This is our video of 5 GREAT Things About Ambassador Cruise Line - where we tell you the top 5 things that Britain's newest cruise ship, Ambience has to offer. Ambience is a cruise ship which started sailing for Ambassador in April 2022 - Britain's newest cruise line. In this video of '5 GREAT Things About Ambience' as a cruise ship, and Ambassador as a new cruise line. We'll show you her facilities from keel to mast; including her bars, lounges, shops, restaurants, the Palladium Theatre, her inviting Green Sea Spa and much more. We'll also talk to you in detail about what makes Ambience GREAT over her competing cruise ships.
Formally Pacific Dawn, Ambience is a small-sized cruise ship, carrying around 1400 passengers and possessing a gross tonnage of around 70000 GT. Ambience offers a more personal, and intimate way of cruising - offering unique no-fly sailings out of the UK, and sailing to ports in Europe and further afield not accessible by larger ships.

Ambience was formally Satoshi, Pacific Dawn and Regal Princess.

New here! The bars and lounges looks magnificent. The Buckingham Restaurant is beautiful and well decorated. Vegan options are a plus. Great video!

Ambassador has captured a market of a traditional sized proper cruise ship than these huge behemoth cruise ships. Ambassador is about going to different places & boy do they. Whilst getting there just relax & enjoy the cruise ship in-house events. They have bought another old ship that once again is a proper cruise ship. CMV is missed but has arisen in Ambassador.

I know. Having just got off of Queen Elizabeth a few days before, you can imagine our delight when we picked up a drinks menu on Ambience. Certainly can’t complain about ‘value for money’ when it comes to Ambassador.

@@sailawaymag ah, I haven’t actually sailed with Cunard before - are drinks really expensive?! I have a few friends looking at doing a transatlantic but on a budget - is it quite pricey once onboard?

@@FraserAtSea goodness me, you're in for a shock. An average cocktail was about $18 including gratuities. The cocktails were banging, but those prices are exorbitant to me. We've wanted to do a transatlantic for a while, but we were very disappointed with our mini cruise on QM2 before Christmas; so will probably leave it a while until she's had a good ol' refit.

I often find that cruise ships do not give much thought to vegetarians so it’s nice to see more options available for a change.

They were really good on this ship to be honest. Vegetarian options were particularly good in the main dining room, and there was veggie bacon on the breakfast menu :)

Ambience is quite an old ship she sailed for many years for P&O Australia to the South Pacific but began her life with Princess Cruises a Dolphin class ship.

Yes I have sailed on her a few times on cruises from Sydney to the Pacific Islands she is a good size ship but a bit dated now if you compare with newer ships. I'm on our first cruise in 2yrs 4mths next month on Pacific Explorer it's a start after a long wait.

I'm doing the Med cruise in April so if you're doing the Oct one please give us a review. I got a single fare at 55% off so there are great deals, just check their website every week for prices. They do give a lot of cabins for single people at a fair price after a discount that is! otherwise you pay for 2 nearly. I'm tempted to do a World cruise if I can get a discount. 120 days..

I really enjoyed your video (pt.1). It looked like you had a really great time onboard. I was trying to see if there were any children in the video but didn't see any. Was there any on your sailing? I'm going to make myself a cup of tea and watch pt2 now...🙂

Thanks for your lovely comment James! No children when we were on board, and very little in the way of children's facilities - we would never recommend or suggest Ambassador to someone with children. Ambassador's target demographic is 50+, and that seemed pretty evident whilst onboard. Hope you enjoyed Part 2 :)

Great stuff. High praise for the food and as you said itinerary will win people over. The main cruise lines can end heading to same places especially now with restrictions of larger ships. You heading on the other ship at all? be interesting to see how it differs.

Thanks for your comment :) I totally agree with you, the larger cruise lines just keep going to the same places over and over again - I've lost count how many times I've been to bloomin' Vigo! We're going on Enchanted Princess to Guernsey and Rotterdam in August, and then Navigator of the Seas to the Mexican Riviera in November. Hopefully we can find another cruise to fill that gap though, where and when are you guys off next?

So it’s all MSC for us this year seaview out of Barcelona, rach has virtuosa with friends and Preziosa from Southampton in October. Some great deals at moment on MSC, be good to get your honest review at some point.

Hello Rob! Thanks for your feedback :) to be honest with you, they are very different cruise lines. MSC will give you a much larger and newer ship, with a great variety of dining venues, bars and entertainment lounges. Ambassador will give you a more classic ship, much smaller in size and a little dated in some areas - particularly the cabins. Ambassador is very much targeted at over 50’s, whereas MSC target families and a much younger crowd. Hopefully you can factor this in, and make the best decision.

A great review. My wife and I are booked on the Ambiance on an 11 night cruise round the UK next April. Without seeing any cruisers on any vlogs or on Ambassadors recently delivered brochure it has been difficult to judge how formal the ships dress code is. We much prefer informal and are happy with smart casual but will this be enough or is a lounge suit and tie required in the dining room?

Hello Malcolm! Thanks for your kind comment. We were onboard for the naming ceremony and gala night, so as you can imagine it was a very formal event. Having spoken to several who have cruised onboard her, it does seem to be more formal and traditional when it comes to dress code; however I’ve also seen that the dress code isn’t stringently enforced! Hope you have a great time :)

Hello Leslie, thanks for your comment! Drinks prices are very fair - £5 for a cocktail, £4.65 for a G&T and a large coke is £2.05. Pricing across the board is very fair aboard Ambience. You're cruise fare will cover accommodation, food in the buffet & main dining restaurants, water, tea, coffee and complimentary drinks at onboard events, entertainment and port taxes! Hope that helps :)

@@sailawaymag I've got MSc in September and also new year cruise with p&o in December next year 😁 going back to uni so I'm limited in what I can do . Hense why Im going on new year cruise but usually I work Christmas and New year . What about you guys ?

Went on this ship as pacific dawn in 2018 most of the ship is the same except for a few changes no not planning on sailing on it as ambassador cruise lines ambience not cruise line for me

Thanks for sharing Lorraine. Ambassador has changed very little aboard this ship, and done very little in the way of maintenance which is why they are now experiencing so many problems :( Happy New Year!
