Auto driving cars will not only be able to drive themselves. They will take the joy of driving away from people who want to drive. The plan is also to make private ownership of cars illegal .You will only be able to summon an auto taxi. And your trip, time and destination will be recorded and sent to the government. I love to diver. It is one of my favorite past times. Going on road trips. Weekend outings etc. Care are more than appliances they are a major contributor to our freedom.

The doors do work pretty much 99% of the time if not more. It just can't detect humans. But in a real situation it can open just fine

AFAIK you don't even have to click the driver door's handle for the door to open if you have the self-presenting feature and the "key" / fob on you.

How does the autopilot work? Does it use GPS or does it just follow the lines on the road? Or both? And what if the GPS signals are jammed? That can be dangerous.

the car has several sensors and cameras all around it that reads the road and can recognice other cars, obstacles or people. It is not controlled by the GPS. However it is still a little bit faulty and you therefore still have to be ready and alert so you can take act if needed. I have heard of a few instances where the car wanted to merge into another car or wanted to change lanes into another car but no crashes as of yet. The driver took control before it happened.

Yes, the new ones do have the hardware capable of self-driving, but the particular example you have here is not the AP 2 car; it's the older AP 1 car that will be stuck to level 3 autonomy.

you either press some specific buttons on the "key" that i cant quite remember or you have walk away lock enabled. That way your car locks when you are more than a meter away from it and it unlocks if you are closer than a meter.
