I always thought that they didn't even "drop" the bomb at Megaton, I think the plane crashed with the bomb onboard and that would explain why it is undetonated but still able to be detonated and why they'd have so much extra scrap metal.
@@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz Well they say they went and got more material from a nearby airport, but I think that is only because they already learned how to use the parts of planes to build with.
@johnoglesby-vw7ck True, it might not be a friendship where both know each other well, but it is a friendship in the fact that they both helped each other and its probably best to stick together.
Fawkes also comes to the Lone Wanderer's rescue after they're abducted by the Enclave at Vault 87. I cannot stress enough how fucking insane Fawkes' feat is. Vault 87 is on the OPPOSITE side of the Capital Wasteland adjacent to the Raven Rock bunker. Fawkes was not only somehow able to either defend himself or hide from the insanely superior Enclave forces that swarmed Vault 87 while being outmanned and outgunned probably 30-1 given the fact Colonel Autumn was personally there leading the ambush, but was able to figure out WHERE they came from. The only way I can imagine him EVER figuring this out is by capturing an Enclave Soldier and interrogating them. This is reinforced by the fact he's carrying a fucking Gatling Laser when he finds you. Where could he have gotten that? Fawkes then traveled across the ENTIRETY of the Capital Wasteland, no doubt fending off hordes of raiders, feral ghouls, robots, wildlife including deathclaws, Enclave patrol squads, and likely Brotherhood patrol squads given he was a super mutant. He must've walked for DAYS, maybe weeks. Fawkes did this all for YOU. He was that determined to save YOU, even if you might've already been dead by the time he found you. He was going to kill everybody in that bunker just for you. The absolute heroism of Fawkes is the most underrated story in the entirety of Fallout's lore, from Fallout 1 to anything recent.
2700 miles from California to Washington D.C.- guess we'll just have to walk boys 500 miles fromWashington D.C. to Boston- We're gonna have to sink a ton of time and resources into an absurd airship vertibird carrier for this one boys.
From the very beginning of fallout 3 they tell your character they werent born in the vault Even when you go to megaton moriarty tells you that you werent born there. The knowledge of your character not being a vault-born child is pretty common and said to you several times Shows some people dont read dialogue
"How did they Beotherhood get to the Capital Wasteland" "They put one foot I'm front of the other" lmfao that was my understanding too of how they got to DC
I've played games consistently for almost 40 years and Fallout 3 is inexplicably my favorite game. I also grew up in a room by myself and the rest of my life has gone in a similar way. The isolation and solitude in this game is beautiful and incredible to me in a way i can't describe.
So Courier who is very much the Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Western Cowboy Loner makes actual bonds and friendships with companions more than the Lone Wanderer. . .sez more about Lone Wanderer than it does Courier.
The BOS was at war with the NCR just before Fallout 3. We know this because the East Coast says they lost contact with the West coast, by time of Fallout: New Vegas, the Western BOS are in serious trouble with NCR. During Fallout 4, Maxson saves the Western Coast BOS and merges them. However, how exactly did the BOS cross the Mississippi? They flew (They made stops along the way, reason it took so long to get there, fuel was likely an issue also). In Fallout 76, we learned they had to fly to get there (But is Fallout 76 really canon?) We know in Fallout 3 that their flying ships are in disrepair and most destroyed. Middle USA is unexplored and considered very dangerous, almost nothing is known of that part of the USA. A group was sent to St Louis where they were pushed back (By Mutants) and they returned to West Coast. One group manages to make it to Chicago, but we dont know what became of them. One hint is they setup an empire. But we cant be certain. These two, nobody crosses the Miss River (Well one other managed it: Fallout 3) as it is said to be uncrossable. Now how did Harold and Kellogg cross the "great" river. Bethesda cheated and put Harold in game, Kellogg likely had an access point we yet been told (Chicago?)
Me, old as fuck hearing the Santa Clause is Coming to Town reference: "I get it, I got the reference." Now I'm imagining the BoS walking across the wastes of the US singing that song as they put one foot in front of the other.
Fawkes isn't your friend, he's just grateful to you for saving his life??? Bruh Fawkes is a homie. But yeah he doesn't really act like anything more than a bodyguard, no conversations or anything ever.
7:55 Considering that the game’s narrative heavily implies that the lone wanderer had very good karma (based upon there’s a heavy expectation that your character fallows in their father’s footsteps through NPC dialogue and the ending slides when going through a play through of anything but good karma) so in that case they would have fawkes
i have always liked this channel, and i think it is really cool that Norte makes interesting and informative content for people into the lore of these games in such a positive and thoughtful way on a platform that can often be anything but. well done, Norte. thanks for the great content.
I’m sorry, who is confused for thinking LW was born in vault 101? That’s literally brought up several times as incorrect by Moriarty and Doctor Li AND your dad-who is this part of the video for?
I can't tell you how many people I've seen say the LW was born in 101. I think there's a solid number of players that heavily gloss over the plot and just don't pay attention to what the NPCs tell them.
Day 1 of tips for fallout: the rad limb healing perk moria brown gives you is very broken. Heals almost instantly. Some cons you pretty much get perma stunned sometimes if you keep getting crippled in combat and you gotta have advanced radiation poisoning. (Fallout 3 fact)
I kinda wish the explanation for why the Brotherhood is in the Capital Wasteland involved them taking Vertibirds that they built after the Chosen One retrieved the Enclave's schematics for them from Navarro, but straight up walking is still a perfectly reasonable answer.
I think the first one is a little incorrect? James wasn't a wastelander, i thought he came from the vualt along with the other scientists sent out to assess the area long after the bombs. The terminal entrys deacribe their initial findings of megaton, as well as the wildlife Mutations. James and his wife decide to do Project purity, and when that fails, they return to the vault. The vaults secret purpose was for it to never open, so why would the overseer allow in some random wastellanders, unless they were already vualt dwellers?
If you ever paid attention to the game James was not from the vault he came to the vault and was accepted if you know anything about fallout then you know all the vaults were controlled test and 101 was to see how letting wastelanders inside and also to see how living in a vault would be for a group of people
@Willcome97 Nope? He'd always been from the vault. The vault never let anybody in, and kept the outside conditions a secret from the occupants. James is too educated to be a wastelander, plus he knows who the enclave is, and the concept of private property under government. No BOS or wastelander would even care to know that, unless they came from a vault that was part of a government program
@@LupusGelos I pinky swear he didn’t come from vault 101 I 100% promise you he didn’t and self education is a thing as well as learning about science and medicine from others in the wasteland he also had seen his way around so of course he knew things but he isn’t from 101
@LupusGelos wrong 🤡, literally a quick fucking google search proves you wrong, James came to the vault seeking shelter and later became vault 101s physician along with Jonas, do some research before spouting shit.
I much prefer playing fallout games as a female protagonist so the fact that you're so insistent on the "canonical gender" of the player character being male all the time is very annoying. I really don't think the player character of fallout games should have a canonical gender at all.
I always wondered what caused the crater that megaton was build around. I mean the bomb didnt blow up so it wasnt that. Also whoever dropped the bomb had great aim to hit the center of the hole.
The most misunderstood thing in fallout... FEV - forced evolutionary virus, not forced evolutionary virus virus. Sorry but this bugs me to no end and yes i know it appears in the first game. But aghhh! 😠 😡
Bethesda doesn't use design documents so there can't be any definite "Fallout answers". Anything is subject to retcon, removal or "mods will fix it" - the Bethesda cultist's prayer.
The BOS used a fleet of airships just like the Prydwen to navigate the wasteland and yes, this is canon, you can hear a Brotherhood Knight and Captain Kells talk about those airships and their fate.
@@tacosman98 No, not that part, I meant the first half when you hunt down Gammorin and the second half when you try to destroy the Calculator. They would keep the original lore from the earlier Fallouts.
Random question, hopefully someone can answer. What song is used in your videos it’s become iconically tied to your videos but it’ll get stuck in my head after.
Absolutely love your videos and your style but one small critique if your gonna make a video about unanswered questions please don't make a video where all of the points actually are answered, the title of your video is completely click bait
Supposedly the Rads you get from prepackaged food in Fallout 3 is because you are adding contaminated water to them. Although this doesn’t quite explain it in later games where clean water is less of an issue.
Funny enough, Fallout 3 Brotherhood of Steel location can Explained by Another Fallout Game :) Fallout Tactics, That BOS literally in the Midwest being that it is between the Fallout 1/2 BOS & Fallout 3 BOS Having it mean that the F3 BOS literally starts from the California area, stayed for a Bit in the Midwest, and finally moved to DC
