Never thought I’d see a musical about the American revolution be performed in front of the gates of Buckingham Palace. Symbolic and once in a lifetime opportunity.
It was an opportunity to please Obama by celebrating his plant. The last time I checked, Obama wasn't a friend of Britain (nor the US) I don't think that replacing Churchill with Miranda is a good idea.
I agree. I don't personally think it should have been done. They are Catholic and very conservative. I think they could have made a better choice! But I'm glad the Queen, Princess Kate, and William were so gracious!
@Lyd Per The royal family isn't catholic. The Queen is the head of the Church of England (Anglicanism), which broke away from the Roman Catholic church in the 16th century. The musical Six can explain, if you want to learn about it with some upbeat music. Additionally, what makes Hamilton not conservative friendly? 😂😂
@@lydper1366 The Mirandas are Catholic and the Democratic Party OPERATIVES. Personal friends of Obama. This should you tell all you need to know about them..
@@msanjelica Thank you! Unfortunately, there's no performer list for the ALW part I could find and I'd dearly love to find one. What an excellent performance from all!
This is the dirtiest nation in the World who poisoned another nation with opium by force, and thereby destroying the souls and health of the innocent Chinese people.
the female singer for phantom is quite impressive! the fact that she doesnt have to slide to find the top notes, and just goes straight into them is absolutely insane.
I am so glad that so much of the Jubilee celebrations have been made available on RU-vid. What an amazing weekend to witness. It's historic ,delightful and joyous all rolled up and tied in a Platinum Bow for the Queen and all of us around the world who love and admire her as much as the British people. I have to admit, my favorite bit was Her Majesty and Paddington Bear opening up Queen's set with the teaspoon tapping . Every bit as charming has her parashooting into the O2 with James Bond HAHA.
Jerseydevil love your comment. I'm from the African continent but I love Queen Elizabeth. This jubilee was so well done and a truly joyous occasion. I, too, love the tapping of the teaspoons with Paddington - such an incredibly clever idea, whoever came up with that!
Queen Elizabeth ll is amazing and has quite a good sense of humor, I loved it when she made belief she was jumping downward with a parachute at the London Olympics,😂also at tea with Paddington Bear this year 2022 for her Platinum Jubilee for her 70 years on the throne
Yes, it was all just magnificent!n. A real treat for people all over the world. (But I can totally understand why Louis was not at this event. Much too much sitting and behaving for little ones!)
Its been so cool to see Six go from a west end show/concept album that wasn't super well known and follow it to where they are performing at the Jubilee and winning Tony's!!
The orchestra is truly are one of the best orchestras and was the queen's old twist, honouring the crown, her era, past jubilees and the past queen's and kings. I was amazed at this show I was expecting more of a classical feel and more royal but she really put an amazing show on for everyone regardless of class and the fact she honoured the achievements of the British people in her reign with the fashion segment and the old hit British bands was truly selfless. And it felt more liberal and inclusive with the LGBT and plenty of females being a big part of the show. God save the queen !!
I've been lucky enough to see Phantom with Lucy in it, and if she isn't the personification of why we started calling singers nightingales. Opera really isn't my genre, but I remember seeing it live and thinking - wow, it really does make me feel something, maybe I understand now - and this performance did the same even through a screen. So glad I can now share with my friends.
Amongst many high spots of Saturday June 4th outside Buckingham Palace, this for me was one of the best if not THE best; and beautifully finished off with Jason Donovan and the mass join-in singing of 'Any Dream Will Do'. Makes you very proud to be British when we stage a show like this!
Super excited to see that SIX was part of this tribute - it has quickly flown into my top 5 favorite musicals! And to end with my absolute favorite of Joseph was absolutely stunning! Excellent tribute!
Six is my current soundtrack always on repeat especially since they finally released the OBC version. The off-Broadway one was good but I love the cast from the on Broadway one
I’m can I just say how much I was floored from phantom!! Like I was hard core fan girling! And as someone who can sing that last note (at times) I give huge kudos to the gal who sang it doing it live isn’t easy!!
@@TheCainClan actually I learned they pre record it for broadway shows; singing that so much would give so much strain even with proper training on your voice!
The Phantom of The Opera will always be one of my favorite Shows. I hope some day i will be able to see this show in person especially the Andrew Lloyd Webber Version.
Speechless Speechless. Flawless performances and organisation. A big standing ovation to everyone who was involved in the celebration of the Queen's platinum jubilee. Everything was on point. Absolutely no hiccups. Wowwwwwwwwwww.
@Billy Forrest Oh, thank you for your encouragement. I'll go positive now: Isn't this wonderful? - The most powerful nation has an Alzheimer's puppet of evil in the WH (center of power). - Millions find a wonderful reason to be proud - they are easily manipulated and get drunk - I am so positive that I can continue forever
@@anna-tn8mg your just looking for an argument, your point has nothing to do with the jubilee you just want to argue with someone about your opinion on politics by the looks of it. This comment section ain't that, it's a appreciation to the queen and her wonderful jubilee show as well as for nostalgic people overall it's a positive one not based on world affairs so if you want to argue about politics go to reddit
It was one of the weakest performances. She was either too flat or too quiet and kept geeting drowned out by the music. Of course everyones falling all over her because she's a poc Christine, even though her performance could have been stronger. She does have a lovely voice but she was clearly struggling with the song.
@@mynameisGail Pretty obvious why you decided to say what you have said. Not even masking it well. Hater. Broadway performers wear wigs/extensions ALL THE TIME. You may say Sarah is more beautiful yada yada yada which is perfectly fine as it's your opinion but that is why you can go rewatch her performances.
THANK YOU for covering this!!!! The music is magnificent and the performance so very special. However, the Queen having tea with Paddington Bear stole my heart!!!!

the lion king is indeed spectacular, but it's not Andrew Lloyd Webber's. Only Phantom and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat are his from this selection
As a historian, I despise kitsch, kitsch producers and their admirers. Ah, and as a historian, I read and think leaving this admiration to the illiterate.
Oh really? Sorry to disappoint you but not all 7 billion are parochial cretins. You know ... people in other lands actually can read and leave horseriding and murder of neighbors to the Brits.
I can assure you the whole world does not adore your monarchy. Some of us are in countries trying to finally become republics and separate ourselves from your queen who has no place being our queen as well. I'm only here to watch the musical theatre performances. Not celebrate an out of date and out of touch institution.
The amount of diversity up there makes my heart so happy. My musical theater nerd self couldn't help standing and singing and also maybe crying ... A lot.
To Hannah Louis: Diversity has been resurrected, masquerading as a good thing, by the Left in Britain and America, in order to spread Communism. I had a good laugh at your gushing comment about diversity, because the diversity on this stage was majority black! Britain’s Royal family was founded upon educated, Christian-Protestant and Catholic- French (William the Conqueror), and German, and English men and women-White people! How offensive that that can not be celebrated, not even during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee! Think of it this way, how ridiculous (if on the Fourth of July in America) a white woman was sanctioned to represent Harriet Tubman (there is a play and movie about Harriet Tubman-neither of which has chosen a white woman, yet, to represent Harriet Tubman -hmmm, I wonder why not?), and was screeching and gyrating all over a stage representing the amazing woman Harriet Tubman was, and the fact that she led some of her people to freedom, at the risk of her own life ending, should she have been caught. Always remember, the celebration of diversity as a must, is usually at the cost of truth and unity!
@@harrybaker8008 And it had to be Hamilton, because...? Just because the order from Obama (or from your own cretins) was nur die nicht-Weisse need to apply? Just recently, a young British singer was dreaming about starring in Les Miserables. 70 years mean 70 years. This cow clearly doesn't know who Hamilton was and what Hamilton is. Pretty words, idiotic combination.
I take back absolutely everything I said about this concert. Sure, it would’ve been absolutely mind blowing for Hatsune Miku to perform there, but now it doesn’t matter if she or any other artist we wanted to perform was there or not. What matters was that this was a superbly fun concert that so many people came to watch and help celebrate not only Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee but her life. I especially loved that Paddington got to make an appearance in the intro, having finally gotten to meet Her Majesty, as well as the light show made by drones near the end. Fly high, our dear Elizabeth II. Thank you for everything.
This Jubilee Concert blew all concerts out of the water........ Utterly out of this world!!! Huge thanks and congratulations to all the finominale performers as well as the fantastic set, sound and lighting directors, musicians, the list goes on!!! God bless our Queen and her Family!
Pure joy, amazing. Thank you Mr Lloyd-Webber for giving us amazing musicals that take us out just for a moment or so of our reality into something amazing and wonderful 💕🇬🇧👏👏👏👏👏
That was amazing and so entertaining. I agree thank you England for showing the world how to throw a party and bring people together again. We have too much going on in America right now that this is a joyful reprieve from the upheaval we are dealing with. God Save the Queen and us all. Thank you Andrew and Lin-Miranda, I loved it all.
Giles Terera as Burr in this performance, and yet I had seen Simon Anthony Rhoden do this song a few days before. Wait For It can’t even get out of my head!
I remember when I was still a toddler, around 4 or 5 years, my uncle always blast Phantom Of The Opera CD after he came home from school. We will sing our lungs out (although I didn't know the lyrics yet). No matter who is the actors now, the musicals always have a special place in my heart. One day I will watch it, either on Broadway or West End!
I ALWAYS did this with my little sister. She knew the entire Cameron Mackintosh songbook by like grade three due to her theatre kid older sister geeking out on the regular.
It's absolutely Great to see people enjoying themselves in UK and the world watching this fantastic celebration of Queen's Jubilee. No more Masks to wear, we needed this so desperately, thank you and God bless HM The Queen 👑👑👑
Andrew L.W. What a lifetime of amazing musicals. They we’re all a testament to your incredible talent, I loved every one. If I was pressed to choose my favorite, it would be Les Miserables
Absolutely Stunning!!! Loved each minute of it✨♥️✨ and This final was just apotheotic! 🌹✨💖 love you, ALW! All you do is flawless!!! And all envolved in this project!
@@anna-tn8mg All true art carries an ethical message that can often impact the human heart for good more than in any other way. Think of how much Charles Dickens changed society for the better with A Christmas Carol and Oliver Twist: without them, would the laws for and perception of the poor and orphans have changed? Surely not so much or so quickly. There's a lot of rubbish out there masquerading as art that has no or even an evil impact on the soul, but that doesn't mean we should dismiss the beauty and power of good and noble art to influence the soul.
@@cmm5542 Well, you must be kidding. Yeah, sure, bigoted bastards always make societies better. Only in other bigots' eyes: "The more bigotry the better." Dickens was a notorious sick bigot. Did he contribute to the horrors of the 20th century? Probably yes, So much for the positive change. And yeah, nobody dealt with the poor and orphans before Dickens. Sure. How about three thousand years ago? I am a historian and art historian (not musical). You can't sell me garbage.
Wow The woman who was vocal lead in phantom of opera that was a award winning , Amazing and outstanding performance, love lion king musical in this mega epic musical concert !!! One of best performance from this musical I’ve ever heard and seen ever anywhere
And the fact that they got Lebo M (the man who helped bring the African sound, etc..to the film and to the stage version)to perform with the cast just makes it even more awesome.
The royals should put more shows on, and do more history events and re enactments. One of the few monarchy's left that is still so entrenched into our culture and our people, the queen can do even more good with the power and love from the public. She could do a royal festival, show historical relics and renact military from the past, when was the last time you heard march of the grenadiers and seen the red coats marching in England, America does it all the time. I love the royal family but I want them to do more because tbh they do get alot of money they can easily fund these extra projects and they will bring younger generation closer
Tbf, they just can't close a whole country down, or at least a few streets, just to do more festivals. And I guess it feel more special to have things that are considered one of a kind. I do agree that they should at least do some activities that can help the youth remember and honour their history.
Just watched this, WOW!!! Andrew Lloyd Webber does not disappoint! I'd have LOVED to have seen Elaine Paige do Memory! Jason was great but my fav Joseph which no1 can beat was Donny Osmond & Maria Friedman 🤩 Phantom just set it off, amazing!! Gave me all the feels, goosebumps, watery eyes, loved it!!! So Proud, what a fantastic celebration for our Queen, for the UK and for the many who joined in with us for all around the world!!
Jason Donovan was the best as the original blonde Joseph., he stole the show with the children singing and bought it to a crescendo as everyone sang together as a finaly.
I went to New York a couple times to see both Phantom of the Opera and The Lion King. And they literally just blew mind mind! It was both an amazing experience!
I needed this. I love all of these musicals. I think we all need to have this entire video but Prince George and Princess Charlotte just unimpressed and done with literally everything
I agree with the last comment Thank You England. We did. need this..,and the Queen has always had my respect because she has always put her country first.
That was so exciting to watch. We don't get to see much of the London casts, and this was a thrill. Loved LMM and Sir ALW at the piano, and then to see ALW playing the organ.
What a magnificent Celebration; fabulous production! A Gift That Lifted Spirits World Wide In A Turbulent Time! We Love You Queen Elizabeth II & We’re So Thankful For Our Answered Prayers For Your Improved Health So You Could Enjoy Your Jubilee Celebrations!❤️🇺🇸🇨🇦🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇦🇺🇮🇴

@@AlexDiaz-vc8ki -pretty good ,my grandma died almost a month ago and I just found out there’s a for sale sign in front of it and that’s where all of our holidays used to be celebrated,so it’s kinda sad
I love how for Hamilton they went for Wait For It. Truly an underrated song from the Musical and esp since Burr gets the spotlight for this. Compared to others using songs that are always used for outside performances. That Christine tho was phenomenal
It's one of my favorite songs from the original cast version on Disney.. when that first loud 'WAIT FOR IT' crashes in.. goosebumps. but I didn't really like this version. The actor seemed too stiff physically, which would be fine, but his voice wasn't powerful enough to make up for that. You gotta have one or the other, at least.
oh man, just found this version done on Good Morning America.. still not as good as the original, but FAR better than the version they did in this video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dPxMHtEHRxs.html&ab_channel=GoodMorningAmerica
