5 Genshin Characters I "Regret" the Most 

2 or so years without a cold...the streak couldn't last forever...

It's always fun to see other people's "regret" lists because, being an F2P player myself, I'll inhale absurd amounts of copium before I utter the words "I regret this character"

Best feeling is pulling for a character and kinda feeling like it was a mistake, forgetting about them for a while, and then randomly discovering how fun they are for certain tasks!

Finally someone else who doesnt hate ayaka sprint. Its good for exploration and can even make her walk on water forever. Not only that but it also gives her the same speed as tall male characters which are the fastest. Plus its still good in combat you just need to get used to it..

I personally don't regret pulling for any of my characters. I've grown to love each and every one of them.

Only character I regret is klee, she's still level 50 and I was already a yanfei main before pulling her. One character I started to regret was Cyno, but now the only thing I regret doing is not getting his weapon, I love him soooo much

Albedo… he is the only character I regret pulling. Just because of his limited bis sword that I didn’t even have a chance to get. The damage difference between HoD and cinnabar sword is so huge. I mean, having a character and knowing you will never get his full potential is heartbreaking. When they put cinnabar sword in Albedo’s trial I thought they will make a way to get old event weapons, but it was just a copium 🥺

I've started prioritising characters I like the playstyle of over meta characters. I don't really regret building big dps numbers but I really enjoy quickstyle swap reaction combos. My fav team rn is ayato tighnari fischl and kokomi :)

Imagine if MYH gave us balance patches to fix the messes they keep releasing in clearly unfinished states. I.e Klee or Dori. Would be great to see them on the saem level as other characters.

i only pull when i like the character, so it saves me from having this list. the only limited character who sort of falls in this list is klee, who i got from a guarantee at 1.0 because i didn't know how the pity system works. still, i think she's really fun to play. i actually only built her a year after i got her. i bring her to abyss every now and then to challenge myself

ngl, I almost got Haran for Ayaka because I found her dashing + NA + CA way more fun than her burst and I hated using her burst, especially when it missed.

The second reason to not like Xiao is kind of a skill issue tbh, but I understand that. Not everyone wants to plan where to push enemies and obviously everyone has their preferences. I mean my favorite character to play is Diluc lmao he's not everyone's cup of tea

HOT ass take: Yanfei isn't more fun Klee. She's more fun Hu Tao.

I regretted pulling Miko in her first banner. But dendro made her a bit better but the energy cost sucks especially since her skill doesn’t give her energy.

The moment i saw dori's attack animation I was already, Nope not gonna use this character

I don't have regrets because I'm the type of person who only pulls for a character if I like them. Really saves me the trouble of having a list of characters I regret pulling for.

Cyno being the most regretable character from the community hurts me as a Cyno main. Did they not use him with nahida? He is insanely strong in quickbloom, he is meta in CN server too.

Always very happy to enjoy the evening with your uploads. Highly agree with Dori too, I actually had a pretty good anticipation that it might be a good alternative to Kuki (I didn't have her at that time) and ended up into a pretty strong disappointment. As much as I don't personally enjoy claymore users, having Dori was pretty bad for me :'))

The only character I "regret" pulling is Ganyu in 2.4, not because she's bad or I don't like her, but because I realise that her synergy with the characters I had at the time is not so great. The only Ganyu team I could play was Melt with Bennet, Xiangling, and Diona, and this wasn't so great when I needed Bennet and Xiangling in the other half of the Abyss. I think it would've been better to pull for Zhongli at the time.

I also wish for everyone, but characters I rarely use are Eula, Shenhe, Albedo, Zhongli (yes Zhongli) and Klee

If there's one character I regret getting it would be Nilou on my old account.I don't hate Nilou at all but I do wish I pulled for Albedo on his banner instead since I mained Klee on that account and and thought it would be wholesome for klee to have her brother with her.

I kind of regretted Ayaka for a while, I pulled her bc I needed a strong Cryo, but I ended up using Kokomi and Venti way more and with Dendro Cryo is even less important, but tbh her skin has made up for it, now I'm trying out some stuff with Layla. The only character I kind of regret is Hu Tao, I should have skipped because I had no clue Eula, one of my favourite chracters, was rerunning next, but I feel like I wouildn't have regretted her as much in a different circumstance. With Mika around the corner Eula is gonna get a rerun for sure (like I really hope so it's been a long while), so at least it will be over. I kind of disagree with Eula being formulaic, I don't enjoy Itto in the trials but for Eula from what i know there are different ways to play around your burst, you can swap and release it earlier if you feel like the rotation is getting longer and you don't need as many damage, in trials I've done I hate Itto but I enjoy Eula much more (I even prefer Noelle to Itto playstyle wise Itto just has the worst playstyle for my preferences even if I love his character, I would really have regretted pulling him if I ever did). I got Yae originally because my best friend got her,ended up loving her completely,kokomi came out of nowhere and now she's in any team i make,cyno same,both him and kokomi came at super low pity and won the 50/50's,cyno was bound to stay low invested but then i got his polearm and he is just so strong,and like 3 days ago alhaitam came out of my wish number 20 and well,happy Regret having diluc c1 and building him tho

I don't think I'll ever regret pulling for a character because the only characters I really pull for are ones that I kinda want regardless of how much I think I'd play them. I got Nahida because she's adorable (knowing I'd barely play her), I got Wanderer because I like his character arc and his voice lines sometimes make me laugh ("quit following me!"), and I got Xiao recently because the chasm archon quest made me emotionally invested in him and he has my favorite character design in the game, but I honestly didn't think I'd play him much! his gameplay took some getting used to but now I find myself crashing random hilichurl camps for no reason just to play him for a liiiiiittle longer every day lol (my ability to build characters is, frankly, embarrassing so spiral abyss is out of the question). I also only pulled for Layla because she's starry and pretty, and I plan to pull for Mika just because I think he's the cutest thing. my account is basically just a gallery of characters I like looking at lol

I'm suffering through using Dori because I've never picked up a Shinobu. But trust, the second she appears on a banner next, I am wishing a million times, haha.

:0 The first person who also kinda regretted pulling for Ayaka!! I don't particularly know why I regret pulling for her, I just find her to be a bit annoying. Not sure if it's personality-wise or playstyle-wise. She just gave me the same ick that Itto did.

Guide videos often say that Albedo can fit into any team if you don’t know who the last member should be. For me, he almost only exist in mono geo. Outside of mono geo, he’s mainly there to take the spotlight from the main dps. He can also buff EM but I’d rather use Sucrose for that, who I don’t even touch nowadays

I too love Ayaka and Mona sprint. I personally want a pyro with one of these sprints because it would be fun to just set fire to the grass

I've used to regret my Xiao, but recently i got a Jape spear from the standard banner and the release of Faruzan too made him more interesting to use again

So about Dori, her electro self-infusion is quite meaningful for kazuha/sayu's swirl in teams where Nahida yeet away all the electro w/ her dendro app. She's definitely useful in Yae/Kazuha/Nahida team to battery Yae without sacrificing survivability and whatnot.

I don’t really regret Ayaka but she is the only character who’s dmg I have that has dmg that I wish wasn’t surrounded around her burst

I love hypercarries like Itto, Eula, Xiao, etc. But my only regret is Wanderer. I wish his blue stamina would deplete much slower when you dash or elevates. Also his damage is so underwhelming without C6 faruzan or C4 jean.

I think I have "summoner's remorse" because a lot of characters are left unused until some rare event when I decide to pull them out. I've even stopped trying to build everyone because so many just end up collecting dust...that and artifacts can burn. Honestly, I feel bad about it too.

Even when Albeto was the worst. Mine was CRACKED. I don't even need to refarm for the new set (although I am trying, but I really don't want to farm for another year again, plus I have other characters to raise) Then his new sword put him as my best character.

I haven't pulled much at all since I only joined fairly recently, I don't really have any regrets so far but I do sometimes with Wanderer

To everyone that really regrets a character, I hope one day a character you really like comes along and the character you regret ends up filling a perfect spot on a team with that character. The game is not complete yet!

Meanwhile I love Eula for being braindead straightforward for when I have to play on a phone and aiming with my Ganyu becomes annoying, lmao.

No regrets for any characters tbh because I have a rotating main team so I always use different characters to keep things free. The closest thing I have to a regret is tartaglia since I got him while trying to get rosaria but I still use him occasionally especially when up against mobs.

Eula is one of the characters i would love to pull since i like her personality but i might not pull her because i am not a huge fan of physical.

i don't regret getting dcaramouche even though he's benched and unbuilt. he helps me with exploration and getting to areas i couldnt have got to before (because no kazuha or venti)

It hits different when you try to build supports around the character that you pull rather than pulling for characters hoping they would work with typical supports like Bennett, Xiangling, Xingqiu,...

Agree about ayaka burst. Have you seen it in beta? It looked like she released an invisible shadow clone who went on a rampage with its blade, no clue why they changed that.

personally, i dont really find myseld really regretting anyone. I like having the choice of a different playstyle and regularly use everyone!

Yaoyao really saved Cyno for me. He was benched for so long and suddendly I can't go out without him anymore

Hmm... Stiiill gonna be pulling for Ayaka. Gave in using my Welkin currency for her Fontaine outfit, likewise have a soft spot for gimmicky mobility (hey, Kazoo pogo!), and here's a reason for ya: I still don't have a character who can double my weapon material synthesis. Skipped Alhaitham, but I have some catching up to do now that I've jumped up to AR56/WL7.

Ayaka is honestly one of the few characters I’m just not interested in getting at all. Probably one of the last characters I’ll ever get whenever I do get around to pulling for her

Agree with #1. I have Cyno -- who I don't use -- because I was collecting the 4-stars. I don't have Dori at C6, but I did wreck my pity to get her and it absolutely wasn't worth it.

Never had any regrets bcs i only pulled on characters i really want

Well. Im very picky when it comes to pulling new characters. I think the only character i regret pulling is Childe (mr cooldown). But to be fair i never really wanted him, just wanted to try the act of "pulling". Also Albedo, but again, i pulled for Bennett Sucrose and Fischl. So Albedo was an acceptable collateral damage:)

Ayaka is my biggest regret. She’s just boring. I also kinda regret Zhongli tbh. Pulling Zhongli is like smoking for the first time. Now I’m addicted to him.

Mona-Ayaka dash is best for dodging. It consumes less stamina and you can do it multiple times. You can just slams the button multiple times and even you can dodge the raiden shogun attacks

The only regret 5* character I have is diluc who is c1 ... All my other limited 5* are perfect for me . Given that I am very lucky with my summons and a c2 nahida that came out of nowhere .(Kazuha, Ayaka,Yoimiya ,Raiden,Yelan and kokomi have been very useful and my team options are many so I don't get bored of them ☺️👍🏼) My next target is yelans bow with 160 pulls saved up for it next is probably dehya if she gets a decent buff or eula/shenhe.

What you said about xaio is true there was a domain in sumeru that creates a vortex that suck enemies if you do plunge attack and that made me clear the domain in seconds even though my xaio was not well built .. maybe they don’t want to do it since in his c6 you won’t be doing much plunging unless I’m single target

Totally unrelated, but I have never realized that you can break that wall at 8:39, I always crawled through the small cracks when farming those guys :D

i regret doing a 10-pull when approaching pity on raidens banner lmao… i accidentally got one raiden at 80 pity and her c1 in one multi and I regret not doing singles because I could’ve gotten alhaitham…

While I enjoy playing Cyno, I kinda regret getting him because I feel like I will end up replacing his team in abyss and that his actually strong team is one I don't like

I definitely regret Eula and going for her c1 and signature weapon, and I regret pulling Childe though it was mostly for a joke anyways. The boy stays at level 69 until the kills enough stuff to level up.

I briefly regret pulling for characters, when, cuz of my inability to save primos, I don't have enough for everyone. In 2.5 I regretted pulling for Yae, cuz I lost 50/50 on Raiden, but could've had enough primos (but I grew to love Yae so much), then in 2.8 after pulling for Yoimiya I thought I won't have enough primos for Kokomi (I got her and both are irreplaceable now). Other than that, I'm happy with every 5* I have Upd. But when it comes to 4*... I collect most of them just for collection, without even thinking to build them, but there was one I kinda regret pulling - C0 Faruzan. The following happened: I lost 50/50 on Tartaglia's banner and wanted to save 100% guarantee for Raiden. At the same time, I was waiting for both Wanderer and Faruzan, but I needed to look at test run to fully decided is I'll roll for Wanderer or not. So, when it was out, I understood that Scara is not my character, so I didn't want him, but wanted Faruzan for Heizou. I got multiple heart attacks while trying to get her. However... I don't use her and mostly use Heizou with Kazuha. Faruzan's energy problems are horrid, I gave her ER% sands and R5 Favonius, but it still feels like I greatly lack energy. I was so excited for her...

I don’t regret pulling a character or leveling them up but I do wish Razor was a bit faster defense only helps so much

As for Dori I find that I actually use her on an aggravate team and for a very specific reason. To help understand the why let me explain another team and a problem in it. I had played an aggravate team of c4 Yae Miko, C2 Nahida, C0 Kazuha, C6 Fischl. Now with both Yae Miko and Fischl both applying electro Nahida keeps clearing it off what feels like every second from the enemy and that makes getting electro swirl on Kazuha really iffy. I found a way to get around this problem by swapping Fischl out for Dori. Sure I lose Fischl DPS but compared to the monsters of Yae Miko and Nahida on the team it really didn't feel like I was losing much of the overall party DPS. Dori's burst when down applies electro to the active character and Kazuha can use that to swirl with even if Nahida refuses to allow electro to stay on enemy. So basically trading Fischl for Dori is a change to make the rotation easier and adds the comfort of heals at the cost of a little bit of party DPS. If Yae Miko and Nahida were both c0 with f2p weapons then Fischl's contribution to party damage would be a much higher percentage but with how strong they are really out classes whatever Fischl can bring. Also I did give Dori a budget build, I gave her artifacts I already had so I didn't farm for them and I only leveled her to 80 and leveled her burst only to lv8. My Dori gets her burst back in seconds and reliably has it ready on CD with such a budget build. I was using her at C0 for all this as I just got the free one from a past event and I didn't dump any wishes in her. I have zero regrets on my Dori. I did get her c1 from a free wish on standard so that is just more reliability to activate sacraficial greatsword ability.

While not an owner of all characters i regret pulling eula right now: , i pulled her when i was still new to the game and didn't know anything, i pulled her just because of her autos, i didn't even need to know her burst i played her in trial her autos seemed really fun and as someone that was playing physical kaeya at the time and also physical razor eula felt like a perfect fit, and my past self loved eula.... and then inazuma came out. Not only did i get ayaka, i got incredibly lucky and got c2 raiden while trying to get c4 xiangling (about 70 pulls total with carry over 50 pity from ayaka banner), but also enemies just countered her, you had enemies that would be mobile and not let you attack them like rifthounds especially electro ones (because you carried electro on you so they were always enraged), you had the rise of PMA that meant i did less physical damage and most importantly I as a player changed, i started liking different teams i started liking using taser, reverse melt, freeze, i stopped playing eula even before dendro came out, now that it's out i have even less of a reason to play her. and it makes me sad but somewhat nostalgic to think back about eula but i don't think i want to go back to her. she was a character that helped me get 681k crit in 1 single strike, and while i can't beat that right now i can see myself being able to in the future.

5:37 Acording to theory crafters Yanfei is INDEED stronger than Klee ! Although she's only about a 5% DPS increase , Yanfei is so much smoother to play than Klee , and thanks to being a 4 star you can get her cons way more easily , her C4 even allowing her to become a pretty good shielder

I think the one I regret most pulling for was Raiden. I got baited in by the hype trailer and her burst animations, but when I played her story quest, and with all the quests in inazuma in mind... my impression of her dropped to rock bottom 😭

As A F2P . I just love when a yellow color appears when I pull wishes.

I regret pulling Yae Miko, I had her BiS. I simped for her the moment I saw her but after I got her something about her feels off. I tried to make her work, put Fischl on her, do Aggravate, do Benny, do Hyperbloom. I still feel unsatisfied. I then realized that I like being interactive in battle, that’s why I like Ningguang and Ayaka cuz I need to keep clicking buttons. Though you could do NA Yae Miko, Ningguang’s NA is still more fun and has gimmicks to it. On the side note, I also feel the same way with Venti. I kinda regret him cuz I cant make him work on chonky enemies but the moment you need him, he feels worth every hours of my chest hunting. Also, I thought I regretted pulling for Nilou but she made abyss a child’s play and her cutscene in Samsara is 🤌 lol.

I wouldn't say I regret any of my characters, because just having them makes me happy. But sadly, many of them are almost never used... Xiao and Wanderer for exemple. My xiao is pretty strong and I love his gameplay, but I never feel the need to use him in the abyss, because he is never the best option. As for wanderer, mine feels very week, and just like xiao I don't feel the need to use him. Venti does not see many use (depending on the type of ennemies) because Kazuha is just too addicting and is also very good with small ennemies, plus he is easier to play. Many of the new 4 stars are not build and stuck at lvl 20 for now, but I'm working on it ! I have finally leveled up Thomas, sarah and kuki (not much but she can wait a bit). I am collection all of the necessary materials and I really want to have them all at least lvl 80 (except aloy... sorry not sorry) If genshin gave me more insentives to use any of them over my stronger and more versatile characters I would love too, but it never seems necessary :/ Plus I don't have enough resin for all of them to have one permanent artefact set (ONE DAY !!)

I do not regret pulling her, but Nilou is the 5* I use the least This is not because she's bad, she's the best at what she does, its just rn it feels like her team isn't complete yet I got Nahida and hoping to get Yaoyao too, but it still feels like a future character is gonna complete her best team and idk how long that'll take

Ganyu. The idea that I have to play around her charged attack feels so tedious. And this says a lot when I main klee, but at least you can aid her "clunkiness" with cancels and positioning. Also, Eula just because physical feels like a fossil of a concept.

I remember co op ing during klee's first rerun, and everyone was saying she was the strongest character. How things have changed

I also wish more units had special dashes. I was fully hoping Nahida would have a special dash, being basically nature herself. But sadly she didn't. It was also one of the reasons I rolled for Ayaka. It's really helpful when traversing water/OW.

I always use the same characters (Yelan, c6 DPS Benny, Heizou, Keqing, Tighnari, Noelle, Albedo, Gorou, Kuki, XQ, Layla, Kazuha, Amber, XL & Nahida) When I get a new one I lv him up the talents to 9, play him to friendship 10 and drop him because I like the old ones more and prefer to use them again. It's kind of sad I pull so rarely new characters but could easy sort out 5x 5* and have my fav 5* (Yelan) on c6...

The only “regrets” i have are when I pull a character/weapon but then a another character/weapons I want comes along afterwards. Soon the banners pass and I don’t get what I want but my hype and excitement have died down and I don’t really have any regrets. Even though there are some characters I don’t use anymore, I’m just glad I got them cuz I just like collecting stuff. Plus, there will always be reruns. Good weapons and characters are now getting stuffed close together so I’m pretty sure everyone “regrets” pulling something.

my regret is wishing on 2 main dps pyro banners: Hu tao and yoimiya. It's not that I despise them, it's just that I could have saved the primos for other main dps that arent pyro. I mostly struggle against pyro enemies bc i dont have a cryo main dps for example. I could count nilou tho but her gameplay isnt about killing pyro enemies it's about making dendro cores i just really would like someone like ayaka bc kaeya is.. meh not bad but not fun for me at least. (edit): i also have many pyro main dps that are good (yanfei, dps xiangling) so getting them wasnt really needed, i could have easily mained yanfei and i would do pretty good since she's catalyst and catalyst is the best weapon at least for me because my fav gameplay is doing elemental reactions.

Your view on Ayaka is almost identical to mine. I like her dash and CA, as well as the free cryo infusion. But the rest of her kit feels uninspiring.

Eula and Ayaka rock. Dori mains in co-op make me sad. I don’t regret anyone but I really never ever use Shenhe, Scaramouche, or Xiao.

I have C6 Klee. If there is any regrets, it's that Mihoyo made her relatively weak and refuses to at least make her burst stay active while she switches out.

Nilou... At first. Bloom was a new reaction at the time, and I just wasn't used to getting a delayed dmg. Used to be, when I click... something dies, or gets damaged. It's almost tactile. With Nilou, you just had to let her 3x E out and wait for your dendro teammates to create reactions and your driver to create more. It's not the most engaging. Then Nahida came out, and I still built my Nilou, because I wasn't satisfied. Now, at 57khp, and EM focus besides, she's always been in my abyss team since getting her built. Same with my Itto, I just built him and now, there's no regrets. Turns out, you just gotta build them, and because of the unlocked potential, (and the time investment you put in) you WILL love them. Lol. because that build? That's your baby.

The 5* characters I have benched, "klee, eula, Ayaka, ganyu, Ayato, kazuha nowadays (I still love him though, but been enjoying alhaitham spread teams lately. I'll bring him out again though so he's not completely benched), Xiao..hmm I think that's it so far. 5* characters I don't have are Cyno, Nilou, shenhe, hu tao (I'll be pulling for her next banner though), yoimiya and I can't remember anyone else I don't have. I skipped them because I wanted the characters that were near their banners. Now I do want shenhe cause she'd be a good addition to my account and maybe I would use my cryo characters more. I definitely don't regret Albedo but that's because he's been the best addition to my mono geo Itto team and my Itto team is my favorite to play. I always bring that team in abyss so albedo is never benched.

I regret pulling for Raiden on her latest rerun I felt like she would synergize well with my Ayato + Nahida + Kazuha team, but I much prefer Kuki, and now she's in my acc instead of Alhaitham and I don't even use her. First five star I actually regret pulling for.

All the characters I´ve pulled for so far I had reasons to get them so I don´t regret any one of them. The only exception is Yelan, since I pulled her more for FOMO and because everyone was saying how OP she was and stuff, but not only I really dislike the character, I also dislike her gameplay way too much. And on the top of that I literally never use her. Kokomi, Nilou, Xingqiu fill basically all my hydro needs in my account. Another one is maybe Tighnari, because I ended up getting him losing 50/50 and I use Nahida more anyways lol. But I did want him, he´s very cool and I might raise him eventually.
