I will always love Tahiry for saying no. She asked for the issues to be fixed. You don't do that by proposing instead of changing. Joe thought having a public proposal would guilt her into saying yes despite how she was feeling. Tahiry wasn'y blinded by the need to be married, she wanted a healthy relationship.
But healthy relationships are so hard to come by these days that most ppl just settle for something bc they feel that it's better than nothing. What she did wasn't easy but it was inspirational.

I was watching the recaps of the show and she was saying she was scared of Mo. I honestly think he use to physically abuse her. Because during and after that relationship is when, after 7 seasons, she out of nowhere does a lot of work to her face.

I'm so happy that Tahiry said no to Joe's proposal. If you look back at their season, they had so many issues (mainly Joe's commitment problems). Unless you truly change for the better and sort out your relationship problems, you should not think about getting married yet.
And then later we find out he did the exact same thing with Cyn. Thought he could fix all their problems with a super public proposal. At the time we didn't know about how many issues they had...but we see it was why they never actually got married.
That joseline, Mimi, and Stevie scene will always be a classic. Joseline really thought she had a prize. Even when Mimi wanted nothing to do with him, he still wouldn’t leave her alone. But joseline was always mad at Mimi instead of being mad at Stevie for his disrespect.
What Joe did is exactly why I hate public proposals. It makes women (and sometimes men !!) look like the bad guy for saying no. I’ve seen it happen before and when I say people started booing, it was... A hot mess. It comes off as manipulative sometimes.

#1 wasn’t just a failed proposal, it was a sweet revenge for the former wife. And hearing Joseline getting angry at Steve J is just sweet music to my ears.
