I just want to thank you guys for this information, I've been Mac for years and only got my feet wet for a PC on your recommendation and the other video on you guys trying a PC laptop. I just couldn't justify paying over 4 grand for a new MacBook pro for the same spec windows laptop ie. 16gb ram 512gb ssd I7 processor..... bear in mind it was used and then refurbished by a IT tech.... Toshiba satellite... 3 years old, after taking these tips and using them, using this laptop has been awesome, 250gb of music onboard and for the last 3 months has been faultless on rekordbox 5.8 and serato dj pro.... working 4 nights a week. Dvs has also been faultless on either platform.... What did I pay? 600 Australian. I could buy 6 or 7 Windows laptops consecutively if each one shat itself every 6 months.... And still come out on top... Do I still use my 2011 MBP 16gb ram 256ssd? Yes, only to convert my serato music on rekordbuddy as this app is only available on IOS..... would I buy another brand new Mac? No probably not, are they good computers? Yes 100%.... but if I brought a laptop worth over 4.5g my wife would kill me 😉🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just did a gig and Serato froze up twice. Because the crowd was so awesome and forgiving they kept the vibe going while I switched to Mixxx and a 3/8" jack, and did not use my controller. Successfully finished out the show. These tips help immensely, especially the Serato processor tip. Thank you!

Thank you so much mate! Never had any problems in 10 years with Serato controllers but just bought a Denon MCX8000 and had lots of random dropouts. Ever since I did those optimization, it runs flawlessly! I am so stoked!!

Thanks for that! I have win11 ofc though settings haven't really changed -- I had all of them dialed in except USB Root Hub and background process toggles, I believed you just saved some headaches with my DJ software, so grateful for the tips!

Thanks a million brother I have been having glitches with my pioneer SB3 and serato on my pc laptop for a while now and this video definitely helped I am not having the issues any more, i DJ as a hobby and I just can't afford a MAC they are way too expensive so again a big thank you🤝🏾

I normally use a Game Booster App, the filosofy it's almost Tha same, It will do all those adjustments to the specific app (in this case Recordbox). But it's good to do it also manually and be able to check one by one. The close lid option its an amazing idea. Also, I use Ccleaner to keep my PC's log clean, delete all junk, and also choose which software it will run or not automatically during the startup. I turn off all notifications also to avoid any undesirable visual interference during I'm mixing.

Excellent tips, I've been using most of these settings on a 9 year old laptop with a 2.5 GHz dual core processor and it still manages to run Traktor 3 flawlessly. Albeit loading the software takes some time. The more tech savvy user should get a clean windows installation from Microsoft and get only the necessary drivers from their laptop manufacturer website. In that way you can obtain the cleanest possible install.

USB Option was good to mention. Forget High Performance mode. Enable Ultimate Performance mode via the Command Prompt instead.

This is a great video - thank you! I've recently moved from an old i7 laptop to a new Ryzen 7 4700U (both Windows 10), I'm also using the Pioneer XZ. I've noticed a few audio glitches during mixes and they also appear on the recording. I never had this problem with my old i7 laptop and it's been really annoying me as I thought moving over to a Ryzen 7 would be seamless and that DJ software wouldn't really challenge the processer. I also use FL Studio and have noticed delays with previewing audio samples too. I'm hoping that step one in this video will have an impact on these things, sounds like it definitely should, makes sense to me! Thanks again!

Hope this will solve my issue with drifting/analyzing. ive been on this for 3-4 days and many seem to have this issue but i have not yet seen a united solution for this.. Now i put my hope to that this settings will fix my issue.

if you get frequent cpu spikes in traktor pro, disable the wireless network card in device manager. The load meter isn't how much load traktor is putting on the cpu but how much bandwidth is available for the software, and wireless adaptor cards really interfere, just turning of wifi doesn't make any difference.obviously don't have any downloads running, and if you are on windows 10 open services and stop windows update stone cold dead and set to disabled as it will turn your performance into a complete Trainwreck without warning.

Great video. For me, the only thing missing is turning off notifications and turning off startup apps.

Another tip is to go into your power options and clicking on "choose what the power buttons do" and changing it to "nothing"... Cos there's nothing worse than accidentally pressing your power button during a set and having your laptop switch off lol. I'm speaking from experience *cringe*

So I just did all of these configurations. My laptop has the following specs Core i7 16gb of RAM 500gb SSD Whenever I use Serato DJ I can only use the application for about 15-23 minutes before it freezes up on me. As a Win user as well, I have a laptop dedicated to DJing. I run my music off a usb that i then flow into iTunes. So I added iTunes & Serato in my startup folder, and I dont even have to click to open them. Im lazy, i know.

I purchased a new pc.. (windows of course) I thought i could get away without having to optimize.. .i was wrong 😅

I remember 3 buttons that came in handy: ctrl, alt & del. I never got why they didn't make one command button for it since I had to use them daily 😁 I honestly don't know which OS would be best, they all suck. For now I use 2 Huawei smartphones for dj-ing, they run with the smaller NI interfaces. Perfect sound, hasslefree, cheapish. A bit too simple but it works.

Don't do it! If you implement the power plan as prescribed, it will A -affect your sound and B - cause your pc to freeze! I did as instructed and I experienced both issues. This was the 1st time EVER my lappy froze at a gig. I put the original settings back and guess what... ?

Just don’t bother get a mac and be done with it I learned the hard way and will never return to using shit p.c
