I am writing my last thesis on hemp rebranding in Italy. I'm studying and striving to become a transmedia designer, it was very motivating to find someone who gave me the same suggestions I gave to my future readers and investors. Having unexpected feedback is refreshing! The fact is that when you write an experimental thesis, sometimes you have that unpleasant sensation that you're inventing things no one could ever agree with, so, finding you really motivated me. Much love from Italy!
Just as an encouragement for you, personally, as I've been watching some of your latest videos, so this one from 5 years ago really highlights how far your public speaking has come. I didn't pick up in your new ones that you speak with the nervous gravel-voice at all! You've obviously either put effort into speaking without it or you've gained such confidence that you just naturally no longer do it. Either way, well done! Change isn't easy, but you did it. :D
Thanks so much for your message! I think confidence and practice have just evolved the way I speak on video, it’s not a performance or anything I’ve learnt specifically just a natural evolution. It’s such a shame this video is one of my top performers as I’d gladly switch it out for something more recent 😝
Thanks for your lovely feedback! Showing examples makes it so much easier to understand and gives you an action to take away. Happy to hear you found it interesting!
I love this video! So many great ideas. I particularly like telling your background story idea, because so often on social media all you see is what's called "highlight reel" of successes, and I think it's equally important to show your progress from point A to point B. Thank you for sharing!
You just gave me an AhHa moment with how to get my customers to use my unique hashtag to promote me. So glad I watched, been binging your channel all morning 😍
Haha wouldn't really call it a vlog :P It was more tutorial style but I totally agree with you. While I'm stoked this old video is getting good watch time, I wish it was one of my more recent videos that's way more put together. Thanks for watching :)
Kate did you realize that telling brand stories is at the heart of business transformation as well? Thanks a lot for sharing the wonderful video and tips you put up for all. They hit the bull's eye. BTW, your Aussie accent voiced in a sexy flare can be distracting...LOL
Fabulous! I'm so happy to hear that. You might also like to check out this series as it will set you up really well ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4j1wBrtNS2Y.html
I couldn’t watch the video till the end. This assumed voice sounds too much fake and not natural. Do Step 1 first too and just act normal including your voice. You might have good tips but if it isn’t possible to listen, it is useless for me.
Totally! It's a great way to create more content plus it's way more reputable than just another post you curate. Happy to hear you found the tips useful!
Web developer here and very very brand new to social media ... looking forward for ways to combine story telling in my medias. Nice video thanks for the strategies!
YAY! Storytelling is a great strategy especially while you're just starting out on social media. Have you downloaded my free guide yet? www.kateemiley.com/freebies/brand-storytelling-guide
Great great great video 😻😻 definitely implementing those 👌🏼Im excited to try creating my own quotes and using TBT posts .. regarding sharing a narrative in the caption tho , does the story have to be related to the posts ?
Yay! So happy to hear you loved this one :) Nope, your caption can be any piece of your story that you're wanting to share :) Eg. a photo of you at the beach, could be talking about your favourite things or why you started your business. You don't have to be literal :P
I totally get that! Instagram stories is a really great way to do this because it's not as permanent 😝 Or being vulnerable and sharing your thoughts in your caption
Hi, I have looked through all the comments to find the worksheet you talked about, but can't find it. I did see the guide but did not see it in there. Can you tell me how I can get the worksheet? Thank-you!
Hi Carrie. Thanks for reaching out! I have consolidated my freebies and only have the guide available now but it's a much more inclusive document than the worksheet anyway :)
Great video but I wish your voice wouldn't go in and out so much. It's like you're trying to sound sexy but serious and then I'm getting a Britney Spears vocal....other than that great tips. 👍🏽 try not to use the raspy tone of voice.
