It doesn’t make any sense, when I am practising at home, I do want my average to show how fast I really am. That one last move just wouldn’t take me 2 seconds, if I count it as +2 than the average (I mean like ao1000, not ao5 or something like that) is just not accurate.
@@beranova. cause if you dont solve it then its a penalty. Its like you not finishing a chocolate bar but you threw in the trash and your mom is like wtf
This is nothing on topic of this video, (not that i made this)but I am getting 8 cubes, and thanks to you and the cubicle, it is cheaper due to your discount code!
I think code lube is still available to give u one free small lube which can save up to $6. Also i use jperm bcus i trust his link more than i trust myself to type it ever since that scam link controversy
I've had this happen at a comp once lol (SQ1, not even the right cube shape) I personally check go and ask to check the scramble after the round is something really easy comes up so I got an extra
I didn't know there was an algorithm you couldn't use at competition with the H permutation. Also I have been scrambling it with the orange face of the cube in from and the yellow face facing up so I've learned something new that I won't do again at home.
I lost my first Pyra sub-5 to a +2 and it really hurt, but I just didn't want to have a really good PB while knowing that I cheated because that would ruin my PB even more. After about 1 more week I finally got a real sub 5 btw, so I didn't end up having to wait for long luckily. Also yes, I suck at pyra
1:49 4d2) Pyraminx is scrambled starting with the yellow face (if not possible, then the lightest face) on the bottom and the green face (if not possible, then the darkest adjacent face) on the front.
@@maryemilygeiles262 The pocket timer does not work on all surfaces, especially soft surfaces like beds and sofas (but you can just put a book or something hard under it)
I actually learned about the incorrect way to use a timer. I posted a video of a recorded PB I got, and then got called out because I used the timer wrong. In the following video of my next PB, I used the timer right.
I believe theres a correction in your vid in regulation 4d2 it says "Pyraminx is scrambled starting with the yellow face (if not possible, then the lightest face) on the bottom and the green face (if not possible, then the darkest adjacent face) on the front" .
U know i am so wca law abiding that even it is ok to misscramble fot 6×6 and 7×7 when i get a miscramble i still solve then and scramble again because at the back of my head knowing i never actually got that scramble
“Keyboard is cheating” me: who cant afford a stackmat because my laptop was a christmas gift anyways “i guess ive been cheating the entire time ive been cubing”
i wouldn't even cube if i were to follow those regulations while practicing, they're horrible for playing at home/at gym. music on, dnf and +2 are deleted, wca scrambles are totally ignored, doing random 3 second scramble instead, timing it on phone(only while doing cardio). that is how i practice to feel improvement and have the will to practice more, as i get better times every week i guess i'll buy a stackmat and practice using wca regulation when i'll hear that there will be a competition nearby
a Wise cuber once said can't record your solves then tell a family member to record it for you don't live with family invite a friend over to do it don't have any friends THEn make SoMe OoOoOoO
I usually count all of my +2, but when I have a DNF, I just deleted my solve, so it doesn't appear at my "worse time" because it doesn't help me to know that I did a DNF, like I just know and remember it. So why should I keep it?
My timer keeps a best Ao5, so I keep the DNFs and +2s to avoid having an artificially low Ao5. With apps such as Cubest, I can go back and look at what PLLs tend to give me +2s. (My DNFs are pretty obvious. The cube falls apart and I can't figure out how to put it back together, I drop it and it falls off the balcony, one of the kids needs a diaper change, I'm being called into the doctor's office, etc.)
@@xavierbolduc0913 However you treat it, of course, is up to you. Whatever makes it fun. :-) I thought the Ao5 doesn't count the worst solve, so you wouldn't get an "DNF" Ao5 unless you had 2 DNFs in a set of 5. For me, that's rare because I'll finish even if it takes me 2 minutes for a 3x3 solve. But I can see this happening for someone practicing stopping the timer as quickly as possible.
I agree. I personally exclude the top and bottom 5% of my solves so that my graphs show more accurate values as this way i'm excluding anomalies, messups and +2s. So even if I do amazing on a solve, it doesn't matter as it will be excluded from my solves, instead, my overall average matters, so it encourages me to overall practise harder instead of aiming for that one fast solve. Though it's differennt with the 2x2. With the 2x2 Its a lot of luck so I just ignore all the rules and have fun seeing how fast I can solve it. my best is almost one second but average is 5 seconds so obviously luck makes this stuff kinda less competitive as it's mainly luck so I don't care as much.
For fmc, yes, on Bluetooth cubes, I think so, but just regular solving it is just m or m’ unless an unofficial solve where if off by an m move it is a dnf
