Great tips. After years as a visual effects artist, I've decided to dive into motion graphics techniques. I've learned a lot of cool and useful techniques through your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks a lot for this turorial. As a second language speaker of English I usually don't have any problems following such videos. This video, though, is a big challenge. No disrespect, but keep this in mind to become even more popular.
The way you did the range selector on this was one of the best and simplest I have ever seen. Hope you make more videos like this. Would love to know how to blur/fade on a bunch of random letters in a word too. Maybe an idea for a part 2? Subscribed. Thanks!
it is as if you have read in my thoughts before in order to response (henceforth) on my useless questons by dint of this tutorial, especially the end of that one. thanks very much. now I know how you have make text animation with your Logo in the middle of cercles in some previous tutorial. keep going my dear
Love your videos, they are very helpful. But if I may be allowed to say, as a professional presenter myself, please slow down a little when speaking. It makes it difficult to follow, particularly when one is learning these techniques for the first time. Thanks! :)
Hi SonduckFilm, excellent tutorials which are really helping me. I have one issue with the last technique, after adding the displacement map effect, when I set the Displacement Map Layer to "Glitch Map", as you do at 10:34, nothing happens. The glitch effect does not show up on the text. Moving the horizontal displacement only moves the text itself to the side. Followed your steps precisely on my laptop and university PC, same thing happened. Any ideas?
Awesome video! , for some reason in the last one the glitch effects doesent aply but instead when i mode the max horizontal disc. my text move to the left or rigth, anyone knows why?
Despite how fast you talk (whew 😅) this is superrr helpful! And you make these so quickly/easily! Hoping watching these/practicing will get me to that level of ease with Ae
Wonderful wonderful. Thank you!! Mate. Great great quick lesson on making a rectangle a mask - the skill can be extrapolated endlessly. Only question is how to properly make multiple items interact with that mask instead of one title? Is that all pre-composing? Thank you I understand if you never see this lol.
beautiful stuff and very informative! could you please annunciate a bit clearer? some consonants are merged and garbled and it's hard to understand what you're saying sometimes. reminds me a bit of how flight attendants speed through their speech. but again, i dig the content of the videos, i'm not here just to rant
Hi Josh, how are you? I've been trying to create a title motion graphic for example 1, I was wondering how would you "animate out"? I've spent hours trying to work it out...Thank you
Hey Josh and everyone in chat, so I use windows for my Adobe After Effects and I see that the options for the Track Matte differ on my version. Now I'm not sure if it was updated and has changed or if this has to do with the OS I am using. When I try to find the Alpha Inverted drop down option, I am unable to find it under the Track Matte. Is there a different way I can find this mode and apply it? Would love any help in this area as I'm just starting out with AE.
Okay, so, I think I figured it out and just want to leave this here for anyone that may be experiencing the same issue. **I believe I have figured it out, but please do correct me if I'm wrong.** This is for the "Shapes with Titles" example. 1. When clicking the drop down in the Track Matte, I selected the "Motion" text layer. 2. After which a mask layer icon appeared next to the drop down box. If you click right next to it, the matte will be inverted. Additionally if you want to make it a luma matte, simply click on the mask layer icon that appeared.
question for you guys. Why do I need to precompose this solid? If I do everthing following these instructions but do not precompose - this effect is not visible.
how do I stop my mask from moving with the text? I've tried making position keyframes for the mask, but it keeps following my visual. They are somehow linked but I can't decouple them
@@lippygaming187 precomposing makes everything inside a single entity. For instance if you have several shapes and precompose them then go to the precompoition and change position or some other property the whole thing will change at once. Same for text. Precompose a text layer and you can change the text whenever you want while retaining any effects used on the text.
You must be missing some steps. I cant get even get the first one to work..The blue timer indicator never plays from beginning, always starts directly from where it is. And also the subtitle completely disappears after the mask has been put on.
some one, can you help me; when i increase the tracking value, it stretches towards the right, not from the centre, can somone plz help me to fix this!!
