Awesome tutorial!! I had a question though, I need to go into the title layer in order to transform (make the text move up and down). But when I do that I can't create kerframes. And when I change the position of the text, the mask moves with the text up and down. How can I fix this?

adding Black bars to a 16:9 is not the right way to do... if people on a wide screen 21:9 watch your movie they will freak out. The only right way to do Black bars is with a 21:9 sequenze and nothing else. You also dont want the Black Bars to get rendert and save all Bitrate for things you have to show and not Black Bars
