Barhalioun, Lebanon - We drove from Beirut to Barhalioun, a small village right near the Qadisha Valley in Lebanon. We spent an amazing 5 days with family enjoying delicious village food and exploring some of the local sites. It was our first time visiting Lebanon and it was a very special experience. The country is rich in culture and history and it should be on your bucket list. I hope you are inspired to come to Lebanon after watching this video.

I want to add a comment. Lovely symbol of Lebanese womanhood presents a wonderful image of the culture my country. From her family to our unbelievable culture. Like her, I was brought up outside Lebanon but I was there aged three to twelve. I’m 71 now and take pride in this heritage. So thank you again

What an absolutely beautiful video. The way you presented the whole experience, with such respect, such humility, such pride and such heart-felt emotion really touched us and caused tears to well up in our eyes - tears of hope for better days and a belief that there will always be good people in this world and that because of them good will conquer evil. A massive thank you from Australia where we’re missing Lebanon terribly & can’t wait to go back. I hope to go there one day. I am part Lebanese on my Mother's side. My great-grandmother told me stories about her homeland, and it always sounded amazing.

Bsharre is an overwhelmingly inspirational place. My ancestor Gibran's home now Museum in the old monestary built at the entrance to the pathway that once led the pagan worshipers of Ba'al. Thank you for taking me back. My family is from Ehedn. Women alone should not travel by themselves now. It is much worse now in spring 2024. It is not Italy or Greece. Things are worse now two years later. I am so happy you got to personally experience the great hospitality and see the resiliancy of her people.

Hi, my name is John I'm Lebanese who's been living in Canada for 31 years. I want to thank you for this beautiful video and all the nice and warm words you said about Lebanon and the Lebanese people. I've only been back 2 quick times and the first time was after 25 years of being away and I had the same feelings you had landing and leaving. This magical place call Lebanon and it's people will touch you like nothing and nowhere else, the cradle of civilization and I wish the people there know what they have because it seems that they forgot it otherwise they would not be doing what they are doing. My wife is from Hasroun and my mum from the North Akkar. My heart broke as a kid when I had to leave Lebanon 🇱🇧 💔 in 1982 due to the civil war.

Thank you for watching and I’m so glad you enjoyed. Actually I hadn’t heard many of these songs previously. It was only when I started researching for some music to go with my videos that I came across this compilation of songs. Unfortunately I don’t understand the lyrics but I quickly became obsessed with the tracks and I’m sure they talk about beautiful things in Arabic ❤️🇱🇧

I have a good Lebanese friend and so I started to like Lebanon as well. It's a much more interesting nation than one may think when you haven't researched it. Also regarding food. Lebanese food is wonderful. But to say it's the best in the world is likely a far stretch. My personal favorite nation on the planet is Greece for being an in-cre-di-bly gorgeous nation. But aside that, the food is so immensely diverse and heaven. If one nation with thousands of dishes can take that on that claim of yours then it's the Greek cuisine :) But Im not here to have debate anyway. It's a lovely video. I hope to visit Lebanon again one day.

I agree that it’s an incredibly rich and interesting country. Haha I am a big fan of Greek food too, but I will always have a soft spot for Lebanese cuisine :) some flavours cross over I think in both cuisines. I hope you can visit Lebanon again one day soon too.

Thank you so much for your kind comments. I don't have the lyrics for this as unfortunately I do not understand Arabic. From what I've heard, he sings about questioning why we came to Lebanon during the difficult time it was when covid was so high amongst many things. He also wished my partner and I happiness and wishes to celebrate with us in the future in Sydney (where I am from) and France (where my partner is from). Thanks again for watching!
