The problem with ultra sun and moon is that aside from the ultra beast not much was added to the game. So if you bought sun and moon at launch you had to pay for the same game twice and then complete a second playthrough just to be able to use the ultra beast.

@@SERMareep2007 Well in the case of yellow the entire game was rebalanced to make it easier so while the story is mostly the same the gameplay is much different. In red and blue Mankey does not learn low kick but learns low kick at lv 9 and can be found at route 22 in yellow. Nidoran had double kick moved from lv 43 to lv 12. Pikachu doesn't learn slam, tbolt, or light screen by level up in R/B. Buterfree learns all of it's moves (except psybeam) 2-3 levels earlier in yellow. Red and blue were released February 1996 and yellow was September 1998 which is about 2 1/2 years apart. I'm not sure about the other generations as I've only put a couple hundred hours into the other generations as apposed to the several thousand I put into gen 1. Also gen 1 is just really interesting to study as many of it's mechanics don't work exactly as they should.

The ultra wormhole adds a lot of endgame and shiny hunting potential to the game.
