Hi there I over rotate unfortunately . one the to left side happens when i want to take the first breath after pushing off the wall and the over rotation to the right happens in the following . I snaking while i want to take breath, and the right hand elbow hits the water surface with fingers rather finger first then wrist and then elbow. I am confused. I recorded my self and the front view showed it more clearly that when my left hand is above the water then it makes quite 90 degree with the water surface . When i practice 6,1,6 drill i cant take breath on the right side ( the usual side of taking breath) , what is the key to fix my over rotation? Anything about my hand position while they are extending infront of me ? Where should be my elbows around my head? Should touch my face while they are extending infront of me or they should touch side of my head? Thanks
Definitely need to keep my elbows higher and keep focusing on rotating my body! Shoulder pain on the opposite side of my preferred breathing has been a definite crux for me..
im a 13-year-old proper swimmer but for the past year I haven't swam as we relocated and there arent great swimming facilities here and now that extended by corona.virus. i have strength and good stamina but I feel as though when I come back in the pool I will have lost all my technique. any suggestion?
What’s up bro. Roughly same age as you. I’m almost 15. I’ve had many times where I’ve been away from the pool for a long period but one thing you’ll find is, you’ll still be able to swim it’s muscle memory. Now your technique will most likely need quite a bit of work to it and it’ll feel weird swimming at first but with a bit of dedication and drills and some work to build up fitness you’ll be all good
I can barely swim and I’ve asked dozens of friends who are great/ semi-pro swimmers for pointers and in 34 years no one has ever mentioned that my body should rotate. This changes everything! the breathing, the buoyancy..... I think i’ll give that gym pool one more try :) thanks!
I am a swim teacher and coach - I recommend some lessons to ensure your breathing timing is correct. If you fix this then you will be amazed by your improvement
