Also gameplaywise it could be a similar concept to pipe weapons and energy weapons. Lorewise it's supposed to be a cut down 5.56 mm revolving rifle so we could have the pistol and rifle version
yeah i feel like people hear 10mm and think oh it's only one more than 9mm lol but 10x25mm vs 9x19mm is a huge difference in powder load. there's a reason people recommend 10mm for hiking in bear country lol. hopefully we'll start to see more PCCs and subguns chambered in it cause i think the power vs size would lend well to that type of platform
@@American_Kazuma do you mean pistols are the only weapon to appear in every game? Because obviously we see things like rifles and super sledges across more than one game? I don't think it would stop him making it into a series.
New Vegas is a pistol lovers dream with so much choice & thankfully so because the .44 hates me in vats for some reason though ironically in Fallout 4 it's my go to sidearm....Ammo permitting.
Possibly masochistic laser pistol lover here- The only .44s I fire are more than 44... THOUSAND gigawatts of pure focused red wavelengths. I'm a New World cowboy.
That Gun is also my second favorite. I'm an Energy Weapons build, so the AEP7 laser pistol is my favorite. One of my first purchases in the game are either the focus optics, recycler, the iron sights, or the (GRA) version of the laser pistol. Just depends on what Chet has in store at the time.
I really like this video! You should include images/screenshots of the various weapons. When you show the 12.7, you should have gameplay from at least the 1st person shooters
Awesome video man! My favorite pistol in the franchise is the classic 10mm pistol. The new 10mm design from F3, NV, & F4 looks cool but WOW 🤩 the F4 creation club classic 10mm feels like a giant hand cannon from Trigun! I LOVE IT!! It does a good amount of damage and I can’t stop playing with it! I call my gun: “The Shepherd”. 😎👍🏼. I do wish Bethesda kept the original design of the 10mm
I assume the chinese pistol name has something to do with the Mauser C96 and its role in the chinese Warlord era/civil war. The weapon was liked, imported, smuggled, and copied by various warlords and factions. The iconic "Mauser" logo was even copied by counterfeit weaponsmiths, who would brandish their work with a copied "Mauser" stamp. sometimes, they didn't understand the writing fully, its purpose, or couldn't read the latin text in any capacity. This led to some kind of funny counterfeit pistols marked with tags like "Wauser", "BROWNINGSBROWNINGSBROWNINGS", waffenfabricmauser", and a surprisingly well done one marked "Manufactured by the Third Battle Area Arms Repair Department" in very clear and bold writing
There is a alien pistol made by Trendmasters as part of a Mars Attacks toyline. It looks basically identical to the fallout 1 and 2 alien Blaster, the only difference is that the toy gun is available in blue and green instead of the brownish orange in the game.
Its either a figet spinner or it could be that they take arounds from the magazine load some into the revolver cylinder. While using the rest of the munition from the magazine. This way if if the remaining rounds in the magazine empty out it automatically swaps to firing the roundw inside of the cylinder is it practical no. Is it a cool weird idea to explain how the 10mm piatol may work yes. But everyone got there own idea. However those producing the Colt 602 realized that this idea was impractical and changes it to something more conventional and to reduce some competition it was under its own designation.
I like to think that F4's 10mm pistol was more of a civillian model, with a smaller chassis and maybe only able to fire certain types of ammunition, while the big chunky heavy chassis was reserved to military models, with them being interchangeable for production simplicity, it would make sense. This isn't remotely proven in-game nor lore-accurate, it's just an idea i like, and it would make sense, irl weapons do have civilian and military versions, I don't see why in the Fallout universe couldn't be the same.
A good video. I suggest the following. Don't show the item in use in a dark room, or at night. Avoid background playthroughs while discussing the item, as it is distracting
10mm is a great round but i hate the look of the 10mm pistol in the fallout games only time i ever used it was in 4 because of the lack of alternatives (i know the deliverer exists but should i be allowed multiple choices of the kind of gun i want to use for a round even 3 had more choices) but that's gonna change whenever i get 4 for PC and I can mod it
Most people use the term interchangeably, the legal distinction is dubious at best, and the perk says "pistols" while affecting revolvers. I get where youre coming from but this aint the time or place.
Weapons makers don’t care/have no say in video games. The only reason games change names is to distance themselves from real world weapons/manufacturers, usually for political reasons.
Cant stand using plasma in fo4 because of the slow moving projectile. Enemies straight dodge it easily. Even sniping an unaware target, they move outta the way unless you use VATS.
Great video as always! Toeing the line between interesting and soothing! I also wanted to point out that .223 isn’t the size of the cartridge in millimeters, but rather the caliber. (Funnily enough, the .223 is actually a .224 caliber 😂). I heard the term “.223 mm” and I just wanted to constructively drop that in here before anyone with too much opinion and too little empathy decided to go on an “intellectual tirade” about the matter. Thanks as always for the great content! You always deliver exactly what I’m looking for!
There's a bit of misinformation (or incomplete information) at the end. What you said there only applied to the release auf 76. By now, the Alien Blaster can drop as a legendary weapon, can be modded with elemental damage, and the ammo is just as available as any other ammo. At this point it's once again considered one of the best (if not the best) pistol if you got a good roll and the right plans.
They do. Guns in games are far more accurate than the average person, pistols exceptionally so. Instead of missing a man sized target at 10 yards like far too many people are capable of, the pistol can easily land headshots at 100 yards but takes a few to drop someone. Theyre balanced in the only way that wouldn't absolutely infuriate the player base.
You said "I wish all games would weight the pistols more realistically". Unless you actually meant weight as in "carry weight" im taking that to be your way of saying they should be better balanced, and I'm saying they are already well balanced by having poor damage but useable accuracy.
@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz Pistols in games are incredibly underpowered compared to reality. A 9mm rifle in most games will do 4X the damage of a pistol despite the reality that the slug is only going a couple of hundred feet per second faster out of the rifle. Pistols in games are essentially useless because they deal so little damage.
