Kadisha Valley, Lebanon - During my trip to Lebanon, one of the most beautiful places we visited was Kadisha Valley. Not only is it beautiful, but the valley is gorgeously beautiful and has been the site of Maronite monasteries and caves for centuries. #Lebanon #KadishaValley #travel
Saint Anthony's Monastery of Qozhaya - This is one of the oldest established monasteries in Kadisha Valley, Lebanon, and they have a guest house at the monastery. So for one night during our trip to Lebanon, we spent the night at the monastery. The room was basic, but fine for us, but breakfast wasn’t the best I’ve had in Lebanon.
Cave Chapels and Monasteries - What I enjoyed the most was walking around the cave chapels in the morning. These are the same caves where Maronite Christians hid and have lived for so long.
Great experience in Lebanon.

Facts about the Kadisha Valley: -It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site -Kadisha means "Holy" in Aramaic -It is near the Forest of the Cedars of God, survivors of the ancient Cedars of Lebanon, the most highly prized building materials of the ancient world -The Qadisha Valley’s many natural caves have been used as shelters and for burials back as far as the Palaeolithic period. The Aassi Hauqqa (cave) in particular, near Hawqa, Lebanon, has yielded archaeological items indicating Palaeolithic, Roman, and medieval periods of use -Since the early centuries of Christianity the Holy Valley has served as a refuge for those in search of solitude. Historians believe that the Kadisha Valley has had monastic communities continuously since the earliest years of Christianity. It was also at times a destination for Muslim mystics, or Sufis, who also visited it for meditation and solitude.

@phoenician lebanese Phoenician, Aramaic-Syriac and Hebrew as well Arabic are all Semetic languages and one linguistic family. They have common grammer and phonetics, and if one of them talked the other can understand him. They all use Qadish or Qadisha for holy (Quds, Moqaddas, Qiddis in Arabic) as well salam (arabic) shlomo (Aramaic-Syriac), shalom (Hebrew) for saluting. So stop showing ignorance and racism. Qadisha is an Aramaic-Syriac as well can be Phoenician too.

Not only from Islamic times. The Maronites went to the Mountains during the Byzantine Orthodox Christian period, the orthodox Christians use to clash with the Maronites, the orthodox were the ruling class during that time, prior to the Islamic period.
@chadiazar1309

They fled colonialism, who wanted to kill them if they did not enter the Islamic religion or pay tribute BTW And before that's all it just an Controversy in dogma So if you wan know history, You must know it better
@finalprophet813
@finalprophet813 4 года назад
chadi azar I think you are not understanding what I said or you purposely ignored my point and are drifting. Yes there were dogma differences, but those differences led to war and violence. Before Muslim armies arrived in the mid 7th century, there was actually battles between Maronites & Greek Orthodox, they pushed the Maronites into the mountains, not all of them, but that was the beginning of Maronite having to be “forced” to live in mountains. But what I find interesting is throughout all the different Muslim empires & kingdoms, the orthodox seemed to live in the Levantine cities with the Sunni Muslims. Seems they got a long. Maybe the Maronites loved war? Also you say tribute? It was a government tax, the Muslims paid a yearly tax also. Also according to your logic, the Maronites didn’t pay tax under the Greek Byzantines/eastern Romans? Lol I think you need to go back and read history, in fact the taxes under the Greek Orthodox Byzantines/eastern Romans was much higher than the tax under the Muslim ummayads & Muslim Abbasids, many European historians attest to this. Also if they paid tax, Christians were exempt from many things, they also had the right to own land, worship in their church’s, they had their own civil courts to judge their own personal religious matters, they were also exempt from military service. Name me any empire in history that didn’t have tax laws or a first world modern country today that has tax laws, what happens if you don’t pay tax? Jail, imprisonments etc
@chadiazar1309
@chadiazar1309 4 года назад
@@finalprophet813 you make me laugh, you wanna make history,as you like it's up to you But for me as a Christian i hate war but if i have to fight i will like my ancestors to keep lebanon as the Lighthouse of civilization In the end you have to learn that Many invaders passed through this land, but Lebanon and its people remained.
