"BLOODY C***" !!! Now that was funny.... I swear, I enjoy watching the friendship between you two as much as the Knives... I have carried the same exact Opinel #7 in my pocket for the last 30 years. Those Victorinox knives loosen up too quick (I still have 2). I just purchased a Jääkäripuukko 140 a few weeks ago and it pretty much has put all of my other knives into the storage case (except old #7). That is a formidable blade that I would have no reservations at all carrying it into combat or camping.. My Ka-Bar just got retired and that is saying a lot. I have had it for 40 years and it has saved my ass more than once.

I've watched a lot DBK videos, but during this one I had a thought: if Bill and Ted were Dutch and were into knives they would these guys. Picture these two gentlemen as the main characters in Bill and Ted's Adventure and they traveled through time collecting knives! It would be hilarious....

Opinel #8 in stainless is a really good paring knife. I usually bring it when I travel to my in-laws to help in the kitchen because they have shitty dull knives. Also I recently spent a week-end peeling apples and pears to make compotes with the Opinel: Perfect! The combination of ergonomic handle and good slicing ability of the blade made it easy as a breeze.

I think this is a really good list. From everyday/small to large, from basic utility/backup to a bit nicer and cherishable. Obviously you are talking about knives, not multitools - many here would carry a Leatherman or similar as their EDC, but the principle is the same. Mora HD as a basic beater belt knife is excellent, and I like the fact that you totally agree on the Skrama as the big chopper in the arsenal. Behind all the roleplaying and humour is a lot of real knowledge of and passion for knives. Always a pleasure watching you guys. Ga zo door.

For all-round bushcrafting, camping, hiking purposes: Fallkniven F1 dz (lam cos). Before every camping/hiking trip I probably spend an hour deciding which knife to bring. 4 times out of 5, it is the F1 dz, beating out my S1 Pro, A1, Bravo 1, Bushcrafter, Garberg, and various other knives. The other 1 of 5 times, I force myself to take something different to justify the fact that I have so many other bushcraft knives. The F1 dz does everything well (assuming you also have a good splitting axe and a saw). It sharpens easily, doesn't rust, weighs very little and is comfortable in the hand. Another bushcraft/camping/hiking necessity, in my opinion: a small serrated folder for cutting things that tend to quickly dull a straight blade -- e.g., rope, leather, etc. A usually bring a 2 inch spyderco folder.

Dutch Bushcraft Knives -in recently been wanting to have a custom knife made for myself and I've just been wondering what's the best steel you recommend that I have the people making it use for my knife. I'm having them make a very large hunting knife full tang.
@DutchBushcraftKnives
@DutchBushcraftKnives 6 лет назад
mmm if you want stainless CPM154 is not a bad choice for hunting. My go to steel howeever would be CPM-3V or CPM Cru-wear. Both these steels are not stainless but dont rust very easily either. They are tough as hell and have great edge retention. Just store them clean and dry.

Knives you must have for bushcraft and survival. This is my budget list and all these knives work great. The total amount for al 5 is probably some 160 euro. I have no problem depending my life on these knives and I'm a survival instructor since 1986. Off course if you have more money you can buy knives that are more fancy or have 'better' steels, but we are talking about 'must haves'. 1. Victorinox Pioneer (or Farmer). As the last resort knife/multitool. 2. Hultafors RFR. An easy to clean stainless knife for food prep and small whitling. 3. Hultafors GK. More robust than Mora made of carbon steel knife for heavy duty use. 4. Ontario SP5 Bowie survival knife. Big knife and not to heavy also for small chopping. 5. Condor Eco Golok survival machete. Depending on where you go of course.

1. Opinel No. 8 (EDC: less weight and you can lock the blade), 2. Victorinox Swisstool (even more and better Tools), 3. Schweizer Gertel (heavy duty, fun and legal to carry), 4. some Chef or Santoku knife, 5. some bread knife. Just grab the ktchen knifes from your grandfathers kitchen, he knew how to sharpen them.

Matt Bosworth Matt great comment but can you bring your Gerber Gator out hunting or fishing or camping.I've read a lot of articles in the Shooting Times on this topic,one in particular where an elderly man and his wife were having a picnic,police stopped and searched them and found a Small Swiss ARMY knife.THE man was arrested and given a prison sentence.Awful,but if you would like to sell the Gerber I would be interested in buying it.Talk soon,take care.

Ok for me 1- knife everyone should have - Leatherman Supertool 300, strong knife, with huge functionality , the supertool is one of leatherman bigger models and cans do a LOT. 2- bushcrafting knife - agree with you, I opted for the mora bushcraft black. Just a damn good knife. 3- treasure knife - Esee 5, versatile durable and awesome. 4- chopper - KaBar Becker BK9. Chops like hell. 5 kitchen knife.- miyabi Kaizen 8 inch chef knife.

My 5: 1. A multitool: Victorinox Huntsman or victorinox swisstool (or a variant of it) 2. A large fixed blade: In my case my own designed 7,1 incher. But a fallkniven NL2-NL1 would be good too. 3. A small-medium blade: Fallkniven NL5 CoS 4. A luxury folder: any Fontenille pataud you like 5. Kitchen knife: Kai Chef knife Additionally i recommends a silky saw and a sword :D I think this is a good spectrum - you dont really have a cheaper in there but tbh I believe dew-it-pry-bar stuff isnt a knife task.

But now I have issue with your 4th choice, as the Fallkniven S1pro is for me the knife of knives except for the S1pro and oh yes! the S1pro without question for that there can be no doubt 👌💪🔪✨♠️💫

When I go multiple days to mountains/jungle/forest, high altitude, being prepared for survival condition but still lightweight enough to go fast, I would choose: 1) Leatherman Charge TTi (can replace the Victorinox pocket knife, Mora Companion backup knife and kitchen knife at once) 2) Tramontina (can replace the chopper knife and primary bushcrafter knife) which also good for batoning. I would love to bring Morakniv Garberg stainless steel, which is not only great for wood processing, but also safe for food processing. But I would not bring it since Leatherman Charge TTi and a Tramontina alone are already heavy, around half kilogram, and can cover he function of Morakniv Garberg.

Dexter Russell makes the best cost effective kitchen knives, in my opinion. For what you would pay for the Santoku knife, you would buy three different Dexter Russell knives. They hold a sharp blade for along time, they are comfortable, and the handles are anti-slip. Many chefs use these knives.

I'd use Victorinox Huntsman model as I have one actually and it is a great thing to have on daily basis. Well I've got that list pretty covered. Well as for me the list would go like: Got vic's, got mora hd carbon, got bushcraft knife from customblades.eu (custom made carbon steel), got custom chopper from LKW - The Dragon, and finally Victorinox kitchen knives. Well got pretty much more than that, just listed 5 essentials as you did. Cheers guys and see you next thursday. ;)

I carried a Victorinox and a Puma Game Warden for my twenty years in the US Navy. The Opinel is good if you are expecting dinner.

Yeah, the "Sakai Takayuki Santoku" is great, but when it comes to cutting vegetables I also love my "Global Cromova 18 Stainless Steel G-5". Hmm... come to think of it I would love if you could some day do a video about kitchen knives even though Mikki cannot cook. Perhaps it is time to learn ;-)

RUST....rust on a PARKRIVER!!! You just lost that knife, Mister!!!! What did I tell you? you could have a puppy IF you took care of it. Fed it, picked up its poops, bathed it each week, brushed its coat, and played with it. You did all those things and you got to keep your puppy. What did I tell you about your knives? Be responsible with them, keep them in your room, and take care of them. Did you take care of that BARK RIVER? Hand it over. Gosh I didn't know CMP3v could rust. Mikkie really screwed that knife. And yes, you are correct I did tell him that he could have girlfriend IF he took care of her, kept her happy and sexually satisfied.... You can guess why I took his girlfriend away from him. She looked so sad, like an unloved dog locked up in the pound. Sad, just so sad.
