Hi Recipe for Success,
You asked for my book recommendations on nonfiction books that helped me better manage my professional career, learn to be a more efficient and better project manager, and had dedicated strategies and tips to better organize my life. This book list are 5 books that I loved reading and had an impact on how I manage my personal and professional life. These books focus on different areas including: personal finance, how to improve your finances, time management, how to make the most out of your time, checklists and how to offload cognitive burdens using checklists, habits and how to establish good habits while getting rid of bad habits and how to use systems in your everyday life. While these books may be focused on personal development, they have also helped me grow professionally. I use many of these ideas as a PM every day (ex. the use of checklists for business functions).
Here they are:
1. I will teach you to be rich - Ramit Sethi

2. I know how she does it - Laura Vanderkam - www.amazon.com/Know-How-She-Does-Successful/dp/0143109723

I recently read The Psychology of Money. It’s an amazingly written book about the different thought processes that undergird spending and saving habits. I redefined my financial philosophy after reading this book.

Hi Emma 😀! Was wondering if you could give me some advice. My background ; - 4 years of Engineering in Mining from India. - will start post-graduation course in PM from Canada in May. My question is ; 1) Will getting a job in IT PM be difficult? As I'm from a non-technical background and have no work experience except for my 2 internships that I did in my college. 2) what are the certifications that I should get to improve my profile? CAPM/PMP certification requires some work experience, which I don't have. 3) What's your opinion on the job market regarding PM in Canada? It seems like every other person is a PM. 4) Are there any specific kinds of software or tools that are used in IT PM industry? If so, then can you please mention a few of them.

"The Introverted Leader" is a book I just bought and I'm currently reading. It focuses on leading groups of people while having an introverted personality.
