The Norco Bank Robbery in 1980 was one serious shootout. The first officer to arrive Glyn Bolasky came under intense gun fire. The robbers fired over 200 rounds at Bolasky. He was shot 5 times and his cruise got hit 47 times. Despite being severely wounded Bolasky continued to fire till backup arrived. This shootout seriously deserves a documentary because besides gunfire these robbers also deployed pipe bombs. They destroyed at least 33 cruisers in their getaway and even damaged a police helo forcing it to land. Incredible story.

Short of head shots with .308s they would not have stopped them. At one point Mătăsăreanu was hit in the eye, it staggered him a little but after he got up, he began a retreat and was still in the fight. They were not feeling any hits, they found ephedrine (in high doses it acts like an amphetamine) and phenylpropanolamine (another member of the amphetamine family but works on different receptors) in Phillips' blood. Mătăsăreanu's blood contained phenytoin, the more common name is Dilantin. It's a nasty little anti-seizure medication with a ton of side effects. He was shot 5 times in the extremities and kept going, a SWAT officer shot him twice in the chest (body armor) and that did not stop him, shot in the leg again and then was shoot in the foot/lower leg which put him on the ground (he surrendered), the final report said he was still belligerent as they waited for the ambulance. That's when he died from blood loss (exsanguination is the medical term). Phillips was hit at least 4 times in his extremities before he took his own life (he was shot several times after he committed suicide). The drug use always gets left out of this case, but it was important, that's what made them so seem so immune to the firearms the LAPD patrol unit's bough to the fight. These two knew how to build a bad day. I hope we never see their particular combination of drug use and their proclivity towards violence ever again.

@@isaacherrera7846 Who got where when it was over? The LA SWAT team (albeit in their tactical workout cloths) is who ended the engagement. None of the AR's collected from the local gun shop where even fired. Phillips took his own life after being shot several times in arms/legs and Mătăsăreanu die (bled out) in custody waiting for an RA unit to arrive.

The ATF wanted a "show." They could have taken the leaders of the Branch Davidians and satisfied their warrant in town when they were away from their compound. I was no fan of Koresh but the whole operation was FUBAR from jump street. Nobody was ever punished in fact many of the "planners" at the agency where later promoted. Hey what's the big deal they only got assaulters killed and wasted millions of taxpayer dollars on a standoff (not to mention the civil suites) to serve a warrant they could have done with 4 agents if they just waited and watched. I guess the concept of "economy of force" is not taught in ATF leader training.

That was a very good video, except for one thing. The ATF is a tax collection agency. They had no business being there in the first place and what they went after they didn't have. If you watch the video footage, you'll even see where one of the guys was climbing up the ladder, pulling out his gun and shooting himself in the leg. It was a rogue agency going after civilians. Janet reno should have also been put in prison. When it comes down to the new hall incident. Back in the day the officers had to load one round at a time. They didn't have speed loaders. Things might have been different. Plus the training back then was to load your gun instead of doing a combat load.

It depends, although there are redcoats such as ATF or FBI whose prime task is to protect pedophiles in high places, there are regular police that are just average people like you and I and who do not support disarming and making the population harmless and ripe for oppression.

The Branch Davidians were operating for a long time before the alphabet crew got nosy, and local law enforcement never had one problem out of them. I Imagine people in Texas owning that many guns is not that uncommon. I live in Tennessee and between myself along with siblings and close family, we have well over 200 guns that I can think of

Lol. Who "owes a debt of gratitude" to the ATF who illegally entered a private residence simply to arrest a man ? The County Sherriff told the ATF that David Koresh would meet him in town where they could arrest him but the ATF just didn't want that. The ATF wanted to be the badass so they got what they got.

I’m not sure about other states, but I live in Tennessee and you can own as many as you can buy. between everyone in my immediate family who live in the same area, we have well over 200 guns that I can think of. That’s based on how many of us each have in our individual collections. I have 31 myself…we have family in DEL-RIO Texas and I know they have the same laws regarding the unlimited quantity of firearms you can own.
