5 Common Mistakes People Make When Roasting a Turkey and what to do instead
1. Not seasoning the turkey ahead of time. Brine or season the turkey overnight.
2. Not using a roasting pan with a rack. Adds veggies, herbs and broth to the roasting pan, then use the drippings to make the best gravy.
3. Not using a thermometer. A thermometer is the most accurate way to tell if your turkey is cooked perfectly.
4. Using some sort of time per pound timetable to base how long the turkey needs to roast.
5. Cutting into the turkey too soon. Rest the turkey for at least half an hour before carving.
