I have a 2003 Chevy suburban I just get on the freeway at freeway and then all the sudden it was like my truck went into neutral it was like any gear it was going to any gear anybody got any idea what's wrong with it I'll be a big help if you can tell me
We have a 2003 Yukon XL Denali, my wife said one day the engine light came on, the door locks, locked and unlockedit reved up the engine she was backing into the driveway, the indicator would not go into reverse only drive or park, did this once when I drove it, weird.
I got the codes for both throttle body and throttle pedal sensor but the real problem was the pcv hose that was deteriorated under the air intake housing. Be sure to check the pcv hose or valve before replacing the expensive parts. This also caused ( I believe) the valve cover gasket to leak oil. The pressure built up and blew the gasket.
I replace the gas pedal sensor,the computer,the fuel pump,thottle body,ext still engine reduced the truck drive 2 miles end engine is rooning but no power
I was sitting at a red light and felt a little jerk, saw that the engine light came on and said reduce power and threw up the P 1516 coat throttle feels fine. I’ll check to see if it just needs it clean, or a bad ground, this was really helpful. I’ll give an update.
@@stelthcamo357 I’ve replaced everything you have as well as an autozone throttle body.. The last throttle body I replaced it worked for roughly 125 miles before throwing code again. I guess I’ll try an OEM throttle body
My truck goes into this mode but if I push the flap in the throttle body it starts right up normal. It is also a whole new throttle body. Any idea what it can be?
The disc in your throttle body needs to be re-aligned. It may not be aligned correctly especially if you bought a 3rd party one like me. loosen the 2 torx screws a little, push the plate in, so that the throttle is completely closed off. Tighten the screws. When you release the disc it should have a very tiny gap for air but its almost closed.
I have a 03 Yukon Denali. Same issue. I’ve made new grounds all over where they should be and used ofc wire to make sure they will be good for a long time still same issue. I’ve replaced the throttle body/ throttle body pigtail/ gas pedal/ tac module and instrument cluster still no fix please if you can help. Also replaced the small ground behind the block that is behind passenger side of engine bay.
My P1516 came on during a light rain after making a quick grocery stop. 2007 GMC Sierra 1500. Have not tried solutions yes. Got 'cripple' mode cleared by starting/stopping engine several times.
I’ve done everything from changing the whole TAC system even grounded the pcm to engine block and I am still getting the reduced engine the wire harness/ pigtail connect was replaced also I changed out the throttle position assembly about 3 times and still getting the codes I mean from gas lines to filter and fuel pump it does every time i can cut the Tahoe off and go to start it and it’s in reduced engine power I don’t know what else to do
Same here guys I’m trying to avoid to buy bunch of parts , previous owner did bunch of service and replaced throttle body , waiting on a friend to check electrical connections ! I’m tired also .
Same boat here also only thing I have not changed is my pedal but I've already bought it I was just informed that the battery will cause this also but I doubt it
Helping someone teoubleshoot a 2005 C6 Corvette, with the LS2 motor. First it won't start, then I got 3 codes, 2135, 2101, 1516 off my OBD reader. Hope you can help sort this out for me. Thank you.
Thank u for sharing I'm having major issues with my throttle body issue I have replaced my TPS and cleaned the throttle and ran a ground wire and now it's saying tp bad and now the relay to fuel pump is clicking I swapped it and it's still going it I really need help with it
theres a guy claiming his coolant was low and thats why the EPR problems apparently it worked for some people any comments on this? the video is here on youtube
Strange that you say this because my dad's 2004 silverado only started it when he drained the antifreeze to refill with fresh before winter freeze and been having it pop up every since. Put a new ebay cheap throttle body on and it fixed it for a week,Checked all the tb wires found 2 wires that come out their connector soldered them back and still doing it.. oddly we put my 47k mile trucks oem throttle body on and it stopped acting up.
That's what happened to me the oil level was low and it caused reduced engine power and the p1516 showed added oil and cleared the code went back to normal
I got the same code on my 2004 Chevy Tahoe. And also the code C0237 which is rear wheel signal erratic. At the times when the reduce engine power comes up the doors locks keep going on and off. Do you think both codes might be linked to each other?
Hello I enjoyed listening to your video and haven't had problems for a while but it has gotten really cold around zero and p1516 threw several times . Is there anything you replace that cause a problem ?
I have a 2000 chevy silverado 1500. The truck will run good for about 3 miles then it will lose power. can't go over 30 mph. I dont get loss of power message but the check engine light will flash. Codes were for 02 sensors, misfires. Took it to a mechanic who told me it needed a tune up so he put new plugs and wires on it. didn't fix the problem,
I get the same code but only when my battery is low. I have a parasitic drain on the battery that I thought was coming from the after market radio. So if I don’t drive it every day… by the third day I try to start it and it will turn on but tells me to reduce engine power. I took into Autozone and they said I need to replace the Canister Purge Valve… not sure if it will fix it but I’m gonna try. New Symptoms: acts like it wants to stall out at a light or stop sign
any update? dealing with the same thing. my 03 yukon started acting like it was going to stall out a couple days ago and now when i started it today it went into limp mode and threw this code
my 2004 yokon reducded engine power shows up mostly when it rains and it hasn't been started for a couple days, I turn the motor off one time maybe two times and its good to go, I've cleaned the throttle body but it didn't fix the problem, any advice would be help would be helpfull.
My truck got a p1516 and a p2101 as the same time. I started my truck and it started shaking severly and stabiltrak turned off. I turned it off and started it. Ran fine.
Should there be a #6, the throttle actuator control module? Got the check engine light and reduced power message. Auto Zone scanned and said throttle actuator control module, but i didn't see the actual code number.
I have a 03 gmc Yukon Denali and have replaced ALL grounds. Throttle actuator control module/ gas pedal module/ throttle body/ throttle body pigtail and dash cluster still same issue. If you fixed yours please let me know what you did. I’ve done it all and still can’t fix it. I’d like to just sell it but I paid 9000 for it and I’m sure I won’t get more than 2 for it with this issue.
I got the code p2135 for throttle sensor so I ended up just replacing the whole throttle body+sensor, I learned it in and drive the truck around real good till the next day I did a cold start and it started to idle again and it learned it self again n started to run perfect it only runs good when it’s hot anyone got any ideas why it’s doing the idle on cold start?….
Just happend a day or 2 ago i changed the ecm or pcm and prgramed it and it didnt work ima clean throttle body toncheck but mehcanic now telling me its the tac im not sure on whats broken for sure but the pedal doesnt work sometimes and sometimes it barley makes it to 1000 rpm but yea if anyone has clues or has had the same issue before let me know thanks ill give updates too mexhanic is coming today trying to get back to work 😅 broken truck suck😢
Hey guy did you ever figure out what was wrong with you ride ? My 2002 Chevy trailblazer 4.2 liters won't go pasted 3000 RPM's if you figured it out can you tell me what you done to fix the problem.
I have a 2007 colorado "reduced engine power " it only does it in cold weather It won't crank if the temperature is below freezing after the temperature warms up it runs great
@@Luisrrr508 I read online about the voltage dropping because of the cold weather so I cleaned by connections and replaced my battery if running fine now
My reduced engine power came on in my 2003 Chevy Silverado 5.3 and it's code says intake manifold runner control but I can't seem to locate it can someone please help me ty
Possibly check your ground wire going from the driver side to the firewall. It’s like grey & flat it goes to the back of the engine bay. I just checked mine and it’s dirty & it’s loose.
I've done all these plus more. My last option is to replace the main computer board under the battery ECM board. What else is there left to replace?. 03 gmc 1500! It's been driving me nuts! 😅
same here shop has done everything they could with the grounds battery is good has a new throttle body now replacing the pcm as my truck has all the symptoms of a bad computer.
I just had this happen to me. I changed my oil the night before. And the process for resetting the change engine oil message on the dash is to turn the key to the on position and press the gas pedal to the floor 3 times. You'll then get the "oil life reset" message. The following morning, I started the truck up and backed out my driveway under idle speed. When I put the vehicle into drive and pressed the gas, the error message popped up and the pedal was non-functional. I turned the key off, let the truck sit for 30 seconds and restarted and it drove fine after that. The check engine light still had to be cleared. My guess is the throttle body being wide open for the oil reset upset something and perhaps my throttle body needs to be cleaned.
What if I've already done all of this and it's still doing it. Does it while cranking and will do it 3 to 5 times in a row then will be fine until the next time I start it up.
@@deanfox9957I've replaced everything. I guess I'll go buy a temp gun and see about inlet and outlet Temps of my cat. See what it's doing. Hell might just cut them off and run a peice of pipe. This is getting really old lol.
