That was a delightful and informative video. I just learned about sanderlings today for the first time in Suffolk county Long Island. I’m already becoming obsessed.
I have often watch the sea birds form the beach or rocky outcroppings here in Connecticut. Sanderlings dodging waves to find food are fun to watch. Thank you for featuring them. Have a Merry Christmas!
Saw some sanderlings today out on Long Island NY and found this video because we were curious about their hunting/eating - fascinating video! Subscribed & looking forward to watching more of this series!!
You are welcome glad you enjoyed it. I hope you will check out my beach/ocean sea life play lists. For some reason my bird videos don't get as many views as many other of my topics!
When I lived near the water I used to love watching these birds running on the beach. It was entertaining to watch them doge the waves and the way they run so cute. The calms were interesting to watching them bury themselves in the sand, that was great demo thank you.
Merry Christmas Frank to you and to your wife (Don’t know her name). I hope you have a safe, healthy, and very happy time together. Hope you and your family have a Healthy and Happy New Year as well. Thanks for this video, I love the little Sandpipers. They’re always fun to watch when at the shore.
Merry Christmas 🎄 I just want to tell you that the other day my son seen a wooly bear and last night it snowed, and he's asking me if it's still alive 😢 He's such a good kid.
Awe! So sweet! Tell him it's all good! The snow actually acts as a blanket and the wooly bear is well prepared with antifreeze to peacefully sleep off the winter!! 😊 Merry Christmas!
Have you ever been to Tybee Island, GA? It’s a small residential island 12 miles outside Savannah, population around 2,500, and in summer it’s a tourist haven, but winters are great. There’s another uninhabited (by people) island, Little Tybee, where there’s wildlife and sea life to watch. You have to go out by boat, can put up a tent if you like. It’s very cool!
Yes ...love Tybee Island. Check out my video on Spanish moss filmed on location at a Campground on Tybee! Little Tybee? That would be cool .thanks for the idea.
@@natureatyourdoor I lived there for 10 years. Tybee, not the campground, lol, but lived out on the road to the lighthouse for a while. Tybee is like home to me.
@@marshavia8558 so cool! Small world right! We stayed at Tybee over thangsgiving weekend and our grand kids went to the top of the lighthouse! I was hoping to do an episode on sand dollars but they were absent over that weekend!
@@natureatyourdoor you have to look on the south end of the beach in the evening . The jetties past the pier sometimes have starfish on them when the tide goes out. I’ll have to show you my baby green heron photo. He was very angry at me for bothering him, lol.
north myrtle beach was my parents choice to take us kids for vacation / it was much less developed in the 60’s and 70’s / always amazed at the birds along the shore along with the crabs 🦀 and those borrowing seashells / thanks for the entertaining and educational story / 🙂
Always enjoy your videos! I am on the Gulf (Bay, actually) of Carrabelle, FL. I'm interested in the long black centipede looking creature in your intro as I have stepped on a couple (accidentally) and wondered what they are. Any info as to which episode to find that would be appreciated 😊 Have a Merry Christmas 🎄
Hi Kimmy! Merry Christmas!x I actually have several episodes on millipedes and Centipedes ...and how to tell the difference! Here is one : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5iOPwltr_50.html
And if that's not enough...check out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7wqQfYFQ0tQ.html let me know what you think! And fire away with questions!
Thank you! I have the American Giant...and was wondering why they kept getting on the porch or in the house...the videos explained probably damp. This house is on a slab, so that explains it! The one I accidentally stepped on, emitted a black tarry substance, the one in the house was crawling straight for my long haired dog and I scooped him up with a paper towel because I didn't want to be trying to untangle him out of the hair. Thank you again for all the info!
@@vettekkimmy9147 wow! They seem almost tropical!!! Thinking they might even be bigger in Florida. Humidity and rainfall and drainage I imagine is always a factor there!
