually discloses how certain tricks work … and catches stuff eg extras that otherwise would not be caught … in many other cases its simply imagination thats needed … eg mum and kid shit in blocking the sun … can happen … an out of character dressed guy in Indy … not impossible at the time … thats where the time traveller pics originated … simply someone not going with the regular flow … and … not everything must happen on screen … characters can do minor stuff whilst not in the focus if the cam.

No Country for Old Men. When Llewellyn goes to leave his wife on the bus, he mentioned that she wouldn't have to worry about working at Walmart anymore. The movie time period is 1980 there was no Walmart back then, we had Woolco. The movie is dated 1980 in the coin toss scene. "do you know what year is on this quarter? 1955, it's been traveling 25 years to get here". 55+25=80.

Re: The mother and son... It could be one of three things: 1. They don't appear to be looking at exactly the same thing. 2. (a) There's no hint of a shadow in both their attempt to shield their eyes from the sun with their hands. (b) The position of the sun's shadow on their faces changed (in the very first frame to the next). Initially, half of their faces were in shadow then in the close-up they're turned fully toward the sun/light. 3. The seemingly different backgrounds behind her? But then that could be because, at first, she was bending towards the child then she stood up. That would account for the change. That isn't sky behind her. It's the distant grassy landscape. Pray tell! I give up! Lol😆

They have a totally useless handposition for blocking out sunlight. Also, it kinda looks as if their outfit changes when going into closeup. Fx look at son's neckline which suddenly has a thick "silvery" edge (I can't see that on the far-away shot, but perhaps my screen is too lousy).

I'm surprised you didn't catch the other discontinuity in Jurassic Park. In the first scene with the T-Rex and the tour-jeep, the T-Rex comes through the electric fence like he's walking on flat ground, but when he pushes the tour-jeep over the wall through the same space he came through, there's a giant drop off instead of the ground he was just walking on. It completely kills the whole movie for me : - (.

If you haven't notice yet in alien 2, at end. It's when the robot "bishop" is cutted in half and try to help when the ship started to lose oxygen. You can see the entire hole on the ground to let the actor stretching his back to send his hand to help

Terminator 2 Judgement Day, John Connor is riding a motorcycle and he upshifts the gears 82 times and only downshifts once by accident, as he jumps the garden. In the movie death wish with Charles Bronson, he fires 68 rounds from a revolver and does not reload once. In the Fast and Furious movies (nearly all of them) they have some straight line races, notably race wars. They downshift during the race, you don't do this in a straight line race. Despite the downshifts the cars make the same noise as an upshift.

A couple of other mistakes (bloopers) in Gladiator is after the initial battle, in the camp, there is a brief moment when you can see a crew member in T- shirt and blue jeans by the horses. Another one is in the arena when one of the chariots flips over, you can briefly see the compressed air tank that assists in the toppling of the chariot.

The "non-contact combat" as in Batman is definitely visible in most older films (pre-1990s), and those usually also include the typical fake classic punch sound. But this video definitely reinforces the fact that it's incredibly difficult to get every detail right!

I forget exactly what scene it is, but Col Tavington's scarf shifts back and forth, each time the camera faces him. 3. While on the island on the SC coast, as Mr. Martin is speaking to his kids individually, Susan's pig tails flop back and forth from front to back each time the camera faces her and her father.

Nah, I'm sure that's her arm both times: it's just the back of her forearm (tanned and hairier) vs the palmar side when she holds her arm up. Maybe they are saluting, rather than shading their eyes, though, in which case I can't see the error in the clip...

Most are actually no mistakes as never noted in regular speed … unless people start using pause going frame by frame … of course this reveals many typical tricks including stunt doubles … other stuff can easily be explained … a jeans guy in Indy … perfectly possible … back then there were people not going with the masses … regardless how common … it is also always believed everything must happen on screen, but characters can act and do things not in the focus of the cam … cutting from conversation partner back to main character suddenly eating … these are no mistakes … ok if they suddenly have a plate with pasta from one min to the next … and many ‘mistakes’ became visible as many movies were never made for full HD or UHD.

aboctok If the sun is closer to being right above you, your hand would be higher up, but if it's closer, or behind whatever you're trying to see, then you would lower them closer to your eyes. Their hands didn't really cast a shadow. I don't think it was enough sun to warrant any hand gesture at all.
