My 2017 Toyota 4Runner SR5 premium offers a 3rd row seat, but here are five features you can't get on this trim package that are offered on other 4Runner models. #toyota4runner #white4runner #5thGen4Runner #ytmikec
If you need a 3rd row seat, get a minivan..... can't beat the space snd practicality.....the Sienna comes with AWD too so offroading at Walmart parking lot is fine.... 😊😊😊😊
Same here. I had to learn how to use a key again. I am dumbfounded of why they don't offer than as standard. Originally, I didn't think it would be an issue, but all of those moments when I am standing there waiting for the4runner to unlock by itself adds up.
Very helpful video but in our case it’s because we are specifically looking for a newer 4Runner (currently own a 2007) *without* the 3rd row seat and keyless features. We like the “old school” nature of the 4Runner compared to other vehicles!
I was also on the hunt for a 3rd row 4Runner with the e-locker. Manual transmission would have been a plus as well. Luckily the Toyota A-TRAC system works very well off road. After purchasing we took our 2016 SR5 to Moab and were very impressed. Previously we had a 2000 4Runner with the e-locker. It's not exactly the same but close enough for our needs.
Hood can be replaced for one with a scoop on it although it is around $900 i want a hood scoop too but i just cant justify that price id rather buy a roof rack or suspension
I wold consider a SR5 Premium without third row seat, but not without keyless entry, electronic rear hatch. Iwould nevver go off orad so the A-Track would be sufficient.
I got a '19 SR5 P also and love it too! I travel for work a bit and have rented cars with keyless entry and push start. They were annoying at first, but came to like them. Have a Jeep GC Limited this week and like its better in a number of ways - keys (but no remote start), better acceleration and MPG, electronic lift gate. The GC was slightly cheaper too, but certainly doesn't have the resale value as the 4R, and not sure how long it would last. I plan on keeping mine to 300k+ miles. I've longed for a 4R for years, I feel like I'm betraying it by thinking it has any drawbacks at all, lol. I bought it, we're married now. Can't get divorced. Looks like your SR5 P, but with blackout package and considering black roof rails and rims. Might look into after market key fob too.
Yeah I love the Grand Cherokee too. Definitely a superior overall ride on pavement. We went with the 4Runner because the Grand Cherokee isn't offered with a 3rd row.
Mike C - yeah, my wife thinks the 4R is too big and doesn’t like it vs our ‘05 Pilot. The GC handles more car like vs truck like, but I wanted a more rugged SUV for ski and bike weekend. The GC seemed too pretty, no one questions the durability of the 4R. Plus, my ‘05 Camry has 320k miles and nothing is wrong with it. Not unusual for a Toyota, I wouldn’t expect a Jeep to last 300k+ miles. Something to be said for higher sale price when it translates to a higher resale value.
For the electronic trunk argument, I can see not wanting to have to open a trunk all the way with no hands free but it's a 4runner, the rear windows go down with the key
Great video. I just got a used 2018 4runner and it's great. When you went to the dealer and took it for test drive and they handed you the key. No smart key. I researched the 4runner before I got mine and I talked to people that I saw that had one and they all said the same thing they love it and it's a truck. As for the stereo, Pioneer, Sony and Alpine make great ones.
Roam TV I was very interested in the Taco til I sat in it. Being 6’5’’ I literally don’t fit. The distance from the seat to the floor is so short my knees wrapped around the steering wheel. The 4Runner was a no brainer being a tall guy.
Sad if it wasn't 4 my wife I would of got a TRD instead of SR5 PREMIUM....PREMIUM cost 2k more.... don't get me wrong SR5 PREMIUM 4x4 will do everything you want in terms of off road. A-TRAC is basically crawl control dumbed down! Rear locker is what I want but havent need it yet. All my 4runner buddies have TRD off road and I've never been able to go where they go... A-TRAC is all you need. Like Tacoma doesn't have A-TRAC has crawl control. All 4runner went right up TRD Tacoma couldn't make it up since no A-TRAC but then I said use crawl control he made it just a lot slower.
6:53 I respectfully disagree. I think that if a hood scoop, or vent of any sort (yes including the front facia of the 2014-2023 4Runners) is non-functional at all, it looks stupid and not cool at all.
I'd love a base model SR5 with the electronic rear locker and ATrac. Leave out the useless Crawl Control. Re the rear hatch... you need to keep your gun hand free of packages. This allows you to draw your pistol or open the rear hatch. I hate the Hood Scoop on my '19 T4R. It is useless and blinds you when the sun hits it.
Wow best most useful review , no push start , keyless entry , or scoop option . What a load of crap I was going to look to purchase one this summer because of 3 row but now thanks to your review I’m not interested. I hate when car companies do crap like that if your paying 30k it better have keyless entry . Well guess I’ll just look to buy something else
Matthew Johnson - ouch, sounds like he loves it but wishes it had another feature or two. He mentioned more than once he's taking it off road, don't think that would work in a mini van. It's all good.
