Bro i went for a 50 50 stall and I tried to go back down and broke my wrist. Today is the day when my doctor said I’m able to get back on the board. Ive been watching your videos and learning. Thank you and keep it up
@@motozombiekiller2545 wear wrist guards my bro, and you’ll be dialed in like a MoFo. Personally I wear knee pads and wrist pads until I get my lines down to a T, then may drop the knee pads. But I never, I repeat never, take off the wrist guards in the bowls
@@jaredhummel9687 yeah I'm the same way. You know you're self conscious about learning and they don't help so fuck em. If they were real skaters, they wouldn't be showing up late with their heads up their asses Fuck em
been skating street my entire life and im just now getting into vert and miniramp skating its dumb fun and i already had rock to fakies, tailstalls, axlestall drop ins and rock n rolls after a few days.. your videos helped a lot and are awesome to watch cool dude, defo leaving a subscription right here
Nice tips man! One thing that helped me gain a bunch of confidence in the bowl when I first started was getting a pair of knee pads and learning how to slide down the side of the bowl on your knees if you need to bail. You can end up doing stuff much further outside of your comfort zone without having to worry about whether or not you'll be able to handle the fall (which means you'll learn quicker 👍) Keep up the good work Chad!
If you ever know that feeling of showing up to the skatepark and meeting that one dude who has skated for 20 years and helps integrate you into the sesh, he’s the goat, thank that guy.
Your videos are so great. So many other people that try to give advice or tutorials for skateboarding have a pretty tenuous grasp of the english language. They can't express themselves clearly at all, they trip over their sentences and generally fluff about which makes the video difficult to watch. Whereas you're more succinct with your explanations. You keep it clear and simple. Hope you keep making more videos like this because you do a great job.
Killing it once again chad, I got front side five-o on the big ramp at my local today for the first time and your videos seriously gave me the confidence to commit to it.
Thanks so much man. I have been after some tips like this coz my local pool is really intimidating and over vert. I've been trying to get comfortable on the miniram first though and am still stuck on rock to fake lol. Long road ahead! How was that coffee btw? ;P
Greeting From San Diego! New to your page , still going through your videos , question do you have a video on how the arms are supposed to moved while skating ?
I’m in Bali right now and it is bowl heaven...not a lot of plaza parks so any of these are appreciated...maybe a more intermediate one next like how to stand up grind around a bowl curve?
I dropped in on a concrete pool, just as i was about to hit the transition i ran over a piece of plastic, my board stopped dead and i hit my face on the wall. So yeah, check for debris before dropping in y'all.
@@ratt9868 no, i tried rolling out of it, i hit the wall with the right side of my face, hit my temple, put a whole above my top lip from where my tooth split the skin and i grazed shoulder and wrist lol.
@@ChadCaruso Nice, I really liked this video. I can drop from the bowl, but I'm too scared to try any copping level trick. How about a video on best ways to fall from big bowls. I would love to learn more about that 😉.
IMHO there are some things to master before moving on to grinding on vert like frontside and backside kick turns, then kick turn stalls and then maybe even tail taps on the top.
Not necessarily. If you’re going fast enough you can pump the higher parts of a corner. If you’re not going super fast, you won’t be able to carve high _unless_ you use a different technique: I’ve seen people do less of a carve and more of a swing around the high parts of a corner, as if their board was a pendulum and their head was the pivot point. I recommend watching any video of Pedro Barros skating for a master class in pumping corners.
Thanks for the tips. I always struggle with flow and speed in the bowl and i never knew why. I think it's because im intimidated to learn the flow of the bowl like you said. i jump right in and do one trick and im done. Also, I've had these wheels for a year now and they're like 40mm now. I think that's also the problem.
Chad - your videos are super helpful, still familiarizing myself with quarter pipes and mini ramps. I’m a pro video editor, would love the opportunity to help you edit these videos.
Yes man, big up Chad!! Had my trucks too tight for sure, never really been able to nail bowl skating, just mini ramp and street. Very helpful indeed, thanks big styley!! NUFF RESPECK FROM BRIXTON!!
I have a 8.25 I just got it I had a cheap Walmart one oh and I live skating with others last time I was the best one there ever one there was just being
Go for it man. I got back into it taking my kids this summer and am loving bowls and miniramps. It's like being young again. It's beautiful. My 7 year old did his first proper kickturn at the top of a 1/4 today 😍
Hi Chad nice advice ! Re the wheels I have quite a variety. Red blue and yellow star trak Kryptonics and some Alva ditch conicals. What should I start with in your opinion? Thank you
I learned backwards I learn how to carve first which it took me about a year. And it's funny I learn how to carve in a big bowl but now I'm learning how to drop in on smaller stuff and I'm going to work my way up my 180s really suck so I'm working on that and I never thought about the loose trucks I have my trucks semi loose but they're still kind of tight but I'm going to try to loosen them up the next time I skate the bowl. Great Channel.
Chad would you pls tell me,if i should do 90 degrees position of my body or lean back all the time whenever i reach almost to the top? Replies would be appreciated..Thanks
I got a brand new zip zinger yesterday and ripped the pool at the skatepark. I spent like two hours trying to carve with no success and the next day I got it down in 30 minutes and was so so so happy. I’ve never been a ramp skater and now I’m in love w the pool
The only thing I disagree with is the 'lean back' part. You never want to lean back. The board will shoot from underneath you. You want to be on top of your board as if you're constantly dropping in. Always on top of it, also always going forward.
And then watch Peter Hewitt videos to see how to shred like a demon with zero fucks given,! Great video Chad, helping start the new breed of bowl skaters out there! 😎🙏
Tip 5 was mad helpful. Dropping in and choosing my lines no problem. Carving, kickturns and pumping, no problem. But I bitch up when I get near the coping arrrrrrgggh!!!
Just got a mean 9.33 setup with some rat bones and have been dying to take it into a bowl. This def made me feel a lot more comfortable for when I go again👍
Yeah ayh,me too...we are lucky here in our local town to have a great but unfortunately kinda small park, omg, when the place is rocking it has like 200 little maniacs cruising around in a total anarchy....so for a full two weeks I hung out after I finished working waiting for the place to empty out and maybe some of these Cinderella s might have to go home, didn t happen and I turn around and there was twenty other skaters doing the same thing, and respect I just didn't want to be in the way, getting the dust off my vert skills,or embarrass my self I just wanted to focus on my skating,so nite time didn t work....frustrated by the crowd, koblam I show up 10:30 in the morning and walla nobody here like may be 6 people and most important I had the big pool all to myself for 3 hours or as long as I could last...it worked out great and eventuality when I started hitting the tile and doing kick turns with most of my body out of the ten foot deep end of the bowl I went back to the nite crowd of really good park rats,we call em...but if u want to learn with a little less pressure u rite 9:00 am till 2 or 3 pm schools out u can have ur skate park all to your self and it really helps your focus,me I was pretty spoiled I learn to skate vert in a giant 14 foot half pipe, and was basically for like a whole year skating with one other pro and then by myself so I really not used to a crowd at all but its cool it fun to skate with others because every body brings a little different style to the game I'm good at blazing speed and front side kicks and airs so most of the experience old vert guys are good at that carving thing use was tauking bout, thanks, hey new York I heard use guys got a park on the pier.. IN NYC,rite on the Hudson, nice freaking nice,I'm from Brooklyn originally in Florida now so thanks for advice.and the fun attitude....u u gotta gift.
Welp in all my years of flat ground park/street skating that if i get into pool im buying a whole different deck slightly bigger with bigger wheels and a shaped deck! Old school 🤣
Hi Chad, first of all great channel fully packed of great hints and easy to understand also for beginners like me. Can you advise how big have to be the wheels? Again keep going really great channel
