Cheap, easy, water resistant, critter (raccoon, squirrel, etc.) resistant, easy to fill, slow release, no batteries needed. Best design for a deer feeder I've seen yet!
I like how simple that is. I just started running cams last month. Season is a week away here. I will make one of these after season is closed. Thanks for sharing.
This here a doggone sho nuff good easy method of feeding and holding deer! I just today have discovered yo channel! Thank you much crazy Scooter! I'm now a subscriber! Take care and go easy young man! Later on down the road!
after Dem bucks get used to that ting tingin you just bring a coffee can with some corn in it and shake it up a few times while in the stand. forget the grunts and rattles, I'm using the ting tinger! hahaha. this is a good idea and the guys commentary is even better
for the people that say this is scaring the deer off, it takes time for deer to adjust to this kinda stuff, their not just gonna automatically know that ting means corn is falling, takes time so put a few up after season, not during. Deer are cautious animals they arnt gonna just come running to something new, put it in a heavy traffic area, close to a mineral lick, crossing, food plot etc, get em used to the sound, eventually when they associate that noise to food they will come running, almost literally
Good idea! I had the caption going while I watched it and hands down the funniest thing I’ve seen all day. I have the same accent and seeing thing thing trying to figure out what you were saying had me rolling.
Love the design of this feeder. Went to TSC and bought the stuff to make it. The camouflage 5 gal. buckets are a little over $3 right now on clearance. Red lids are $3 but they got a better one, white, for like $8. I went with the cheaper lid. What size hole is in the bottom of the bucket? Thank You
Don't let anyone bullshit ya . Have a neighbor feeds his cattle by rattling grain in a big tin pan to call them. The deer are right there with them at feeding time. This should work the same.
How often you have to feel the bucket with corn? And I bet it does fair job from keeping the racoons away. I'm going to try to make a little bigger version of this and put it on legs.
Man , hogs on my place would have a field day with that rig, they cratered a 55 gal feeder with pipe legs, 7’ off the ground,They leaned on the legs with their body weight toppling the feeder full of corn, ate the corn & stomped the barrel & timer to pieces! Lol! Good Luck with that !
This feeder is PERFECT. I bought some land that is a 45 drive away from my house and there is a piece of shit low life that lives a couple miles away and will steal anything that aint sunk in 6ft of concrete. I have stayed out there twice trying to catch him on my property. I have been wanting to put trail cams and feeders on my land but i may as well just drop them off at his house and save myself the trouble of setting them up. This is perfect. I have access to all the food grade buckets that I want and I will dremel up the threaded rod so it cant be used if stolen. Putting a couple out on sunday.. thanks for the idea.
On a windy day you loose all your corn. Need a timer and battery. Moultrie feeders are cheap and you set timer when you want it to feed and how many seconds to run.
Instead of everyone B!tching about the damn metal can. why dont you just use some PVC pipe. and instead of the ping ping pinging , it will just go click click click . nice set up
How do you “adjust the gap just with your nuts”? Damn, now that’s a skill. Doesn’t that hurt?. It’s a good thing I was already born with “double nuts”😂😂
Update: I replicated this bucket feeder exactly as the video. No deer have even get close to it. Very disappointed. Only squirrels got to it and ate the plastic bucket and then finished all the corn... Don't waste your time and money, just put $30 more and get a metallic drum and time feeder from walmart. You will thank yourself for doing that. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
get a metal bucket and cover and do it the same way. The point IMO is to have the deer associate food w the sound, and then replicate the sound naturally in the fall when you can no longer bait (in some areas) nor use electronic calls/sounds to attract deer. If your timed feeder does it, great. If you can't replicate the sound of your timed feeder without electronics, then in states where that is prohibited, it won't work.
Thats funny cuz I just put 2 of these up exactly like his 2 weeks ago. Took 3 days and now the deer won't leave them alone. Will be filling up again in a few days. They tend to nose the all thread right at the bottom of the opening. Ting ting ting on my czm vids lol
