Thank you for your video. Do you have any tips on how to report your hours? I don't have a degree so will need 5 years of experience. I've been in a PM role for almost 3 years and am not very far from meeting the 7500 hours with my PM role alone. I do have some hours from my previous operations role that I can likely use. I'm wondering how to report those operations hours specifically. I am able to pull reporting for my PM project hours. Any guidance or links you can share would be appreciated. I'm hoping to be able to test by next year.
Hi. You are not correct in your statement regarding the requirements. In the beginning of your video you state "AND" when you list the requirements, implying that you need ALL 3 However, You DO NOT NEED to have a 4 Year Degree to take the PMP EXAM . Just want to clarify for those who may not have their 4 Year Degree.

Thanks for the video. How do I show my professional experience? I have a masters in Project Management but never had the role. I have used the methodology and tools in many positions. Do these experiences count as well? Is the PMI going to ask my former supervisors about these experiences? Thank you for the answers.
At no point in 25+ years of Project and program management across UK, EU, Middle East and Asia Pacific have I ever seen a position requesting PMP, Agile or Prince2 qualifications earn a quantifiable amount over a position not specifically requesting one of the major recognised certifications. Positions typically state Degree, PM certification or relevant experience. Contract roles state day or hourly rates and where no salary information is provided, and I have interviewed for a role and I have asked the remuneration, there's been no additional benefit to having any certification. Relevant experience was more key to negotiating higher. Unless PMI published their figures that prove out their claim, I conclude it's to reinforce something they want you to have but actually don't need to succeed as a project manager.
Hi Emma - New Subscriber here Magdalena. Thanks for creating this channel and for all of the information that you so kindly and professionally share. This is to encourage you to continue providing and sharing. FYI, In watching 4 videos so far; I think you may already have the content ( and the ability to create ) that you need to create additional subject matter videos. You discuss various topics in depth, it is very interesting, and surprising how generous you are with matter of fact training, researched market facts, and the correlations. It is why I subscribed to you. I look forward to watching more of your Videos. It is June 2024. I hope you and your family have had success in the transition thru your husband's contract EOL, the 2023 Holidays and are doing well now. Congratulations on the New Addition to your Family. Sending Best, Magdalena
Question is: I just got the CAPM 😎 not really working as a PM but working at lots of projects in the meantime, would the PMP worth the investment as a next step and while I’m fresh?
Yes! it is worth it. Everyone is on their own journey. One can never put a price on education, and no one can take this knowledge from you. Perhaps this woman failed and explains her bitterness. But, don't form opinions until you pass that rigid, tough exam, that only 750,000 people in the world are capable of passing, and separates the wanna-bees and the can-bees. This woman is a drag -- " misery loves company." And the price is nothing compared to that crappy $150,000.00 college degree you paid for and are making $65,00.00 a year. This woman is a cynic, and knows the price of everything, and the value of nothing.
This is so valuable!!!! Did you take any prep courses before your test? I am starting with Joseph Phillips, but I want to take these courses that you mentioned also!
I'm PMP as well in Brazil, civil engineer. And the most important thing in my opinion is the environment that you are in. Notice that she was surrounded by PMP professionals to work with. This is a high value! It's a systemic issue to get recognized.
I'm a quality supervisor in a warehouse with an MSc in Sociology, nearly a decade of teaching/training, and 5 years of supervisory/management experience. Despite working in a sink-or-swim culture, I've fostered a culture of continuous learning and improvement. I've unknowingly utilized project management, lean/six sigma, and kaizen methodologies (I just used my background to apply the scientific method to my role, without realizing that it was CI work). My question is: I'm trying to break into project management but lack formal training/experience and support from my management. Any suggestions?
