Thanks for that, Duke. I've made a modified version for my new flock of chickens as they were reluctant to use the normal treadle feeder. It needs a bit of adjustment, but they took to it straight away!
Great video. I used to see these types of feeders when I was a young'n (I'm 36 now) on folks property and in the forests here in east Texas. Don't see this type much anymore, definitely the old school way. My kids and I are gonna make one for a project to put on the back of our property. Thanks again!
Update, had me a free paint bucket i scrounged out of the dumpster. Son got me 5 of them pool extender handles he got from Academy for a nickel a piece. Had the rest of the material and made this in less than 5 minutes. So glad i ran across this. Thanks again.
I saw your question but can't find it to reply...all I can tell you is my own observations and as you walk ye can see them move downward if they are slightly out of their burrow...just natural vibration...but the Worm Gitter makes a vibration that can jolt them and they come up from the ground...I have seen them shoot straight up extended and then just fall over...but yeah....when bringing them up some probably move down too...thanks fer askin
Dog gone good ideal thanks brother I got deer n turkey running out my ears here my neighbor went by the other morning bout 8 he said my back yard was full of turkeys I think I been blessed with this stuff you n yours have a wonderful weekend take care :)
Hey Glenn! You might want to go to a metal bucket and a small dog chain...I had a squirrel gnaw a hole in the edge of the lid...I never had it happen I guess cause we use to have more coyotes
My biggest problem is that people keep stealing my feeders and I'm tired of wasting money for it to be gone in a few weeks. I'm hoping something like that will not disappear if so at least I'm not out any money. Thanks so much.
Cuz , I just finished making a PVC feeder but I believe I'll make 1 or 2 like yours , the price is right and it will work . thanks never thought about it .
Duke, I never throw away a broom handle. Good advice! I find myself reusing them every year for one thing or another. Why buy an expensive feeder when such a simple, elegant device like yours suffices? I've never seen a feeder like yours but I love the straightforwardness of it!
Hey Juanelo! The feeder is basic and easy to build! Hope the deer can find it! Looking forward to fishing and having dinner with you and Ms. Lulu tomorrow evening!
Hey sir , me and my family really enjoy all of your videos and appreciate you taking the time and effort to make your videos and share your experience and knowledge , it helps us younger generation, where abouts are y'all located ? We are in southeast Louisiana
This is a better one... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tN4wERJzWQY.html The squirrels chewed through the plastic bucket...if a bear finds it he'll tear it up...make the center pole out of a metal broom handle or conduit so the squirrels can't climb it
