4:42 I have a 2021 Basso Palta, prior to the tweaks to the front end with the stem/fork/routing, and a little less tire clearance. It's otherwise specced as here, with Campag Ekar and Shamals, and with a set of Basso carbon bars with the slightly "aero" 😂 top part, just for a little more palm rest. It's a lovely ride that makes every outing feel special. A key extra I bought at the same time was a second wheelset: i9 UL250 TRAs, aluminum spoke, the wider range Ekar cassette (i9 was one of the few places making N3W freehubs at the time), and wider tires. And while I admit I'm not a big air catcher, I have ridden this everywhere--road, gravel, and all the MTB stuff around here.... Love the bike, and so stoked to see Basso get some love on this list!

I ride a Specialized Crux and Its the best bike for my needs. Laced with Tailfin rack and bags 😁.

Sounds like the fastest (gravel and) commute bike on the planet. Smart combination!

Pleased to see the Lauf on the list. I have a Lauf fork on my custom steel frame, love it. If I hadn't gone with a local builder, I would've been buying the Seigla. And probably paired up with the same Cane Creek eesilk+ seatpost that I'm using now. Plush is good.

Ditto to Monty2078. I built my own Ti Gravel frame. So it fits me perfectly. Something you can't get with Carbon. And it's strong enough to get through even the mtb Rockgardens. If I hit a rock, no problem, won't crack. Built for life.

I have the Grevil F+ and love the bike. Use it for both road and gravel by switching out wheelsets. The bike is fast and fun. A joy to ride

A lot of hype for some over prices bikes. On a lot of the gravel we ride in North America, many of us prefer titanium frames. The feeling of a good titanium frame, over rought terrain is exceptional AND they don't break in a crash.

Although not technically a "gravel bike," I just bought a Cervelo R5cx for gravel racing, and I'm glad I did because from what I can tell the frame is very similar to the Specialized S-Works Crux (only mine has entirely internal cable routing, and the Crux doesn't). Very happy with my decision.

GT Grade has the best built-in rear "suspension" in my opinion. I coupled it with the Redshift stem in the front and I have yet to see a solution that would rival this one in simplicity, durability, weight and aesthetic.

It's like being a kid in the sweet shop. I want them all. But back to reality and my wallet limit...From these I'd be happy with an electronic shifting version of the Terra. I live in Thailand and delivery between bumpy tarmac and gravelly lanes but am thinking about a tour round Taiwan. I really want electronic gears any recommendation between the Orbea Terra, the Canyon Grail and the endurance bike the Canyon Endurace. All ideas grateful received. Danny. I'm a young at heart but older in body 50 year old.

The Basso is simply beautiful, the Orbea is nice and the Specialized is boring, looking like any cabon frame from the mid-1990s. And what has the humble straight line done to the designers at Pinarello that they can't allow even the tiniest little bit of one on their bikes? How can people spend five-digit amounts on a bike that looks like someone puked over it after having too much pasta?

None of these have the bolt points I'd expect to see for adventure gravel / bike packing. Other than the grevil that looks like a chonky boi, they all look like skinny road bikes. Strange.

We're staring to see a split in gravel bikes between those designed for racing and those built for mulit-day adventures/backpacking. The bikes in this video fall into the first category

Pinarello Grevil must be on this list solely due to the Pinarello name. The Grevil is not a superbike and is at best a mediocre gravel bike. Heavy compared to its rivals. Proprietary parts that are overpriced (and heavy). Among the worst customer support of any major bike brand.
