Before I started my youtube channel, before i bought land, before I started my glamping business, I was (and still am) watching Tractors & Cream to learn. Thanks for everything you guys are doing!
Ah Jamie, what a lovely thing to say, I'm honestly blown away! You are doing an amazing job too, we are in awe of your channel. I feel like we should do another collab one of these days!
@@emmaguppy9545 ah amazing that makes me happy! If you think it would be helpful I've just launched a mentoring membership on the channel if you want to go a bit more in depth into your plans, it includes a 1hour 1 to 1 chat every month about any questions you have. Here is all the info... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e8K1trLkZ-A.htmlsi=5ageW2R-6pVl5pny But equally always happy to chat on here! Vicki ☺️
Hi there! I wonder how the domes and the insulation materials stand up to families w kids? I have kids and not sure if the domes and the materials will stay pretty and in tact after one season..:) any feedback? thank you!
@@Ar-jm3os hi! Thanks for your message. We are a really family friendly site and every single stay there are children of all ages using the domes. The insulation is very easy to clean with a damp sponge so I've spot cleaned a few. I've found the darker insulations are much better for not showing up any marks but in general the insulation all looks good still. The only one I've got issues with is the one that has a pale grey insulation. I had people use the fire incorrectly and managed to get soot stains all over it which was difficult to clean! I'm planning on taking some of the panels down this winter and giving them a proper clean but they have been up for 3 years now. Hope that helps! Thanks, Vicki
@@TractorsandCream Thank you !:) I am considering pacific domes and all I see is this pretty white and great looking insulation and vinyl windows which I am just thinking to myself wait till kids show up w crayons and poke a few holes in those...:)) all I want to do is kids and families but also def have a few sites for couples. Thank you again!
Hi, thanks for your message! I'm afraid I don't know of any there. I'm about to go and speak at the first glamping conference in Prague next week so hopefully this kind of thing will start spreading through Europe. I will let you know if I hear of anything definitely!
Were they expensive ? I'm always amazed at the cost of some glamping units. Especially the safari tents. I built our cabins that sleep four for around £5k. Fully insulated, heated, kitchenette , WC , kingsize bed and 2 singles and a veranda outfront.@@TractorsandCream
@@Dartmoorreachalpacafarm They are around £10k for the dome and all the extras like insulation, wooden door, curtains and solar vent. Yes you can 100% do it cheaper yourself, we built an A-Frame Cabin for around £2k but our planning permission for the glamping site only allows us canvas and I definitely couldn't manufacture our own canvas cover for anything. We did look into safari tents but they were prohibitively expensive!
Its surprising what can now be exempted with regards to structures . Gone are the days of tents or caravans being the only type of accommodation that can be exempt. We have a double decker bus sleeping 8 which is certainly a grey area due to its height but if the unit comes in at the right dimensions and is not fixed to the ground you have a strong case to argue . @@TractorsandCream
@@Dartmoorreachalpacafarm oh my goodness yes, the tiny homes we saw when we went to the glamping show America's were incredible and absolutely huge and would still be classed as moveable. If you've got a good imagination then there is so much you can achieve!
Well yes true, except I know how upset I would be if someone came and started one so close when I was already established. But all fair in love and business!
