I started writing more fretless stuff the past year since I got this Cortex bass from Switzerland, been looking at combining these woods for a fretless for some time and couldn't be happier the way it turned out, big props to luthier Paul lairat and Pierre Camilleri from Cortex. New fretless basses like this are in the making, so much fun to play! I recorded these directly into my audio interface using a Darkglass Hyper Luminal compressor, Rodenberg 707b booster, Carl Martin Delayla XL, Walrus Audio D1 and a Boss OC-2 octaver. I used Ernie Ball Cobalt Slinkys on vid 1,2 and 5, Super slinkys on 3 and 4, gauge 100-80-65-45. Pickup is a Nordstrand Dual Coil with 2 band Glockenklang preamp, knobs are vol/bass/treble.
